Um, okay. I don't understand exactly what you're getting at. Are you trying to convince me? Or are you trying to justify your own opinion? Because I don't care if you like the GBA more. >_> |

No, I just made a pointless remark and you took it as me trying to imply something or make a point, I think. |

I feel that the DS has about 4 or so good games. I'm not interested in that Mario crap though. |

I actually agree with Xeno on this one. The Wii is a pretty lousy system overall as far as game selection. It has less than half a dozen exclusives that I would even consider, and by far the lowest average game rating. The 360 has the strongest current game selection, though I'm inclined to say that Sony pretty much dominated E3. |
|
The opinions expressed in the above post are totally and completely correct. If you disagree with them, you are wrong, there's just no other way to put it. I've seen knights in armor panic at the first hint of battle. And I've seen the lowliest, unarmed squire pull a spear from his own body, to defend a dying horse. Nobility is not a birthright. It's defined by one's actions. -Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

Eh, the lack of exclusives is a problem (mainly when it comes to 3rd party support), but having the lowest average game rating doesn't mean shit unless you choose games by randomly picking them off the store shelves. |

Yes, losing exclusivity on Final Fantasy 13 was a brilliant strategy - if only the Titantic's crew had followed Sony's path and plowed directly into the iceberg. To me, the Wii is a fun little box, with its own Nintendo first party games and a couple of interesting third party exclusives (No More Heroes, Boom Blox, and the nice little WiiWare things. However, there are major issues with its online service (random matches in Brawl still fail, and I've basically given up on the USB Connector ever working, which thus forces me to either go without online or spend even more money on a wireless router just to deal with shitty Nintendo online). The ports of older games like Okami also help fill out the rather thin lineup. The PS3 and 360 are similar machines, and unfortunately for each other, the only thing solid was Sony's grip on last place, with is starting to slip. Both consoles have significant selection overlap, and as a dedicated Valve fanboy, I can't say I give a shit about their bigger exclusives (Gears of War, Halo, Resistance, etc), and that possible enthusiasm is dampened more by the fact that Call of Duty 4 is multiplatform and superior to said exclusive (and still worse than HL2). MGS4, well... I thought comic books had some annoying plot points involving revival of the long dead (at least they have the excuse of being released monthly or whatever for decades, thus necessitating reboots, re-dos, and the like). Can't really count the cross-platform stuff either way, since PSN is about as good as one would expect a free online system to be - making it relatively equal to Live in terms of value. The DS vs. PSP, in terms of games, is pretty much no contest for me. Advance Wars, Pokemon, Phoenix Wright (granted, I found them painfully linear and boring as hell, but others seem to enjoy them), Trauma Center, Castlevania, New Super Mario Bros and FFTA2 are all good selling points, as FE1DS will be if it comes here (which it seemingly will, given that people know Marth and they've released the previous 4 FE games here). One could claim the PSP has emulation, but I don't think we can count that in its favor, given that Sony opposes that officially (but certainly doesn't mind the sales it provides) and the arcane tricks required to mod a new PSP (I've seen my friends try to mod theirs). Without that on its side, the PSP really has some gimped console derivatives, the full versions of which don't interest me anyway. Ultimately, the DS scores a more decisive victory than any other. Of course, all are inferior to PC gaming, but one can only expect so much out of the puny little consoles. |
