Who else sees positives in gay relationships?

It's only a matter of time before over-population of the planet becomes an issue, so I think allowing or even encouraging gay relationships and marriages would help prevent the problem. It would be less sadistic than allowing diseases to run rampant or limiting the number of children a family can have, and there'd be one less issue of prejudice to worry about.

Of course, this would require some major restructuring of most people's values, but it's just a thought I had. <<

As long as no government action is taken to enforce that idea it sounds good.

My history teacher mentioned something about gay marriages helping the tax payers because they can't have children to write off, or whatever. Except adoption, of course. >_>;

Needless to say, I have an odd history teacher.

Let people do whatever they want, whether good or bad...That's all the generic neutral comment I have to say.

I fully support gay relationships. For too long there have been strict gender roles that make no sense. We are humans, we can think on our own. Why be restrained to tradition? There is absolutely no reason why you can't love your own gender. There is also no reason why a woman has to be feminine, or a man has to be burly and fix cars and do unintelligent things. Roles forced onto people by society are quite detrimental to the individual, and the population as a whole suffers.

But in all seriousness, gay is against the Bible. God said to have lots of unprotected sex and have too many children to support, and gays are exactly the opposite of that. They are evil. *hiss*

But the more people there are, the more awesome stuff there is. If Earth's population never got above 1000, then there wouldn't be video games and shit. >_>

Lulu presents a compelling point.

I'm not against growth, but the earth's resources ARE limited to some extent, and I think we have enough variety in hard-working people with the billions of people on the planet that we don't have to worry about advancement of technology.

You know about unemployment and people who are starving cause they can't get food? Add all those up. Those are how many people that shouldn't be on the Earth right now.

You can starve to death in a bakery if you don't know that the stuff they make there is edible. A higher population would be able to generate more information and technology, and thus more ways to use the resources we have more efficiently - as well as discover new resources.

Unemployment - More people means more workers to take jobs, but it also means more people to create businesses and job opportunities. The existence of some unemployed people is natural; after all, people get fired and quit. The economy won't be improved if they suddenly vanish.

Starving - I would certainly think that most places with people starving seem to have a better correlation with war and tyrannical governments than with high population density. Hell, if the U.S. stopped giving farmers subsidies to burn their crops, then a substantial part of the problem would likely be fixed, since with the lower prices, farmers would be desperate for new markets.

Why change anything at all when you don't need to? The people who have been unemployed for quite a while and the ones who are starving to death simply need to not be here. Ideally, less than 1% of the world population should be going hungry or unemployed at any given time.
