"What the fuck kinda name is Robot 2 anyway" edition == OLYMPUS BASED GOD SWAG SWAG SWAG == Bots that will easily make playoffs and have a good chance of winning the entire thing. FW * Hat Garage - Yep, this one's probably gonna win. Faster than the horde of speed wedges, only a handful of spinners to take advantage of it's middling 11 armor. * RipTide - Black Dog, except it's blue and not black at all. Talk about whitewashing smh. * Vorpal Bunny - I'm seeing a lot of 10/11 armored wedges here. Hmmmm... LW * Krakatoa - Assuming Madman just dumps the same stats into Robot Two[tm] that he's used for other tournies, it should be a pretty easy road to 1st or 2nd place. * Terpsichora - Normally this would be a tier or two lower by virtue of being a wedged VS with lots of weapon, but there's a surprising lack of faster 2WD/pressing wedges in the field. MW * Blue Max - Rooster Teeth-level of instability means it's gonna be hard for bricks to pin this down. * Dredd - If any of my bots make finals, it's gonna be this one. Calling it now. * Neurotoxin - It has a lot of wacky options it can go to in order to avoid falling into the void of predictable brick strats. HW * Lambastor - Actually a very decent design that could go deep. This is assuming TBR uses the 5 power axe as a means to control/clamp the opponent and not to damage. * Neuromancer - Clickety clack down the track it's lots and lots of setups. Yep, that's my constructive feedback. Please clap. * Grapes of Wrath - I forget if this did any good in REDDIT but I'm betting on it sniping the tops of a few robots. * Coronal Mass Ejection - Pretty standard "fast flipper" design. It definitely works, though. == EASY MONEY EASY LIFE == Bots that will likely make playoffs but probably won't get past semis. FW * Apocalyptic Peacekeeper - Has a very real chance of getting to finals, just has to avoid getting Vorpal'd. Unfortunately for it, Vorpal's a bot I see getting into semis very easily. * Buzzcut - nice wedge * Vicious - This could either be one tier above or below if the writer decides to make flails not work. LW * Backstab 3 - NANI?! H-HE'S FAST!! Will struggle to get the weapon into play. * BURGER PRINCESS - I'm gonna go like 4-0 or 3-1 or whatever then draw Lilian in the playoffs. * Lilian - Lots of plowstacker + HS to eat, but hinged wedge holds it back. I'm also not sure if it can beat some of the melties. * Flash Flood Mk2 - Hey. Nice wedgelets you've got there. Sure would be a shame if an HS... hit them for corner damage, huh? MW * Dragonfist - I like this. It's 1 point over 30, but it might be able to actually knock out some of the bricks ranked above it. * Gigaflare - See: Bluebot except this one has a lot better of a wedge. Expect it to have a surprisingly decent run similar to Petunia in Battlebots. * Hati - WATCH OUT EVERYONE THE DOORSTOP OF DOOM IS HERE * S P E E D - Actually has 8 traction and not 9. Still good enough for an easy playoffs run, though. Will get killed by Blue Max and possibly even Outrage 2. * Vortex 2 - Neglected Waterbug 2 baybeeee HW * Carbon Z - Those are some hella long forks. * Hellhound V - Will flip Magnolia Grande over like a pancake. I'd also like to note that the wedgelet setup for this thing is buried all the way at the bottom of the imgur album and only a passing mention of it is made in the post itself. Therefore I am lowering it a rank completely out of spite. ![]() * Magnolia Grande - Can't wait for this to get flipped over like a pancake. * Tongue of the Fatman - I can probably score OOTAs from center-stage within 1-2 flips. Problem is actually getting under the opponent. == THE RAT RACE == Bots that may or may not get into playoffs. FW * Bruxish - 7 speed, 3 traction. Ouch! Driving at the 75% minimum throttle makes it a bit more bearable at 5spd/3tra, saving it from being in the bottom tier. * Epic Waluigi - Depends if this thing's written as lopping off wheels on 11/12 armor bots or not. I think 2 or 3 corner damage should do the trick, but we'll see. * Salamandra - The 9 powered saw isn't going to really cut into much, effectively meaning it's wasted points. Would be a lot higher if it had a 5 power clamp variant. * Runaway Rabbit - Probably struggles to get under bots with wedgelets. * The Beast From The West - 13 weapon might struggle against