| GENERAL RULES: This forum has been created to discuss celebrity relationships. We want everyone to enjoy it, but we encourage you to have respect for each other, and the celebrities featured, across all sections of the forum. Please keep to the right threads for the right couples (e.g Saula in the Saula forum, etc.). If you cannot see a thread for the couple you want to talk about, please start one on the Favourite Couples forum. Please do not copy anything from this site without requesting permission from either a member of the admin team or (when applicable) the member concerned first. If you have any problems or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact either a Moderator or member of the Admin team. Have fun and enjoy posting on FOS! CREDITING: Articles, scans, etc. which are posted here must have their source, the name of the author responsible and the date of publication (when available) clearly stated in the post. ADULT CONTENT AND RATINGS: Please do not post adult content on the forums, as this may offend some members/guests and isn't suitable for our younger members. Adult content is fine in fanfics, as long as it is clearly rated as such in the title of the thread. Please note that Admin & Mods reserve the right to remove adult content if posted elsewhere on the forum without further warning. SPAMMING: We are aware that everyone can drift a little off-topic at times, and that's not really a big problem. However, posting in thread after thread simply to boost your post count is not at all acceptable. This creates unnecessary work for the Mods and Admin who have to tidy up afterwards, and it gives the wrong impression entirely to guests and new members, too. This also covers the posting of articles as well. We are aware that genuine mistakes are possible, but it's really not too much to ask for members to check whether what they're about to post is already here or not first. The source may be different, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the content itself is different. Finally, the posting of links/ads. We don't allow links anywhere on the forum at all, other than once only in the pinned Links thread in The Powder Room after you've made 50 or more posts. Links to personal sites, blogs, charity sites, etc. are fine in your signature or member profile, as long as they do not contain content of an 'adult' nature, or that others may deem offensive. However, unless by prior agreement with the Admin team, we do not permit links to other forums or message boards. Such links will be removed without notice, and further action may be taken if and when necessary to ensure this rule is adhered to. DORMANT ACCOUNTS: It's our policy here at FOS not to show false membership statistics, which are common elsewhere. Therefore, Admin periodically review unused and/or dormant accounts. Accounts for members that have made 0 posts after a period of 28 days or more at the time of such a review are therefore routinely removed. Similarly, accounts that have only a handful of posts and belong to members that have not logged-in for some considerable time are also earmarked for removal. TEXT SPEAK: Text speak is not acceptable for posting here. It may be quicker for you to type, but it invariably takes 3 or 4 times longer for everyone else to decipher what you're saying. You will receive one final reminder linking you here if necessary, but from then on such posts will be edited or deleted as deemed appropriate by the Moderators / Admin of FOS. DOUBLE-POSTING: Members have the option to Edit their posts for 5 minutes after they've been submitted. As such, there is absolutely no need whatsoever to double-post during that period. Members who double-post when they had the option to Edit instead will have 10 posts deducted from their counts. POSTING IMAGES: The following methods of posting images are not permitted: Thumbnails: there’s absolutely no need to post images as thumbnails, unless they’re wider than 700 pixels. Hotlinking: this is when you use the URL of the image at its original location. This is basically stealing, because someone else’s bandwidth is being used, without their permission. Such links generally expire very quickly too, leaving a blank post which then has to be deleted, along with any replies to it. Photobucket: links to pictures posted on account-based image hosts such as Photobucket expire when the image is moved. Again, we have to delete the post and all replies to it when this happens. All images posted as detailed above will be deleted without further warning. There are numerous free image hosts available, although ImageShack is recommended because it’s reliable and easy to use. You may use other image hosts, but please avoid those which use adult-oriented or otherwise offensive advertising. SIGNATURES & BANNERS: We’ve had a lot of problems recently with members using enormous signatures (banners). They’re a real pain to scroll past, and a nightmare for those on dial-up internet connections who have to wait ages for threads to load. Therefore, to make things fair for everyone, we’ve decided to introduce limitations on signature sizes. The maximum size of any one image allowed in members' signatures will be 650x200 pixels: ![]() Your image may be smaller or the same as these dimensions, but no bigger in either width or height. The maximum number of images (banners) permitted in any signature will be two. If you want a signature that’s text only with no images at all, then the maximum will be 5 lines of text. If you want to use one image only, you may also include a maximum of 3 lines of text. If you want to use 2 images, then you may also include one line of text. All text used must be in a reasonably-sized font. The use of images or text that may be in any way considered offensive is not permitted under any circumstances. |
