Devil's Verdict Speed: 4 | Traction: 4 | Torque: 1 | Armour: 9 | Weapon: 12 (1/1/10) Wedgelord Speed: 7 | Traction: 7 | Torque: 4 | Armour: 11 | Weapon: 1 ---- At first I despaired. However, there is actually a deceptively easy way I can win this. Pulling it off is the more difficult part. I'm going to actually use the fact that I can't get under Wedgelord to my advantage here. See, Wedgelord is pretty bad inverted. I don't even think he can overhead thwack like that. How do I flip him, though? By using the arena. To start the match, I'm going to position myself where I can directly drive to where I want to go, in pretty much a straight line, before he can box rush me, then park myself beside one of the floor flippers, facing the direction the floor flipper would fire. I want to bait him into getting under my side, and even with his supreme wedgyness he probably wouldn't want to chance my front end. So he'd go after the side. Here's where things get muddy. I'm going into this expecting to be tossed by the floor flipper. But I want him caught in it as well, and when he's going after my side, I'm going to turn the other way and reverse up onto him just as he's about to push me onto the flipper. The result? We both get tossed, and I am hoping that he lands inverted. I... I can self-right. He can't. Not by himself, anyway. After that, I am fully expecting him to run away trying to use the floor flippers again to self-right. Don't immediately cruise after him, but find out which flipper he's going after and park myself where his trajectory would make him land right near me. It could be that the flipper keeps him inverted or some shit, but if he's righted, I can immediately get under and clamp him, removing his contact with the ground, before he even knows what's happening. Go to the flippers again, get tossed. I don't mind the air time. ![]() Either way, after he's inverted, IT'S SAWIN' TIME!!! No, it won't do much damage, but... b-but sparks! Judges love sparks, right?! If he's not buying it, just spin around until he decides to come, or do something to show I'm still mobile. Just not go near him. :V GL |

What just appeared in my hands?

Biggest threat here is the clamp thingies grabbing my thwack tail. As long as I don't sit around long enough for his 1-power (slow) clamps to grab it, I don't think that will be a major issue. Even if he succeeds in grabbing it, I can still push him around so it's not an issue. His saw does a neat 0 damage to me; I'd rather not let it hit me, but it's not a big deal if it does. Use speed advantage to angle the crap out of him and push him into the hazards. I'm pretty sure I beat his wedge head-on as well, so if angling in becomes a bad idea I'm fine with just going straight in as well. And here's where I have to address the weakness that I'm sure Kody picked up on, as did everyone else who wins tournaments regularly, and nobody said anything about it hoping I wouldn't notice until too late: Wedgelord suffers from sucks-inverted-itis. The simple solution is to not get flipped, which wouldn't be an issue here if not for the floor flippers in this arena. Thankfully, the very same floor flippers can flip me back as well. Until I'm flipped back, I'm in trouble, so I'll do my best to avoid him until I'm upright again. This is my one exception to the "don't drive myself into hazards" driving philosophy Other than that, don't be an idiot, don't drive myself into hazards (except for that one reason), etc. Good luck!