some of the bots without armor bonuses. LW * Bluebot - Will probably have to rely more on dealing whatever damage it can and transferring that to JD wins. OOTAs aren't out of the question either. * Icebreaker - Could see this getting a KO or two. If it doesn't, though, it'll have a hard time getting the same JD victories that Bluebot will get. * ramshock - 8 armor makes this food for the hammer * Splashdown - Won't actually be able to get under anything when not meltying, because 14 speed 4 traction lol. Even the "I don't have to drive at full speed" clause puts him at 10.5 -> 11 speed at minimum. * Twin Typhoons - Could pull off some "upsets" by striking the backs of plowstackers. Or it could get pushed for 3 minutes instead, lol. MW * Axtinguisher - Really strong weapon, but probably will get bulldozed by bricks. * Black Dog II - This would be a lot higher had it not been for the fact that Gabe's yoinking it's weapon armor bonus away. * Flame Grilled - Literally just Axtinguisher but with slightly different stats. Performance will likely mirror that of it's counterpart. * Frogbot 2000 - Every opponent's RP will include the term "angle in" at least once. HW * StarStruck - "Srimech TBA". As of writing, still has no srimech. * Tulta Munille - Wolf thinks he can mack on me with that 10 power flipper. Also I'm pretty sure the hammer will see exactly 0 usage unless you want to lose. * Tabor Mk. 2 - Will be written as having way more oversteer than it should. * Vertigo 3 - Will slowly slip n slide around when pitted up against some of the more aggressive 8 speed bricks here. == UH OH SPAGHETTI-O == Will end up with more L's than W's for one reason or another. FW * Excessive Force - Can't win if you aren't around to RP. Sad! * The Mafia - Might beat the few spinners here, maybe. Will get clownstomped by faster wedges without hinges. * to fry - It's like Epic Waluigi except bad, and EW isn't exactly a hyper-optimized top-tier design to begin with. So, uh... * Tree Surgeon - Big green iceberg that'll get blammed by 90% of it's opponents. Might take a win or 2 but that's about it. LW * Der Metzgermeister - where the robot at * Goldschlager - No driver no W's. Womp womp. * Hobart - Spins up. Gets scratched by opponent weapon. Dies. I'm pretty sure most bricks are able to KO this thing with only 2 armor. * Killjoy 2 - Gets outdriven by bricks and smashed up by spinners. * Magnolia Piccolino - where the robot at tho? MW * I'm sure you already know that I put bots without a picture/driver into this category by now, so let's get them out of the way: Finishing Move, Revenant. * Champ - This one's kinda borderline between being in this tier and the rat race tier, but I think the tiny hinged wedge will prevent it from winning much. * Outrage 2 - Fuck outta here b. That's going to bend on impact even though you insist it doesn't. ![]() * smackdown v2.0 - 13 weapon, 3 body armor, and does 6 corner damage to itself every time the axe fires. Cue the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme. HW * Boy Flaily - wew lad * Eidolon - No driver no wins etc etc et al * Highland Fling 2 - This isn't going to work the way you're hoping it will. * I.C.R. Speedwagon - I think this is a 4wd static wedge? Not seeing any hinges for the front wedge, nor anything of that sort mentioned in the description. These are also pneumatic flippers and not lifters, meaning they can't press. |

Featherweight Rankings High tier (Bots that are gonna do well): Riptide: This should win something eventually. Will this be the year? Vicious (If the writers decide the flails are Scourge level) Vorpal Bunny: Big scary spinner that Gabe was talking about in signups. Hat Garage: Not too many big spinners, and this can outspeed most of the w0dges here. Mid tier (Bots that might do well, might not): Private Iron: Salamandra: Will probably get written to do well coz SawBlaze. Seems like an alright stat setup too. Buzzcut: W0dge Low tier (Bots that will probably have a close to even win-loss range, or negative): Runaway Rabbit: Fuck I forgot the wedgelets again Bruxish: Too big of a speed/traction split for my liking. Beast from the West: 13 Weapon isn’t good in this field. Epic Waluigi Vicious (If the writers decide the flails are not Scourge level) Apocalyptic Peacekeeper: Looks fun, not sure how it’ll do though. Trash tier (What is this crap): Shaba’s entry: Doesn’t seem to exist. The Mafia: Idk on rulings on cannons, but I doubt a 1 Weapon one will do much. Even if it supposedly gets ten shots total. The real weapon is also underpowered for this field. Tree Surgeon: Wat To Fry |

