More than half of the country supports bans on anti-Christian behavior. Enough said. |

As long as you have some sort of rationale. Otherwise this topic is just fluff. |

It kind of depends on the behavior, and what you mean by anti-Christian. |

Of course, not all people who support bans on anti-Christian behavior are trash, but many of them are. They're the ones who are fluff, not this topic. |

Discriminating against homosexuals, believing that women are inferior to men, complaining about the "moral decline" of this country, having a heart attack whenever something that wouldn't have been done in the 1950s is depicted on a television show, attempting to ban or restrict access to pornography, wanting to ban speech with which they disagree... you know, those good-old American values. |

I think it's pretty safe to say that all the behaviors I just listed describe a fairly large portion of this country. |

But you made it sound like there's an actual statistic. I'll run through everything.
Yes, this is a problem, but it's not only Christians who are against them.
I can't say this is something I've noticed. If nothing else, we're better than we were in the past and better than a lot of other countries about this.
People have done this for literally thousands of years. The Greek philosophers also commented on the lazy, immoral youth of THEIR times.
Considering the amount of sex, violence and language on TV these days... I'm gonna have to disagree with you here. The Janet Jackson thing was way overblown, but just look at the stuff they have on prime time TV in stuff like The OC, CSI, and pretty much anything on MTV.
I'm pretty sure MOST people probably agree that pornography is a private matter that a person should take care of on their own and that there's no real need to ban it completely. Again, not something I've noticed.
That one bill you posted a while ago trying to limit free speech on the Internet was indeed BS, but I don't think that's what people want. |

Oh, this is something that most certainly still exists. Any good Christian preacher thinks that women should not have jobs other than raising children, don't you know?
All those anti-video game violence crusaders would also count as people who want to ban speech with which they disagree.
This country's in moral decline, yes, but it's because of the neoconservative warmongers who want people to fucking die in the Middle East and the people who think that it's okay for government to run other people's lives, not because of the people who are watching porn or having sex with people of the same gender. |

Well it is tradition that the man goes and works and this practice is also not limited to Christianity at all... This doesn't seem to be limited to humans either. Males simply don't have the means to care for children naturally on their own (no breasts = no food for toothless Junior) so it makes sense to me that mothers take care of the children simply out of convenience. Obviously we have baby formula and stuff today so it's very possible for the male to care for the children, but most women happily acted as homemakers not even half a century ago, so the tradition hasn't died out yet. I don't really have strong feelings on this matter though.
And how many times have they been shot down? Their efforts are pretty much useless and they generally only seem to do it to get attention anyway. |
