Earning House Points There are various ways for students at Hogwarts to earn points for their house. House points are quite important to all Hogwarts students, staff (mainly the Head of Houses) as the house with the most house points at the end receives the House Cup award which will be placed in their common room for the following term until a new house is chosen a winner for the next term. Here are some of the ways in which students can earn house points. Classes Classes are basically the most fun & easiest way to earn house points. All you have to do is RP being in the class, taking notes, not paying attention, or what your professor has asked you to do. Most of the time, you won't even have a homework assignment (90% chance you won't) so all is needed is a few RPs to show that you have been active in that lesson. Quidditch Quidditch is not only a way to earn house points, but is also a fun sport favored by many students AND staff members. Quidditch will be played as a RPG (more information can be found at the Quidditch related topic in your handbook) and will be in the most simplest and easiest form. The house that wins the match will earn 100 points, and the loosing team will only earn about 20 or 30 points. There will be much more opportunities to earn points during the term, though most have not been fully designed and thought up of. Loosing House Points Loosing house points is not something that will be liked upon by you're fellow house members and especially your Head of House. It is quite simple not to have your house loose points, and if you find out how you loose points, hopefully you won't do anything in which would have you do something. Breaking Rules I would think that this is the easiest way to loose house points, and really the only main way to loose points. School rules are very important, as they are the structure that keeps this school clean and safe for all members that wish to take part of this magical adventure. Basically if you break a rule, you loose points. You can loose points from anywhere to 5 to 100, depending on which rule you broke, and how serious the issue was. |
