| These generic rules OUGHT to go without saying for ANY forum, but apparently there always comes a time when they must be enumerated as such:
*No flaming- this means speaking/arguing negatively and/or rudely towards one or more members of the forum publicly within a thread. If you have a personal complaint to make towards a specific person, use the PM system please.
*No racisim
*No sexisim
*No spamming- this has several interpretations but for this board, this means posting either short meaningless posts
in multiple threads to either increase your post count or to just annoy the other members or because you are bored, or posting the same thing over and over and flooding the forums with nonsense, or repeatedly and purposely making the threads go off-topic.
*No necroposting (bringing dead topics back to life with something totally off topic or something that has already been said within the topic- usually these are topics that are older than a month)
*Keep double posting to a minimum (ie, try to use the EDIT button, that's what it's there for)
*Stay ON TOPIC- do not post something random for the sake of it being random. If you have nothing of value to contribute to a thread other than utter silliness, then it is advised you don't post.
*AVOID ONE WORD REPLIES!! There is not a feature on this forum to restrict the minimum number of characters a person can type in a thread, but if there is going to be a general rule, then it would be to avoid typing anything LESS than 20-30 characters long. Smilies do NOT count towards this limit.
*Use PM's for everything of a "personal" nature
*If you want to say something that you would not want your (step)mother, (step)father, teacher, school offical, boss, any other kind of official, younger sibling, niece, nephew, or the kid you babysit for, seeing, then it is HIGHLY suggested that it remain OFF the forums and in personal, private PMs if necessary.
***There WILL be warnings issued for people who apparently blatantly disregard ANY of these rules. Using the defense of "I didn't know" will NOT get you off the hook. Too many warnings accumulated will result in a temporary 1-day ban. Too many repeated violations after the first ban will result in a longer ban at the discretion of the offense. We are all mature here, there should be hopefully no need for anyone to be banned, but it will happen if it must.***