Featherweights Firebird Division 1: Hat Garage. The effectiveness of a puncher may be limited with no arena hazards, but it’s still quick, powerful, has one of the best wedges around, and it’s an Angry Goat bot. This is my pick to take the division. 2: Buzzcut. It’s fast, it’s a brick, it has a good wedge… I only really see Hat Garage beating this. 3: The Beast From The West. An agile vertical spinner with a good wedge, enough power to cause serious damage to a lot of bots, and there’s only one other spinner. However, Team TBR’s driving has disappointed in the past. 4: Riptide. A fast control spinner. The weapon could be dangerous to the group’s other spinners, but it won’t do anything to the bricks, and it’s not immune to the spinners either. 5: Private Iron. An incredibly hard-hitting vertical spinner, but that poor control could really hurt it. Its wedge’s effectiveness is also very limited. 6: Bruxish. “Speed: 7… Traction: 3”. Ouch. Even with “I don’t always have to drive at full speed” shenanigans it’s effectively limited to 5 speed, which combined with its narrow front is going to make it very hard for it to fight control bots. The weapon is frightening since it can OOTA over every wall but I don’t think it’ll be able to do much with it in practice. 7: The Mafia. I’m afraid the minibots are just too slow to make a lot of difference. With a slow drivetrain and a hinged wedge it will suffer HARD against control bots. The Mech Armor config can probably take care of some spinners, but it’s still fairly slow, doesn’t have much of a weapon, and if an opponent can get past its wedge it’s toast. 8: Tree Surgeon. Not an amazing drivetrain. The armor is decent, but unfortunately both the spinners in the division are verts that outwedge it and can do significant damage / toss it around. With its mediocre drivetrain and wedge the weaponry is unlikely to be a big factor, especially with its lack of reach. Vorpal Bunny Division 1: Vorpal Bunny. The class’s obligatory monster weapon. Will lose hard to Runaway Rabbit and possibly Salamandra, but anybody else will have to get a KO quickly because otherwise they aren’t lasting 3 minutes. I don’t think any of the other spinners are in good shape against a horizontal like this. I know I’m jinxing myself here, but… 2: Salamandra. Effectively a VERY brick-y wedge with a decent drivetrain. The saw is a threat to To Fry, Vicious, and Epic Waluigi, but I’m not expecting a knockout. 3: Captain Trips. Solid mid-tier brick. 4: Runaway Rabbit. This thing is an absolute tank. I don’t see any of the spinners hurting it, although it doesn’t have the drivetrain to effortlessly control the match. Has an OOTA-capable flipper, but it doesn’t have a great wedge and will struggle against the control bots in the group due to its mediocre drivetrain. 5: Apocalyptic Peacekeeper. A quick, agile clamp. Not sure if I buy it being OOTA-capable at that size, and because it lifts forward Square Wave Syndrome is a possibility. The effectiveness of its wedge may also vary. 6: Epic Waluigi. Big-ass wheels. This is dangerous, especially if it monstertrucks you, but it’s also a massive glass cannon. In practice the horizontals (Vicious and Vorpal Bunny) can probably outreach it, Runaway Rabbit’s too tough, and Salamandra might not be monster-truck-able. 7: Vicious. F L A I L M E L T Y. Fighting as a wedge is pretty much dead in the water due to the high-speed-traction penalty, and mounting the sturdy wedge will put its flails “weapon armor” into self-KO territory, so that’s pretty much all it is. It should be able to take apart To Fry and Epic Waluigi, but those are its only good matchups. 8: To Fry. This is… one of the better stat lines I’ve seen from Pat actually. It’s not wedging anything and will gyro quite a bit, but it hits hard enough that even flat surface damage is a threat to many opponents in this group. However, dedicated spinner-killers will stuff it fairly easily and its chassis has very poor armor. Lightweights Elrathia Divison 1: Flash Flood 2. B R I C K. And the only really good one in its group, too. 2: Lilian. Hey, Reinhardt’s back. This hammer has a decent drivetrain, its wedge will stuff the horizontal spinners in here, and its hammer’s a KO threat to everything but MAYBE Flash Flood. 