This topic is not perhaps needed, I wern't sure where to post it, only not in IK Announcements. Myself, Ichibod and a few others have decided to set up a new alliance named [Serenity] In the simplest form, it's going to be an alliance to help bring up new players to be strong warriors, play ethically and fairly. We will have a team of Mentors, and groups of young bloods learning off them. We won't be a big blood thirsty alliance, (p.s - we wont be attacking Digg if thats what your asking.) We want to try help make IK's future brighter, and help other alliances along the way with issues etc. Yes we will be seen as policing by some i'm sure, but most alliances are. I hope your personal feelings of me will not tarnish the name of [Serenity] or it's players, i am aware i have a very loud self-righteous mouth, and seen as manipulative by many. I ask all alliances give Serenity a chance to achieve it's aims. Players of the alliance will be free to grow with us, and leave for other alliances (or stay and mentor players themselves) For more information in a more poetic fashion, visit www.freewebs.com/dhaaran. I am hoping too once Serenity has settled, the only issue is, when all planned members join, we will be a top 10 alliance. (Which is against the code of SAC) We still aim to work with smaller alliances, providing they play sensibly. |

Way to go, Colin! Hmmmm... well, are you one of the new SAC diplomats, Colin? I know we are going to have one or two dips and when we get some, they should coordinate with not only Serenity, but also Digg and Angel and Pantheon since they have had people showing some interest but they are not going to be able to join only work with us. Feel me? I am not a diplomat... wait let me catch this...
Yeah my personal concern about having a bunch of top ten alliances hanging around SAC is that we will soon have them telling us how to play sensibly... it would make more sense in my opinion, to set up an embassy at SAC for the top 10 alliances that are interested, and secure the rest of the forum off from them. |

Sumi, can I ask you what you think SAC stands for? I believe it stands for Small Alliance Council. Now I would think that this means any alliance not including score that has roughly i don't know lets say 30 or members or more. Thats what I would take SAC means. And just because Colin has an idea and is running with it. As for Colin I applaud him and think his idea is a great one. It sort of a run in the opposite way the AMC is doing. Its setting up relations and making it a nice kampf for everyone. |

Sac = Small alliance consortium. It's set up as the AMC doesn't allow non-top 10 alliances to have a vote currently. Sumi, I have no real intention to tell people how to play, its there game, they can play it. I'm too busy playing my own game here  In simplist terms, I won't be wasting effort and resources to help a small alliance "colo-wh0re" - and most likely be eaten by a big alliance. I'm a huge fan in Sustained Growth. Especially at the tend size of under 10 isles. |

Tyler, SAC stands for the Small Alliance Council, and is defined currently as alliances that are under the Top 10. It will never be re-defined by the number of alliances members - if we did that, it would be a different concept entirely. An alliance of 45 members can be ranked in the 40s or 50s whereas there is at least one alliance with fewer than 30 members in the Top 10 right now.
Tyler, I think you're reading something into what I said. Honestly, I wasn't being sarcastic. I was seriously asking if Colin is interested in being a diplomat for the SAC.
Dhaaran is essentially correct in that that is one of the core purposes of SAC. Also... because as Tyler mentions in another thread, the AMC hasn't addressed anything except for high-score multies in quite a while, and small-level multies are a continual nuisance to small alliances. Finally, to make sure that larger alliances are aware of small alliance concerns - which means SAC will have diplomatic envoys to interact with the large alliances. Anyway, what you are saying about [Serenity] sounds good so far, Dhaaran, and I look forward to finding out more about it. |
