Religion is just a reason for 95% of its participants to complain about whatever they want. |

If people are deeply offended and the company feels that it is important to not offend these potential customers, then more power to 'em. The company didn't really have to recall the game, but choose to in order to keep a positive rapport with a customer base. |

Yeah, its a good business move. However, the complaining in general annoys me. |

not in the state that it was in. I doubt the non purchase of this demographic would affect the sales of the game much but, it is good for a company to keep good PR. No one likes the big bad corporation persona. |

I'm not. there is a group of us, not necessarily a very big one that has rather strong beliefs that as my friend put it "noone has the right to not be offended" I feel that ideas hobbies etc. should be able to be put out regardless of if they offend certain groups of individuals. When I see organizations cave to demands about slightly offensive material it pisses me off. I don't want censorship so that no one is offended. Granted regardless of who you are things will be said / done that offend you get over it you should not be able to control what other people do just so you are not offended. It makes me feel like what others define as righteousness is being forced down my throat. There are millions of ways to view what is offensive so just take your views and enjoy them and leave me to mine please. |

so do you feel that the song with the offensive lyrics is a strong aspect of the game and is needed for proper playing of the game? Or do you feel that the song really makes little difference? Let's assume that the latter is true. If a song that makes little impact on the game as a whole is deeply offensive, is it a big deal to remove the offending song? Does it change your gaming experience in a negative way? I think I get what you are saying and Carlos Menica has been shouting it over and over for quite some time. I think you are saying that people tend to be over sensitive to little things that are really no big deal. I agree with that a lot of the time. People take their faith seriously, as well they should. Yes, it is messed up that people feel the need to "waste" a companies money so that one song in a game isn't offensive. But isn't also ok to sometimes be sensitive to people's sensitivity? If something truly bothers me, say the manner in which a person speaks to me, am I out of line in asking this person to change how they communicate with me? If this person doesn't change, I have the choice of simply ignoring the behavior or I can discontinue conversation with him. Hopefully, this person would be sensitive to my sensitivity. Do we agree that would be the "good" thing to do? A small sacrifice for a better relationship. I suppose a question that arises is: How much is too much to ask? I really cannot say, it probably has something to do with the ratio of how difficult is the change and what does it mean if the offending party chooses not to change. Also taking in account what is gained from the change. Back to the real point. It is not my place to say whether or not someone should be offended. I think there are real places where people will be offended and are completely justified in their thinking. I also think that it is perfectly acceptable to be considerate of peoples feelings. There is a motto I have that goes like this: Flexible people don't get bent out of shape easily. |

I, personally, think that people need to stop being so sensitive. Less sensitivity leads to less conflict. Not in the manner of "not changing to meet others bitching" but in the manner of "the others not bitching in the first place". This can go back and forth forever, "but what about peoples emotions" "what about what counts as major problems?" "what qualifies a major problem" "what about blah blah", but ultimately I stand firm on my stance of "stop all of your fucking crying". |

in quick response joven almost everything offends someone. and well in this case its not a huge deal but the policy itself is kinda dangerous... fahrenheit 451 anyone. I'm just against the whole concept if something offends you don't deal with it or decide its not going to bother you. |
