Trying to get some interest from the other E7 sailers up here.

With the Surf to City just finished, the season just about to start it would be good to get the other 5 boats on the hardstand out on the water.

Regattas coming up!

Moreton Bay Classic. 10/11 Feb.

Race 1 Combined Clubs.

Come on guys get your boats out on the water.

BTW Go Go Mango came down from Gladestone to do the S2C yet only 1 out of 5 or 6 local boats did the race. I wish we could get some more boats out on the water.

Barman, one issue at times is crew, so if you can gather a list of names then that will be one less problem. We don't have to many difficulties with crew, usually people just need to ask around. When I was driving and running a boat we had a list of 10. Then we peeled off guys to other boats.

We have accom booked for B2B and may get 4-5 southerners up there.

Race 1 for the Combined Clubs saw 2 E7's on the water. 5-22knots. We need to keep an eye out for the start gun in future as we missed the start by 2mins. :( 25nm out around Peel Island and back, great day with a few squalls causing massive wind shifts up the windward beat. We rounded the top mark just behind an E7.8, still amazing how well E7's go upwind. They blew us away to the finish but we had a good run home with the tide helping us all the way. Lost a bod(I Miller)over the side but lucky he held the jib sheet and scrambled over the back. 12.7kn top speed with the GPS. :D Fixed my C/board probs, did not swing at all upwind. :D :D

All in all a great day out on the water.

Another Combined clubs race on Sunday. Danger Zone can you get some crew organised so we have someone to race?

Barman - sadly not happening. Fully committed on project until June. Feeling guilty about keeping a great class boat off the water. Should probably move aside and sell to someone who has more time. Hmm tough one...

Hey Qlders, Whats the scoop on Wintersun? We're thinking of coming up for it and maybe bringing a few more boats up from the colder regions!

4th & 5th August. Must get cold down there for you guys to want to travel up here to go racing. Always welcome of course. Another big night at Canaipa. Not as many boats as the B2B though.

Went out yesterday 3 up plus the two kids. Breeze kicked from the west on the way back from Peel Is so we dropped from #1 to the #2. Just a question from guys that know, is how big are #2's suppose to be. Mine has almost the same foot length as my #3 but the 3 is much higher cut. Is that right?

260kgs with over 20knots upwind was not fun!!!

HI Barman,

We don't carry 3's. Normally go 2 from 15-18, then racing gets canned after consistent 25. Of course we would be at least 360!

Under Cat 5 rules I have to carry a number 3 but I know what you mean, the problem was we only had three adults on deck except for when the missus had to go below to look after the little one. It was a struggle upwind all the way home.

On the other hand went out on the weekend with over 400kgs and it loved it on the two sail up the river with the 1 up.

Yes Jim Go Go Mango has apparently been sold to a guy here in Brisbane!
