Hmm, you'll learn in time, child. Very little time. Don't worry. |

You're relying too much on generalizations and stereotypes here, I think. |

Well, yes, I'm sure there is a large amount of men who don't work hard and a fair group of women who do work hard to match it, but I haven't ever encountered them as more than just a random, rare instance. I've ever seen two men who worked with significantly less effort than the women, and they were like the super feminine gay types. Women working hard? Oh sure, yeah, no doubt. But most of the jobs they were working required that kind of hard work in the first place. Like working in a metal shop or something. They're tough, but not remarkably more than the men. That may be more of a limitation of their strength, though; I imagine as tough as they were(and arguably better workers), they would have exceeded the men if they weren't physiologically limited. Really, people should just be paid more or less on effort. However, it isn't easy for a business to give a pay cut without getting into a mess. The logical thing would be to start everyone at a fairly low salary and rapidly raise them up based on effort, but anyone can say that a merit system is just going to lead to seriously underpaid employees. So then, they just work on the general idea that men would work harder than women, for various cultural stereotypes backed with a certain extent of good reasoning. Thus leading us full circle in a problem that can't really be fixed easily. |

When I had a job for a few months last year, I couldn't stand it and really didn't want to be there. I didn't put forth nearly as much effort as I should have. I absolutely couldn't stand most of my female co-workers, but that was because they would always complain when I didn't do something right or wasn't working fast enough. I think it's safe to say that they cared far more about their job than I did. Then again, this was a shitty part-time job bagging groceries at a supermarket, pretty much the dullest and least fulfilling job imaginable. |

No Darts, they weren't concerned with their job. They just didn't want to pick up the slack you created. I think it's an exception when you're forced to work and don't want to and don't put effort into it at all because of that, like you did. That could happen to both genders and should be mooted. |
