Mr Johnny Kalimeris, Executive Member of the Board at ERT, stated to esctoday.com that although the final decision will be made shortly it is highly unlikely that the country will be able to take part this year.

The Greek broadcaster has lately suffered large budget cuts due to the crisis the country faces. Furthermore, the rise in the participation fee – an increase from 100.000 to 120.000- and the considerable cost required for the entire project make it extremely difficult for ERT to find willing private sponsors.
