its okay.. I'm hard to impress when it comes to spriting but this is okay... (you should try converting the images to something like jpg or png before uploading just to be a bit friendlier) this kind of stuff is good for pre-rendered graphics right? That would look impressive in a game :D |

yes and like I said before those last three images arnt sprites or backgrounds there used as screenshots in games. Though the first three images are sprites Ive actually used one of them. And the good thing abou them is I have the model for the sprite saved so I can go back open it and take another picture of it from any point of view, i can also make it animated. |

A pre-rendered animated image would take up far too much memory though. Not to mention the loading time. Unless you have a sneaky idea like two images which the programmer causes to fade in and out with alpha transparency or blend modes. |

@Snowyowl: There not pr-rendered I take a picture of them from different angles and then add them in the order I took them in into the sprite in the game maker sprite. then I can delete the images off my computer. and I dont see why it would take any more memory than a regualar sprite? @Nebula: Well I guess ill have to try harder to impress you and the reason I use .bmp is the background comes out transparent I cant get a jpg to come out like that though I can usually convert them to jpg's after I make them. Pre-rendered means exactly that - that you make some sprites and draw them to the screen. The alternative is using Game Maker's 3D functions to draw an animated image in 3D. And it won't take up more memory than a regular sprite; the issue is that a sprite a dozen frames long which is 640x480 will always take up a lot of memory. About 3MB or so. |
