I knew you'd like fan involvement xD But up to this point it has always made me cringe whenever they tried to involve fans in the show, except for 2010 but that wasn't the same you could see there were also non-ESC fans taking part like in Vilnius back then and it was just an interval act :P |

Did not see that coming. Well I've read bits and pieces on RTP's situation but I never thought they would actually withdraw. And Poland doesn't surprise me... |

I knew ESC didn't have that much of a future :( I just googled 'Turkey TRT' and the top thing I got was 'Turkey might not take part in Eurovision thisyear' which is as scary as shit.. And this was said by the head of TRT.. And we've got no news about our entry at all which is quite unusual.. I'm creeping out :fear: |

You did have a televized 'meeting' early in November I believe, I can remember people on ESCforum commenting on a live ESC related event on TRT... so I wouldn't worry about Turkey's participation if I were you. But... I do worry that Portugal will make other countries withdraw, I mean their reasons were pretty crisis related and their withdrawal has been a trending topic in Spain and there were even papers here and in Belgium too that mentioned it. And I'm afraid that for political reasons a lot of countries won't be able to justify taking part in ESC anymore. Countries like Greece, Spain, Italy etc. etc. So they'll just withdraw, even if withdrawing from ESC won't help you solve any of those issues at all they'll be forced to make that gesture.. |

My host sister from Spain was even tweeting about Portugal dropping Eurovision and I remember talking to my family about it and they made fun of me for liking it and she barely knew what it was xD So it was super weird to see her tweet about it all sad-like. |

to be honest i kind of like a smaller contest . before the two semi system there was less countries. i don't think anyone was worried about the esc future back then and before that when there was just a final you had to actually do well in order to get the right to compete. i kind of liked that idea. of course, ideally i would like to see every european country coming together for a week since that's ultimately why this contest started in the first place. and i love the idea but... in the end all it takes is let's say 20 countries for a concert and so the bump will pass by and the contest will keep going so... i guess i don't think it matters much. ------------------------ i didn't really care about portugal because their entries aren't very good but i respected their language rule and attempt to be cultural in their entries. slovenia - one of my favorite musical countries. aren't they rich? wth. |

We are on 41 countries without Slovenia? Oslo was 39, it is not like it is an all time low or anything xD |
