We last left off where Seth decided to go to Valor on his black dragon Erath. And when he got there...And if anyone forgot the story, Kyan found his long lost friend Seth on Valor, and his black dragon Erath. Kyan is a mamkute that can still use swords as well as dragon stone attack.

You've never had to transport wood on a narrow path, have you? Especially a slanting one. Hell, a horse'd be better than an engine in general on slanting paths, even if you could fit a tractor on them.

No, see, I don't live on a cliff. And a horse on more than a 45 degree angle is going to fall and die just as easily as an engine would fall and break.

...That's assuming you can get the horse on a ridiculously steep hill, too. They have a will, unlike machines.

Personally? I'd cut down the tree, and roll it down the hill onto flat land.
Or just not need to transport wood in remote locations.

Wow, that counter reeks of ignorance. >_>

The Carbon Dioxide given off by animals is far less than that given off by cars, power plants, and probably even forest fires.

Roll it down the hill? What're you going to do about all the trees in the way?

a horse, a burrio or a donkey are all better than engines in those situations that waddy was using, they are all smaller more sturdy and much more sure footed than any four wheel drive vehicle you can imagine

When I first read this post, I read "Burrio" as "Burrito".

It made it a lot more interesting, let me tell you.

I did the same. >.<;

All that is very true, and I can't deny that.

You have no truly good reason to go somewhere that requires a horse, donkey, or burrito, that you can't get to on foot or via technology. Or rock climbing.

It's not a matter of getting there. It's a matter of moving things there. Where the fuck would you get wood if not in the woods? Disregarding the fact that you live in a hot, flat, barren wasteland.

That is precisely where he lives. Living in the desert for too long drives people insane. People need to see snow regularly or they'll start doing crazy things. It's like the opposite of the Seasonal Affective Disorder that's supposed to be common in Sweden - this time, too much light/summer leads to mania instead of the lack of light leading to depression.

Well a crazy concept is to NOT go onto a steep incline to take a tree fairly far back into a forest, when you can cut down those at the forest's edge.

To explain the completely obvious logic, a diagram!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxXXXXXXXXXXXxxxxx
xxxxxXXXXXXXXXXXXXXxxxx
xxxxxxXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXxx
xxxxxxXXXXXXXXXXXXXxxxxx
xxxxXXXXXXXXXXXXXXxxxx
xxxxxXXXXXXXXXXXxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxXXXXXXXXXxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxXXXxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

x = tree X = tree deep in forest and/or on mountain

Wouldn't it make sense to, instead of getting one from the middle of the forest and/or on a mountain, to take one from the edge?

Except what I'm talking about is highly specific trees, because THAT tree needs to go and THAT tree needs to go, and we take them away because it means free heating.
