The drum looks strong and it's got decent mobility, but I'm just under twice as fast as it, have sufficient armour to resist a few blows, and it's vulnerable to getting stuck on its sides either way. He can also reverse the drum, but he'll be very vulnerable because he needs to stop it for at least a few seconds to do so. I'll want to be aggressive and constantly force him onto the defence. Move out quickly, keep the nose to the ground, go for the sides/corners, and steer in sideways to stop him from turning the drum into my side. Force my way right under, and ONLY when I'm definitely underneath, pop him onto his back to nullify the skids. From there, mostly focus on keeping underneath and copying his movement patterns to stop him escaping, and comboing him with flips and rams into the walls, floor flippers, and spikes. Watch how he tries to adapt to my attacks, especially if he tries reversing the drum -- when it stops, that's the time to strike. If he doesn't, predominantly focus on keeping him and his drum inverted and unable to flip, but still watching for if he tries reversing it and attacking accordingly as he begins to do so. Once I've worn him down enough (IE. his drum is slowed or stopped), stack him onto his side against the wall. Even if it doesn't finish him, it's still worth some nice strategy points. Defence mostly comes down to the aggressive kind -- with limiting his movement as much as possible by staying under and keeping him forced near the walls and/or constantly reeling from flips (from both me and the flippers/spikes), always keeping the front facing him when I can, and make use of my speed/torque to deny him any opportunities to escape or attack. Don't let him anywhere near the conveyor belts if I'm not taking him to the Flippers, constantly watch to see which way his drum spins and act accordingly (ideally, force him to switch directions or stay constantly inverted), avoid attacking directly head-on, protect the wedge, and whatever I do, don't expose my back to him or fire the flipper when I'm not underneath. If I take a big hit, escape first to stop him following up, then come in and attack from a different angle once I've recovered. Good luck! |

Side Shields OFF Alright, this might be a bit of a tough fight. Hes got a fair speed advantage and I'm only +3 on his armour. The weight of my bot is sitting on the two front skids while Ayame's should be resting across the front of the flipper, so hopefully I will have a slight advantage when it comes to wedging. Also, despite Ayame being faster than me, there isn't anywhere he can really OOTA me to, so thankfully I don't have to worry about that. Head out to the middle of the arena at the start. I don't want to go aggressive right off the start, but I want to let my drum spin up fully and get away from the floor flippers. Heres where I put the standard stuff about angling in, following up if I flip Ayame and whatever else. If they start pushing me without flipping, j-hook off and attempt to get a hit on the sides/rear. I have a 3 point weapon advantage so I could potentially damage their wheels pretty well which would make the rest of the fight a lot easier. If I land upside down and have enough time to recover before Ayame is back on me, gyrodance back to my right side, but don't do it if theres a followup hit coming. My front skids are going to be important so I want them on the ground as much as possible. |