3: Splashdown. Well the high-speed traction penalty makes melties driving normally utter garbages, so the wedges won’t do much. However, it still has near-instantaneous spinup, decent weapon armor, and hits fairly hard. 4: Icebreaker. I question the wisdom of counter-rotating rings, especially since it takes a vital weapon point away (but the tracks compensate for it). Horizontals need to hit HARD to get wins, and this one just doesn’t. However, this isn’t an armor-heavy division. 5: Bluebot. Control spinner with a decent drivetrain, but not great wedges. Might get Zombie Killered. 6: Twin Typhoons. So, two melty spinners that don’t hit hard enough to KO anything with a decent wedge, translate slowly, and aren’t durable enough to survive a sustained attack from most spinners. 7: Der Metzgermeister. Interesting concept, with an overhead spinner. Unfortunately with 8 armor on those wedges and three horizontals or melties in its division, not enough power to KO Flash Flood, and questionable matchups against Lilian and Bluebot, it ain’t making the playoffs. 8: Hobart. 2 chassis armor is VERY suspect. Don’t sneeze on it. Hits hard, but has mediocre wedges especially considering the inevitable gyro-ing. Pyrite Division 1: Krakatoa. DICKS. WILL. BE. EATEN. One of the best wedges in here, and a good drivetrain, and good armor everywhere. 2: Burger Princess. Burger King Foot Princess. Okay, it’ll lose to Backstab 3 and probably Krakatoa. And no one else. 3: The Thieving Magpie. Quick flipper, good wedge, enough power to possibly OOTA. 4: Terpsichora: This spinner has a decent drivetrain and a very low front wedge. Aside from Burger Princess it’s a threat to every robot in the division since it can launch opponents and take out wheels, but it doesn’t have any insanely good matchups either. 5: Backstab 3. Speedy brick, but not the best wedge. Can tank all the spinners from the front, might have trouble if a vert can chain hits on it. But Krakatoa, TMP, and Ramshock all out-wedge it and have similar drivetrains, and it suffers from the same non-useful-weapon problems as the original Backstab 6: Dreamchaser. Mecanum Drum. Inferior wedges mean it will have problems against the very good wedges of, uh, most of this division. 7: Ramshock. Same old ramshock. The weak front lifter makes it vulnerable to spinners, the Square Wave Syndrome makes it vulnerable to control bots. 8: Killjoy II. 6 speed, 3 traction, control-based weapon. There’s also no way in hell that plow meets the 33% limit. Saw isn’t powerful enough to do anything in this division. Middleweights Black Dog Division 1: Neurotoxin. Well-armored brick. Not sure about the combination clamp/lifter weapon, but it’s still got a good wedge. 2: Hati. Combines a very fast drivetrain with a low wedge. 3: Harpy. Very fast, very underall-wedge-having, but that gives it the worst wedge of these bricks. 4: Frogbot. Not the quickest of these bricks or the most durable, but it has the best wedge and is OOTA capable. However, it’s not beating any opponent in the bottom four that the other bricks won’t, and it’s at serious risk of losing by KO to the two horizontal spinners. 5: Dragonfist. I don’t trust those flails to do much to Hati, Gigaflare, Harpy, or Neurotoxin, but it wins weapon-to-weapon against Blue Max, can tear apart Frogbot and Axtinguisher. 5: Blue Max: I really would have gone for the 4-3 drivetrain considering the risk of those wheels getting hit, but it should still murder Frogbot and Axtinguisher. 7: Axtinguisher. Okay, so these horizontals are going to murder it with only 9 front armor, and this division has three robots that can literally ignore its weapon. Frogbot can take a little damage, but has better drive, a better wedge, and is OOTA-capable. Its best chance for a win is against Gigaflare. 