I know two lines is rather lame for an entire thread. But I had to cut a chunk of it out, so ... And anyway, if the article is true, we've got a thread ready to discuss it. :)

I can never decide on a fave. Do you prefer Wigan, or Blackpool?

It's more of a what than a who ~ that's the BAFTA Award.

Dannii's TV tears over marriage and Kylie cancer
By ANDREI HARMSWORTH - Thursday , October 29, 2009 - Metro.co.uk

Dannii Minogue has broken down in tears on television after recalling the torture of her broken marriage and her famous sister's battle with cancer. The X-Factor stunner shed her tears as she gave her most candid interview yet on Piers Morgan's Life Stories as she also revealed her controversial decision to strip on the cover of Australian Playboy.

Crying about her doomed two year marriage to Nip/Tuck actor Julian McMahon in the nineties the singer says she doesn't know exactly why they failed as a couple. 'I don't think there's any one thing that it was,' she weeps. 'It was just a lot of things and we're very, very different people, but I just feel like a failure with it and I hate that. I just thought, 'How could I be so stupid in every respect? How could I have not seen this coming, with the marriage not working out?' Everyone else could see it, how could I let everything turn into this?'

The 38-year-old then fights back more tears as she recalls her family's private pain over the breast cancer bombshell handed to famous sis Kylie in 2005. 'All I wanted to do was get inside the door of the family home and see my gorgeous sister and hug her,' Minogue says. 'And it was like trying to get through all of these barriers and it took a long while to understand all of that was there because everybody loves Kylie and they just wanted to know, 'Is she ok?' But as a family member…it made everything more difficult.'

Meanwhile, Dannii says she has no regrets about stripping bare on the cover of the Australian lads' magazine to save her from £150,000 of debt. The star admits she did it for the cash despite her parents' opposition and because she was too ashamed to ask her rich sister to bail her out. Dannii admits: 'My parents didn't want me to do it. My dad was saying, 'Doing this is forever - you can never, ever change it'. Kylie knew why I was doing it. I could have asked her for the money, but it wasn't in my nature. I never wanted to admit the trouble I was in. I should have been looking at my finances.'

The star said the risk paid off as the cover became a top seller but came at a personal price. 'I would never disclose how much - but it had to be a lot to look at my parents' faces and see the anguish in my dad's eyes. I don't regret it, but I feel relieved that people know why I did it - it's a huge weight off my shoulders. It was actually fun and I did feel liberated. I looked at the pictures and thought, 'I look all right!'. The magazine was the biggest selling title they had ever had and they had to reprint', says Dannii. 'My girlfriends went out to buy it and told me I looked beautiful. It then felt like a celebration of me.'

Watch the interview on Piers Morgan's Life Stories this Saturday at 10pm on ITV1.

Less Than Perfect
After watching her interview with him my opinion of Dannii has changed somewhat, I have quite a bit of admiration for her now in the sense that she has faught back over all the stuff in the press about her singing career and X Factor. I love Sharon Osbourne to bits and always will, but I think now after what Dannii said maybe Sharon didn't really give her a chance that she deserved when she started on X Factor. I think Sharon was quite intimidated by her youthfulness and the fact that Simon did take a shine to her. Maybe they both could of tried harder, we'll never really know. All I know is that my opinion has changed about her, and I think that she was very honest and open in the interview. And I think that she showed a very sweet, vunerable at side at times, I'm glad that I watched it.

I watched it earlier on itv catchup and really enjoyed it, she came over really well; likable, honest, fun and down to earth. Chris was sooooo sweet and genuine and its obvious from both Dannii herself and her friends' comments that he's had a big effect on her. She definately seems more happy.

Didn't like Piers showing her Sharon's comments. That was just uncomfortable viewing. Whatever happened between her and Sharon, it's not nice to sit and have to listen to someone critising you esp when you can't argue back with that person. Okay, I'm not explaining that well, but it reminded me of when someone tells you what another has been saying about you behind your back and you have to sit and take it. Right, that still didn't come over any better!!! Suffice to say I felt sorry for Dannii - who has to be the only person on the planet who ditches botox and looks absolutely stunning for it.
