The soon-to-be Joe Biden of the IDU (much better)

I didn't see that until last night...I was really amazed that she was able to go back on the ice, and even more amazed that they won silver. It was a great performance except for that fall, so I'm glad they got it. In 2010, I'll be in college...so I doubt I will be able to afford to go to the Olympics |

Vancouver 2010 should be great... they're already about 25% overbudget... So well within the normal Olympic standards. I'd really like to go and see some live championship hockey. I know I'm repeating myself, but... |

Repeating is OK. I think the olympics are exciting. I was watching the men's figure skating and think it is better without the music and comments. Though I'm not sure that the Russian guy really was better than whomever it was who was swashbuckeling at the beginning of the program. At least they seem to be showing most everybody. |

Comments I can give you, but the music? The choreography is "supposed" to match up with the music, so wouldn't it lose some of the point if you didn't have it. Otherwise, it'd be like going to a ballet and just watching a bunch of people prance around on stage with nothing in the background. You'd miss some of the point. |

But they also have people talking telling us what is happening, and by habit I listen to them instead of watching the performance. 'sides, it seems like most of the guys are already dressed ballet style! |

Two thoughts ... First, I am ashamed to admit it, but I was pleased that the new figure skating rules have caused yesterday's skate dancing event to have "More crashes than NASCAR" ... I like to dance myself, but some of the skits those couples perform just are boring for me ... I like the jumping and acrobatic stuff associated with many of the other sports. Second, I was horrified today when I saw the Dutch bobsled flip and race down the track upside down! Anyways, I spent a good deal of time this weekend watching the olympics with my family. I wish I could do any of the things those athletes can do. Though one of my personal favorite athletes would be the woman from Croatia ... she interviews well and is very supportative of pretty much everybody else.

You are lucky that the Swedes stole the gold (in a fair race) from Austria, or Germany might be in the #2 spot. Though sadly my "girlfriend", Janica Kostelic, was bumped from the women's slalom today. I have great admiration for her and simply love watching her ski ... |

If Austria would be 1st spot, I'd be doing cartwheels and grab a cue stick and dance the Happy Dance (tm)... ...even although my patriotism for Austria was a little diminuished after all that doping crap of the last few days  |

I think Austria was in second place with Germany in first as of last night PST. I'm still uncertain of all of the details behind the doping scandal ... frankly I think the Olmypics are fun, but I don't understand why so many athletes go to such extremes (also grafting dead people parts onto your body or doing blood transfusions ... it just doesn't sound like a good idea). |

It's really unfortunate. These guys try to gain an advantage, whether for personal or national glory, and just end up screwing over their whole team.
And also screw over the entire country. Plus, it just makes a mockery of the entire event. How are we supposed to believe everything that comes out of the Olympics if so many people pull this kind of crap? Another case of a few bad apples ruining it for everyone else. |

Germany has 24 medals, Austria, Canada, and the US (woo ) 19, Russia and Norway 18. I hadn't heard about the doping scandal...that is sad. So is the stupid Hendricks-Davis fight. Ugh. |

Add Ice Dancing outfits to the list of things that need to be addressed -- they just inspire drama. ![]() The grafting of body parts was actually an Australian woman, though others might do it too. It is however legal to get replacement tendons (sp?) grafted to your body when yours wear out. |

Do NOT worry. I think the Ice Dancers of the XX Winter Olympia should be flogged. The Ice Skaters however are to be commended on classy outfits and making interesting programs. Actually as I'm watching the games, I'm also thinking about which events Mikitivity will enter in the NS Olympics. |

I think most of them have already taken care of that themselves. Don't you think crashing into the ice at high speeds and embarrassing yourself in the middle of the program qualifies as a form of flogging? Still, for those who didn't, it would be a just compensation for their attempts to wrench my eyes out with some of those outfits. While we're making up lists for flogging, let's add the Canadian and US men's hockey teams for their craptastic performances on Wednesday. |

After watching "Drama on the Ice" coming from that Italian woman, I actually got the impression that she in particular thought she was a ROCK STAR, and will come up with plenty of excuses. The flogging would be to remind her that, "Stay retired." I missed the Hockey games. On positive news, I was able to catch last night's Women's Free Skate finals, and was happy with the outcomes. It looked to my uneducated eyes like the women who did the best medaled. |

Glod glod glod! We won the greatest distance in the games, the 10000 metres. A battle of Men, a battle of *tough* Men, a race of exhausting, and our Bob de Jong gave 'm hell.
