With "American Idol" starting season six next week on Fox, the other networks are trying to cash in on the phenomenon as well. Last year's runner-up Katharine McPhee will guest star as herself in an upcoming episode of ABC's nom "Ugly Betty." McPhee will appear in the Feb. 1 episode, titled "I'm Coming Out" about Mode magazine's runway show. Ep marks the beginning of February sweeps. In a bit of cross-promotion, two days earlier McPhee's self-titled album will be released. Kelly Clarkson, the winner of the first season of "Idol" and a bonafide music star, will guest on this Sunday's CW comedy"Reba." Jan. 10, 2007 - Variety.com |
