Death Metal's bar only has teeth on one side, so it's not reversible. I can spin whichever way I want. At the start of the fight, spin up in the SAME direction as her. Normally this is clockwise if she starts upright, CCW if she starts inverted, but check if she put the bar on backwards to trip me up. And no, she shouldn't be tall enough to Bombshell me by starting inverted.

Get up to speed and start moving toward the arena center. As she approaches, back away from her before impact to keep the closing speed low and the bite low enough that it's my teeth hitting her teeth. Weapon-to-weapon is 6-3 in my favor, which should disable her bar in a hit or two. After that I can attack all-out until she stops moving - but don't chase her into the arena hazards.

If she's decided to be really lulzy and reverse her spin direction (observable by seeing which way the torque turns her when she spins up) so she hits the trailing edge of my teeth, she still can't one-shot me, and she's hitting sharp steel with blunt aluminum so she should still damage her own weapon a bit. Let the hit knock me away and reverse my spin direction as soon as I have a chance to do so safely.

Yes, I'll get pinballed around, but there's enough energy involved here that both bots will pinball, and I spin up in 2 seconds. gyroscopic forces should keep me stable even if I get launched by a floor flipper. And she can't KO me with a broken weapon, which again will happen in the first few hits.

tl;dr spin2win, but make sure I spin in the same direction as her.

Spin up and head for the center of the arena. We are fighting in the Land of Confusion arena, so there are no really damaging hazards here. Mainly, it's the floor flippers and the conveyors that lead to them. Try to stay to the center of the arena as much as possible. Charybdis has 16 pwr weapon, but only 2 transnational speed and 7 chassis armor. I would think that I would have a chance of the bar making contact with its chassis, despite HfL's overly technical description in his entry post. No, I'm not getting into a numbers fight here, thank you ;)

I still question the actual effectiveness of meltys. I think the numbers stated in the signup post are just a bit inflated, myself. I think I will be able to make contact with his 7-armor chassis and that 'should' be fatal.

However, if my weapon dies before he does (or we both lose our weapons), he does not have any more control advantage than DM does. Push him into the floor flippers and/or the conveyors that will take him to the flippers/spikes/flamethrowers. At least, try to get points from the judges.

Avoid taking on damage from Charybdis on anywhere other than my weapon. Avoid driving into hazards.

GL HfL!
