Plata O Plomo Speed: 5 | Traction: 5 | Torque: 2 | Armour: 9 | Weapon: 9 Glitch Speed: 6 | Traction: 4 | Torque: 1 | Armour: 5 (+1 crusher/arm) | Weapon: 14 (13+2 crusher/1 lifter) ---- Here's something obvious for you, Mr. Smart Aleck: modular bots can heck off and die. :V So honestly I'm expecting Gabe to be all smug and shit with his faster bot stating that I shouldn't get around him. Okay, three things. :V - you're only a bit faster tex. Like, one point. :V - I have perfect control. You... don't. :V - Your arm is pretty thin. Not too much, but enough for me to question it. :V :V :V :V What I mean is, I don't need or even want to get all the way around him, just use the fact his arm's thin and he has 6/4 disparity to angle in on those forks on his. When I do, flip the son of a bitch. Have fun surviving a 9-point flip impact with 4 body armour. :V Oh wait, that's not insta-kill. Still! :V He can self-right I guess, so keep flipping him until he dies. :V Okay, so I don't get around him. He gets under. He could jape and back off expecting a flip. So don't flip. Yet. Wait until my flipper's rode up the forks all the way. Then do it. You might have a 15-power crusher, bud, but you ain't hangin' on to me when I've got a powerful flipper to shake me loose before you can complete your crush, and no crusher is that fast. :V Also try and wiggle a bit during/after the shaking-self-loose flip, just to disorient him. :V If he tries to use his superior speed to get around me, sure. Just go at him and cut him off if he tries that nonsense.:V I can (kinda?) out-push him if I have to. If the flipper gets punctured to the point that it's useless, he's still not getting anything drivetrain vital and I have superior torque, so I'm hoping that helps in the speed+torque tie we have. :V tl;dr - words to convince the writer I can out-BS the other guy :V GL :V :V |

using the Crusher, as I'm sure he mentions. POP: Speed: 5 | Traction: 5 | Torque: 2 | Armour: 9 | Weapon: 9 Glitch: Speed: 6 / Traction: 4 / Torque: 1 / Weapon: 15 (13+2) / Weapon: 1 (Lifter) / Armor: 5 (+1 lifter arm and weapon) Two reasons I win the wedge war. 1) he has a massive hinged component that's going to make him slower than other 5 speed robots at turning/accelerating. 2) I have two relatively thin forks that can press, up against his flat wedge that is no better than hinged - I probably even beat him without pressing. with that in mind, I want to come out very cautiously to his wedge and just kinda...test things slowly. Keep the jaw relatively low down so I can get my clamp on quickly, and try to just press underneath him from the onset and get a good grab on. Obviously this all goes out the window if he's super aggressive (in which case lol I'll just press and let him drive into me for free), but do try for it. From there, I want to be cautiously aggressive - keep it slow and be ready to press/counter his angling in at any moment/run away if things go south due to oversteer, but do keep the pressure on him and try to force him into a corner or onto my crusher or whatever. just get him in the jaws. When I end up disabling his flipper, I can start trying to get to his back by ramping over the flipping plate and getting at his back before he and his giant hinged component can turn around to face me again. if I'm ever able to angle around the flipping plate and get at his wheelpods, jump at the chance. it's unlikely to happen but you never know. avoid getting flipped, I can't take that many of them (unless there's no flipper damage in this ruleset, in which case LUL (still avoid being flipped obviously :V). also if he tries to hazard camp/bait, just manuever such that he's stuck between me and the hazard/floor flipper - force him to have to expose his side to me. Just in general don't fall for any of the dumb shit he could try with this arena - him getting extra mobility off of a conveyor belt or hiding near flippers doesn't fundamentally endanger me, so I don't have to rashly engage until I can make the situation advantageous for me.
