Guys, Could be a little premature in saying this (and I don't want to jinx myself), but TBS could be there! I may even have an all-star crew! And best of all, The Boss is agreeable to all of the above! I have also been granted another day of leave (over an above the month or so I'm already having) to bring the boat back! Still have some work to do on the crew situation, because The Boss will only provide her blessing if the crew is right. So that is the hinge-pin. Anyway, who's going so I can talk it up. |

It's about time you decided to come to the party! Great to hear. So far entered Need for Speed Huntress Flying Doctor Humungus Probables WalterTurnbull Mitchells Elusive Woof Escapade Formula Pye Taking Back Sunday Don't know Nervous Aeolus Evergreen(with possible womens match race team on board) Vavavoom Comfortably Numb and there are a few others from SA and Vic. Don't know about Queenslanders So a probable fleet of 12 or 13 boats at this stage. |

Thanks Gus, That's a pretty good fleet for a sports boat class in Australia. I'm trying my best, but as I have previously mentioned, I've got to convince the preferred crew to attend. There's still a long road ahead (both symbolically and literally) before we're on the start line, but there's a glimmer of hope and where there's a will, there's plenty of ways! I was thinking that if TBS can't get there because of the crew issue, I might fly down anyway and see if anyone will take me as crew, because I still want to sail the regatta. |

So there's nine. That's pretty decent. Ten if I come. Looks like I'm not going to have too many hassles getting good crew. We're going to make the call when we've finished the Cherub Nationals at RQYS - entries close 09th December 2008 if you don't want to pay the late fee. When is everyone leaving to head down? Are most people driving there in one hit, or are there some who plan on doing it over two days? |

All the Canberra guys usually drive in one day. It is a comfotable one day trip for us and it wouldn't be too bad for you if you rotate. Jimmy has the rule you can drink once you have finished your driving stint. So he takes the first shift out of Sydney. The last driver remains sober for the whole trip and then has to put up with a car full of pissheads for his turn at the wheel going into Geelong. |

Tough times. I think my pooncy crew want to fly down, so I'm only taking one co-driver, which probably works out well - less weight in the car equals less fuel. If they choose to fly, it's at their expense, whereas they could get a free ride down with me. The service in the Mazda is better than on Crapstar too - and no $250.00 excess baggage charges like last year... You can fit a lot of stuff in the boot of a big Mazda, and even more in an Elliott 7! |

I usually drive to Albury in the afternoon evening and then the rest the next day. 5 1/2 hour and 3 1/2 hours. You get the crew to fly in the day you arrive and go for a sail that afternoon. Last year I drove home in one hit on my own and it was hard yakka. This year I am flying home. Crapstar tickets are under $100 |

Yeah that's probably what I'm going to do, except I'll drive home in one day with a co-pilot. Who's going to tow Woof from Geelong to Sydney? Depending on how I feel and what to co-pilot wants to do, we may just drive there in one hit, have a nice sleep in the next morning then head to the ramp, get the rig stood and move the boat into a pen first thing, then pickup the crew/beer/food etc and go for an arvo sail. Do you guys know it is a "wet regatta" as in you're not allowed to pull your boat out of the water until the end of the final race? Like you guys, I don't have anti-foul. How long does marine growth take. Some guys reckon you'll have some sludge after two days. Looks like I'll be bringing a snorkel and mask, although one of the other crew reckons it'll be right for the whole week. Who's right? |

Wet regatta, to much drinking time wasted goign back to the ramp each day and pulling it out. you don't slime in three days, Need for Speed have a special additive they put in the pond where we tie up, its called lite beer |

No one bothers cleaning the hull during Geelong. We even leave the road insect on which soak off after 3 days. Are you coming Andrew? |

Not to mention a Geelong week only lasts 3 days anyway! Are you coming Andrew? And anyone else, late entries come in next week, quite a waste of good beer money. |
