I don't understand any of the hate for Shia LaBeouf

Seriously what's wrong with him? I thought he was funny when I was a kid watching Even Stevens, and he's perfect for roles like the kid in Transformers and Indiana Jones' scrappy son.

Am I just missing something? Is he a secret Nazi communist?

Being a secret Nazi communist would just make him cooler.

He is the devil and it is my destiny to destroy him.

Anyway, a lot of the hate comes from the fact that he has a tendency to take up a good deal of the spotlight in the movies he is in. Did you go to Transformers to see Shia LaBeouf? Did you go to Indiana Jones to see Shia LaBeouf? No of course you didn't, but that doesn't change the fact that he has a good deal of the spotlight on him. Also he isn't a very good actor, and is essentially playing Lewis Stevens with Robots or Lewis Stevens in the 1950s. To add to the hate Transformers and Indy 4 sucked.

Also no no no nonononononononono!
Okay, think of what little patience I have as, oh, I don't know, your virginity. You always thought it would be there, until that night Junior Year when you were feeling a little down about yourself and your pal Kevin, who just wanted to be friends, well, he dropped by and he brought a copy of About Last Night and a four-pack of Bartels & James and woo hoo hoo, it was gone forever - just like my patience is now. ~ Dr. Perry Cox

Who the hell... put bouillon cubes in the shower head!?! Huh? Hm, did you do it? Hm? Did you? If it happens again, I will wait in my S.U.V., blast me some speed-metal -- 5.1 surround sound, heavy on the bass -- and someone... will be getting... mowed... down. ~ Dr. Hooch

Raptor, you said before you liked the Transformers movie, and I thought Indy 4 was about on the same level as Temple of Doom, which is still awesome.

Ok first off it was a fun movie with lots of exciting action scenes. I didn't have a problem suspending disbelief during the fridge and vine swinging scenes, because frankly all the Indiana Jones movies have a few ridiculous and impossible moments (not just the supernatural stuff) so I came expecting stuff like that, and I even found them entertaining. I liked how the movie poked some fun at Harrison Ford's age and the previous films in the series, like showing the Ark of the Covenant and the picture of Sean Connery. For the time period the movie was set in, the Russians were a perfect adversary for Jones, and the alien concept itself is not so bad, again given the time period and the fact that the Indiana Jones series is based on pulp serials to begin with. However, the aliens actually taking off at the end was a little much, even for me, but it wasn't enough to ruin the film. Indy getting married at the end didn't feel particularly abrupt to me; it's clear throughout all the movies that Indy has a lot of backstory and relationships they never got into in the films, and with Indy himself getting old, introducing a new female love interest would have been strange, and Marion seemed like the perfect choice and another throwback to the old films. As for Shia LaBeouf picking up the fedora, I think he'd make a fine character in the same vein as the young Indiana Jones in Last Crusade.

I'm sure you'll disagree with me, but I loved the movie.

I really have no problem with anything he's done that I remember except for the Transformers movies. And while I agree with Raptor that he got too much screentime there, that's not really his fault. Blaming Michael Bay is both more fun and more true anyways.

This is exactly the group of people who tended to hate it the most.
