Am I the only one who thinks FE could be more?

I also think that FE needs new stuff, but other than a multiplayer that functions like the main game, I can't really think of much to add that would make a big difference. Guess we'll just have to trust in Intelligent System's creativity.

Honestly, I think the teamwork thing I mentioned could make a huge difference, assuming enemies get it too. It'd be essentially impossible for units to be "one man armies" as they are now.

I'd like to be able to have more control of a character's class. For example, turning a lance knight into a general/fighter/mercenary. FE8 had a very rudimentary version of this, but it was still rather bland and trapping - there's not a whole lot of difference between Mage Knight and Sage. That'd really open up the games even more, which can vary a lot from playthrough to playthrough as it is.

Well now we're starting to get interesting ideas. And I agree, too. It could be benefical especially for characters blessed in a certain stat that they can't make a really good use of because of a low cap.

In the GBA FE, ennemies COULD have supports. They just... barely did. There was only Jasmine/Paul and Lloyd/Linus in FE7, IIRC.

And unless they made the teamwork bonus quite big, nah, it wouldn't make a big influence. And that would reduce the importance of a lot of other things, like a character's own personal stats, and I'm not too sure about that.

The supports enemies had in FE7 really didn't do anything though; it seemed they were only there for story purposes. Jasmine and Paul were too far apart and you didn't fight Linus and Lloyd in the same chapter.

If you ask me, I think the biggest flaw with Fire Emblem is that your individual units are too over-powered. I DID mean making the teamwork bonus big, like +5 hit and avoid per team member and +1 to some other stats as well. With teams in formation like the enemies in FE4, it could be devastating to you unless you do the same. Essentially, the bonuses of both sides would cancel each other out, so they'd be about equal.

Actually, the Lloyd/Linus support ID take effect ; in the Final Chapter, they still had it, and were in the same room.

And well... excepted from forcing you to keep your units together, this wouldn't do much, really. You could just... make the enemies stronger, and it would do the same.

Oh, didn't know that about Linus and Lloyd.

Your units should be sticking together, and so should the enemies. Making enemies stronger would not do the same. As you kill their units, they'd each get progressively weaker because they'd be losing team support and morale. It's not all that different from FE4 leadership really, and I hear that FE10 is bringing that back, so I guess we'll see how that works.

I'm not too fond of the idea because it makes the fight easier as you progress.

Not if they bring in REINFORCEMENTS.

Though I guess you're mostly right.

This makes me think of Yggdra Union for whatever reason. >_>

As long as bonuses don't make units overpowered, like giving a unit a +2 to all stats, fine with me.
