Truth be told, I don't find Alpha Gaiden all that hard. I still didn't bother to finish the game, but until now it's been easy as heck. I don't see where AG fits in this, but whatever.

I found Dawn of Sorrow harder than Aria of Sorrow, if only because of that Paranoia dude or whatever. The enemies also seemed to do overall more damage to you.

Character design and being more boring is purely opinion. I prefer the older style, but I like the anime style. I also found DoS more entertaining than AoS.

The dialogue was kind of messed up, though. Like, when Soma meets Celia on that path to the tower: Julius and Arikado tell him to stay away and the conversation just ends there. You then proceed like nothing happened.

Fuck, I had written a long post and hit refresh, don't feel like rewriting.

Just the style thing, though.

I don't see the problem with using a new art style.

I don't either, but when they fucking FAG IT UP COMPLETELEY AND DESTROY GOOD CHARACTER DESIGNS, then I have a problem.

Castlevania was always inspired by anime, but this is a million steps too far. Good thing IGA realized his mistake, he admitted they changed it to appeal to small children. This is also the reason PoR and DoS are in general easier and more "light hearted".

I don't think it destroys the designs, just represents them in a different style, to be more appealing to a bigger audience. Not necessarily children, by the way.

... But, yeah, what's the point of making Castlevania appeal to children? Though it's not a gore fest, it still has a small amount of themes generally considered to be innapropriate to children.

I actually didn't know IGA said that. Kinda puts a somewhat different perspective into things.

Essentially, he saw the DS as something that mostly children would play.

Don't think he could've been more wrong.

GBA had like 3 castlevania games.. I never played them though.. There was one good one on the DS but the one with the boy and girl that switched places absolutely sucked.

New Super Mario bros is fun, but it's the same shit.. That's like remaking FE1 or something.. oh wait..

EBA is definitely a good game but like I said all the DS has is puzzle games or gimmick games like this.

I never liked Animal Crossing.

Contra 4 was pretty good but didn't interest me for long.

Trauma Center.. Was trying it out the other day.. I don't like it.

I love Cooking Mama but... gimmick game again.

Maybe the thing I don't like about the DS is pretty much no good quality RPG games.

The World Ends With You is one of the best games on the DS by far.. But it isn't my type of RPG..

FF.. I hate Final Fantasy. FF3 was fun for a little bit but I always got bored. The rest of the FF remakes are on the GBA.

FFIV

And how are games that utilize the stylus automatically "gimmick games"? EBA and Ouendan are some of the best quality and longest-lasting games on the DS, and can't be done on any other console.

Personally, I liked DoS better than AoS. Felt more polished. I wasn't a big fan of PoR, but there's more Castlevanias coming out anyway.

Both DoS and AoS were pretty easy however I believe AoS is superior in every way.

The DS lacks a good FPS.

Kiwi did see that there was an RTS for it and he would have liked to try it.

Age of Empires sucked for the DS.
Some Anon game sucked too.
I haven't tried Civilization.

The DS has Metroid Prime Hunters and Call of Duty 4 for FPS's. Using the Stylus to aim and pressing the shoulder and using the D-pad is very uncomfortable imo.

I use my DS to play GBA games.. Good thing I payed that 15 bucks for the 3-in-1.

Geometry Wars is a beastly game.. once again another puzzle though.

Metroid Prime: Hunters sucked to Kiwi. Kiwi could only beat it once then never again.

metroid prime hunters had a fucking shitty story mode that sucked. the wifi multiplayer owned until hackers played the game and pretty much ruined random matchmaking.

friend battles were fun.

Yeah, can't understand that at all, and DoS was even the first CV I really played.

I got an R4 in Akiba a little while ago.

NES emulation works very very well and is almost perfect 99% of the time. Certain games don't work but I'm not sure if it's because of bad dumps or the emulator (the roms don't have the [!] symbol so I can't be sure). Only problem is that the emulator (nesDS) doesn't automatically save SRAM when you save in-game, so you have to remember to choose "Save SRAM" in the emulator menu if you're playing Zelda or FF or something. nesDS also supports save states, which is nice.

Tried an SNES emulator with FE4. It's kinda lul right now with all the glitches, but if given a chance, I think SNES emulation could probably be very good in a couple years.

There doesn't seem to be a GBC emulator for the R4 (DS slot 1 device), which is somewhat surprising, and kind of disappointing.

Try the Goomba Color emulator. It's what I used on a G6 for GBC emulation.

Yeah, I was also dissapointed to see that the default Goomba emulator only played GB games.
