We tried to change but the Tranny pub is all booked out! We will stay in the trailer park down the road.

Miller is looking at getting a flight from Brisbane to Newcastle, flying in around 2pm, so it looks like we might be there a little earlier than expected. About 40mins from airport to the club??? And a very cruisy 8.5hr drive from Brisbane to the airport.

I'll do the first stint to the border then the rest of the gang can take it from there!

We(with a bit of luck) will be at the club by 1530. 1/2 an hour to rig the boat then the rest of the afternoon to get onit.

The boat hasn't been to Jenny Craig yet, but might get there for the Nationals.

Guys

Looking forward to a great regatta looks like we will have 12 boats so should be a lot of fun.

A few are arriving on Friday for some welcoming cocktails at the Toronto Hotel

Last year we launched next to next to Lifestyle Marine and it was a bit crowded but has a wharf to tie up to. Last weekend I launched further north off Anzac Pde in Lions Park and there is heaps of room. The only issue is there is no wharf and it is a bit shallow for a fair way out so you have to keep the keel up. So shot her in and then motor around to the club and someone drive = around with the trailer.

The plan is to eat at the club on Saturday night for those interested. A good chance to meet our friends from North of the border. We may then retire for more cocktails at the Toronto Hotel.

Captain Cranky should have the Sailing Instructions finished by now so he can email them out to you all.

Forecasts are for NE on Sat and NNE on Sunday and 15 to 23 degrees. But after last weekend I = don't believe them

Finally a bit of History
The Excelsior Land Investment and Banking Company purchased the whole of the estate in 1885 with plans for the creation of a tourist resort.

It is believed that the Toronto Hotel built of local bricks in 1887 was erected on the site of THRELKELD's mission house.
A suitable name for the town had yet to be chosen and at that particular time Edward HANLON, World rowing champion was visiting New South Wales from the city of Toronto in Canada. To capitalise on publicity, the name Toronto was selected for the new resort on Lake Macquarie. Toronto is an Iriquois Indian name meaning "MeetingPlace

See you all then

From the team of DangerZone, thank you to everyone for making the NSW States a great regatta. That was the best event we have been to so far and I think we have gained a lot of experience and information on how to make these boats go. Well done to RC.
