Armour system; Possible?

OK, as some of you may know, i am working on a platform shooter called Prophet of Death. Well, I devised a good armour system for it and I thought you might want to use something like it? Well, rather than having it like scandux *spits*, where armour adds to your health, we could have armour points. The idea is, you take no damage until the armour points are exhausted, in which case you would need to go to a shop to get the armour repaired. Armour points are deducted from your total depending on the damage of the attack inflicted. There could be some weapons that go straight through armour and deal direct damage to your health; crossbows, magics?

Complex, yes. Possible? Very.

;) Don't want to be a burdensome nuisance here. You'll see me most in the suggestions forum since I really can't do much else.

hey... i saw that type of armour system in... wats it called....

think its like swords and sandals

where there's like 2 hp bars, one for armor and when its gone, the personal health pts show...

still... some stronger armor shuld have boosts to help hp, mp, sp, watever other pts there are and stats

bout repairing the armor... maybe it be seperate from the armor pts...
since it wud be sorta of annoying to repair ur armor after each battle...
i think that we shud have that sort of armor system, wud make Feýalynn a bit more realistic

many games have this, like Halflife2 (not sure about #1) however usually, this means a players HP is guite low, so that good armour is a priority, not a little upgrade

This would be a good idea. HP could be affected by the race you are and armor is affected by what class you are (Ex: Mages have robes, low armor).

There shouldn't be weapons that go past the armour. Maybe weapons that ruin the armour in one hit, that would be good. It's Swords and Sandals with two HP bars, yeh.

I think most races should be one hit kills without armour... and I think it's silly how most games stop you using some items because of your class. Classes should just be a set of attacks, not special armours etc.

Just have a STR requirement for some items. No AGI requirements, only STR for heavy stuff and INT for magical items (any, but low INT requirement for enchanted warrior items such as swords or armour). AGI should increase movement speed, and armour should have weight. Your STR must be higher than the required for your armour and items for AGI to be any use... I need to describe this with an example;

Player has armour with a 10 STR requirement. He has 15 STR. Only 5 of his 10 AGI will actually increase his speed. If he levels his STR to 20, however, all 10 AGI will speed him up. Nice idea, eh?

Well, my idea was that the more armor you have, the less percentage of damage you take, the more uncommon and rare the armor piece gets, it will give bonuses to stats.