8: Gigaflare. CRUSHA. It should be able to just absorb the hits from the division’s two spinners, but it against any of the control bots its a slow clamp with no KO power, and its anti-spinner plow won’t protect it from Axtinguisher. Depth Charge Division 1: Black Dog II. In this div it honestly doesn’t matter if he gets the weapon-armor bonus denied. It’s quick, still has a very good wedge, and its hard enough that you really don’t want it getting under you. 2: Dredd. No way that thing meets the 33% limit. But it still has good armor, a fast drivetrain, and… okay, not a good weapon. 3: Vortex. Kind of a slow, awkward control spinner. I think it’d be much better with an actual flipper. 5: Outrage. It’s made of spaghetti. It’ll get some insane hits, though. Half this division can get two-shotted by it, so it can easily put wins on the board or even make the playoffs. 6: Flame Grilled. A powerful hammer that actually works. Which still isn’t saying much, since there’s not much it’ll actually KO that won’t KO it back. 7: Champ. It has a powerful clamp, yes, but it has a mediocre drivetrain and a horrible wedge. It could even grab someone and get pushed around anyway. Finally that armor won’t stand up to Outrage or Black Dog. 8: Smackdown v2. Will literally break itself trying to self-right. Have fun with that, Pat. Admittedly might take out a bot or two in the process, but still. Heavyweights Coup de Grace Division 1: Hellhound. Lol it’s back. It’s got some spinners to kill, and has the best drivetrain in its group. 2: Neuromancer. Insane drivetrain, fast lifter, has good wedge options. However, its frontal armor seems a bit weak given the monster spinners in this group. 3: Coronal Mass Ejection. Drivetrain’s in the top three and not far behind the others. It has a good wedge, is OOTA-capable, and its wedge is sturdy enough that even against Grapes of Wrath it can survive a stray hit. 4: Grapes of Wrath. It’s back too. It’ll gyro like hell, but there’s no room for error against that monster’s spinner. I think this will get enough wins to make the playoffs. 5: Tongue of the Fatman. There’s a 2 foot gap between the inner and outer walls. Half the time heavyweights will just bounce back in. It’s slightly less of a one-tricky pony this time, but not by much. 6: Magnolia Grande: It looks like he limited the individual weapon power to 15 this time? That’s actually going to really hurt it, because these are some strong bricks. 7: Boy Flaily. Lol. It’s going to get stuffed and flipped by everyone except for Lambastor, Grapes of Wrath, and Magnolia Grande. And the last two will dismember it. 8: Lambastor. A slow lifter, an axe that can’t damage anything much, a drivetrain that can’t really keep up with any control bots, and not enough armor to survive anyone with a serious destructive weapon. Team Team British Robotics does it again. The Arbiter Division 1: StarStruck. FINALLY someone gives their spinner enough traction. This thing can actually tear apart almost everything in its division. Gyroscopic forces will make it hard to overturn, and Wolf’s thing could oversteer and get its chassis shredded. 2: Death Metal. It’s got the perfect group this time! Lots of poorly-armored bots, with one of the only ones that can survive it screwed over by poor traction. It loses weapon-to-weapon against Starstruck, but I think it can easily go 5-2, and have trouble not making the playoffs. 3: Carbon Z. Guilden can actually win with this. It out-drives most of the division and can ignore most of the weapons, since the defensive mode is only needed for the horizontals. I think CMC will beat it, but I don’t think anything else will unless Guilden screws up his strategies badly. 4: The CMC. These things will actually be an incredible nuisance given that they have good wedges and a lot of these spinners aren’t that well-controlled. I think it can come out of this with a winning record despite getting eaten alive by the horizontals. 5: Tabor MkII: Well, it’s… less dysfunctional than last time. That armor bonus ain’t gonna work, though, including the weapon armor. 6: Vertigo. The pressing lifter is rendered ineffective by its bad drivetrain and will be easily angled in on. Its armor is vulnerable to spinners. Its weapon doesn’t hit that hard. 7: Highland Fling 2. I’m very skeptical of that weapon’s effectiveness, if nothing else because I don’t think most people are going to let it wedge them. 8: Tulta Munille: Lol 3 traction. Damnit, are ALL the veterans going to do this? |
