Why should I play versions that, by nature, are inferior ports? It's like playing the SNES version of Dracula X instead of Chi no Rondo >_>

Apparently, I am the only one that prefers the SNES Dracula X to the PC Engine one. I have heard people say Chi no Rondo had better controls, but I never noticed any real difference difference. Then again, the classic Castlevanias had horrible controls as a general rule.

not at all. the NES one is the version that introduced the code. the graphics may be less detailed, but I still think they look better; it's easier to see stuff.

having played both versions, they're basically the same as far as gameplay goes, but the NES versions have 8-bit charm.

DOT DOT DOT

Richter in Dracula X fucking walks slower than Nathan in Circle of the Moon. He jumps worse than Simon in Castlevania 1, and the game is absurdly hard JUST because of that.

Chi no Rondo isn't much better off from what I remember. I don't see what's so bad about it.

Richter walks a LOT faster in Chi No Rondo. It's better in like, every single way. Vampire's Kiss is just an inferiorization (Note: Vampire's Kiss is the European name, I use it to distinguish them).

np

It is a pretty good game actually, glad you enjoyed it too. :)

I heard Neutopia 2 is better in some ways, worse in others, so it ends up being about the same, quality-wise.
