NSW State Titles will be at the Royal Motor Yacht Club Toronto, Lake Macquarie. Accomodation can be found at http://www.torontochamber.com.au/ Plenty of eateries within walking distance. 3 ramps within 1km, though YC should suffice. The locals guarantee a good time! NOTICE OF RACE FOR THE ELLIOTT 7 NSW STATE TITLES 6TH & 7TH OCTOBER 2007 CONDUCTED BY THE ROYAL MOTOR YACHT CLUB TORONTO, LAKE MACQUARIE & PROUDLY SPONSORED BY Dimension Polyant The 2007 Elliott 7 NSW State Titles will be conducted by the Royal Motor Yacht Club on the 6th and 7th October 2007. The Organising Authority (OA) will be the Royal Motor Yacht Club Toronto (RMYC). 1. RULES 1.1 All racing will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008 (RRS) of the International Sailing Federation (SAF) as amended, this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions. The rules for changes to the boats equipment and settings will be detailed in the Sailing Instructions. Class rules of the Elliott Class Association shall apply. 1.2.1 In the event of conflict between any of the rules and regulations, other than the RRS, the Sailing Instructions will prevail. 2. ADVERTISING 2.1 The Regatta is classified as a Category C event in accordance with the ISAF Advertising Code. 2.2 Competitors may be required to display Event sponsors name(s)/logo(s) and bow numbers. If required, the Organisation Authority will supply these items and they shall be affixed and/or worn as prescribed in the Sailing Instructions. 3. ELIGIBILITY and ENTRY 3.1 The regatta is open to all Elliott 7 class boats, registered with the Australian class association 3.2 Eligible boats may enter on the official Entry Form. The fully completed entry form shall be received at the entry address no later than 1700hrs on the Friday 5th October 2007, accompanied by the required fee (refer Fees). 3.3 Late entries may be accepted after the closing date at the discretion of the Organising Authority, but will be subject to a late entry supplement. 3.4 Each boat shall produce a valid CAT 7 Safety Certificate. 4. FEES 4.1 Entry fees will be $80, payable at the time of entry. 5. SCHEDULE OF RACES Date Time Event Sat 6 October 1210 Warning signal for first race 1220 Start first race ASAP after race 1 Race 2 ASAP after race 2 Race 3 ASAP after race 3 Race 4 Sun 7 October 1150 Warning signal for race 5 1200 Race 5 start ASAP after race 5 Race 6 start ASAP after race 6 Race 7 1700 Presentation function 6. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS 6.1 Will be available from the RMYC Sailing Office by 28th September and will be posted on the RMYC notice board. They will also be posted on the RMYC website at www.rmyctoronto.com.au by 28th September 2007. 7. RACING AREA 7.1 Races shall be conducted on Lake Macquarie in the general area between RMYC, Cardiff Point and Coal Point. 8. COURSES 8.1 The course will be determined by the race committee and as described in the Sailing Instructions. 9. PENALTIES 9.1 Decisions of the protest committee will be final as provided in rule 70.4. 10 SCORING 10.1 The Low point scoring system RRS Appendix applies. 10.2 Three races are required to be completed to constitute a series. 10.3 When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat series score will be the total of her race scores. 10.4 When 5 or more races have been completed, a boat series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. 11 RESPONSIBILITIES 11.1 Risk Warning The Organising Authority advises owners, skippers and anyone who participates in yachting events conducted by the Organising Authority that participation in the sport of yachting, whether racing or otherwise, can be dangerous and can result in harm, personal injury and property damage. The Organising Authority is not responsible for any harm or injury suffered by any person in any yachting event conducted by the Organising Authority of whatever nature. All participants acknowledge that competing in yachting events may be dangerous and may result in harm or personal injury and participate in such events aware of such dangers and voluntarily accept any risk of harm. 11.2 Competitors Declaration All competitors who sign the entry form in doing so have made a declaration to the Organising Authority that the nominated boat will at all times while racing comply with the requirements of Yachting Australia and the Sailing Instructions, including: (a) RRS 46 and the responsibility of the person in charge of the boat to ensure that the crew complies with RRS 55; (B) The person who signs and lodges the entry form with the Organising Authority warranting to the Organising Authority that he or she will draw the attention of any person who competes on the yacht the subject of entry form in any event conducted by the Organising Authority to the risk warning above; © The person who signs and lodges the entry form with the Organising Authority acknowledging receipt of the risk warning above and releasing the Organising Authority from any claim or liability whatsoever for any harm or personal injury suffered by him, or by any person claiming through him, in any event conducted by the Organising Authority. 11.3 Responsibilities (a) All those taking part in these races do so at their own risk and responsibility. Specific attention is drawn to RRS 4 which states; The responsibility for a boats decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone. The RMYC, sponsors, any Class Association, the Race Committee and other race officials are not responsible for any damage or injury either afloat or ashore. (B) All those taking part in these races are reminded of their obligations as set out in the Yachting Australia Special Regulations clause 1.02 Owners Responsibility. © PFDs are to be worn should the Starting Boat display Code Flag Y. 12 PRIZES All trophies and prizes will be presented at the RMYC at the presentation function to be held at 1700 on 7 October 2007. 12.1 Prizes to first, second and third placed teams for the championship as well as handicap, will be presented at the presentation. 12.2 A NEW GENOA COURTESY OF DIMENSION POLYANT and MITCHELL SAILS & RIGGING will be drawn from ALL ENTRIES WHO COMPETE AT LEAST TWO THIRDS OF RACES SAILED. 12.3 Other prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the Organising Committee and the Class Association. 13 LAUNCHING 13.1 RMYC facilities are available. 13.2 Overnight trailer storage is available adjacent to the Club 14 SOCIAL AND ACCOMMODATION 14.1 RMYC BBQ facilities will be made available on Saturday evening for competitors. 14.2 A list of accommodation is available at the Chamber of Commerce Toronto, www.torontochamber.com.au 15 DRESS REQUIREMENTS 15.1 Skippers and their crew are required to be appropriately dressed at all times while racing.
