What just appeared in my hands?

Witness Me! Speed: 8 Traction: 8 Torque: 3 Weapon: 5 Armor: 6 (+2 flipper) Tarantula: Speed: 7 Traction: 6 Torque: 3 Weapon: 5 Armor: 9 So, even with his absurdly low chassis armor, I can't do much damage do him. Technically I outwedge him, but my wedgelets are so small and he's so fast that it probably won't matter. Looks like a losing battle, right? Just remember, though: despite the wild legs and weaker drum, this is still basically Mudcrab. If he attempts to flank, turn toward him and clip his side. It's trivial damage, but points are points and I want him upside down for my endgame anyway. Same if he goes for the legs (tbh I'm seriously expecting him to try flipping the middle legs or something). If he comes in head-on, turn to A) clip his side with a leg on his way in, or B) get a wedgelet under him and stuff his approach. He has enough power to OOTA me, so stay away from the OOTA walls. He also has enough power to OOTA himself whilst self-righting, which is how I intend to end this fight. Clip his side or otherwise flip him with the drum and get him next to the wall so he flings himself out. The contingency strat is to get him into the housebots. In general, be sort of a slowly advancing defensive wall. He may be faster, but as long as I can keep him from pressing this advantage, he's technically on defense. Avoid being between him and the OOTA wall while he's right side up. Don't drive myself into hazards and housebots and such. Good luck!

1. He has all of those legs, but I have a decent amount of ground clearance and exposed 2WD, so he's not going to high-center me or really even impeded me with those. 2. We both have 2WD wedges, though his is two extremely steep skids. They should struggle to get under anything, but I'm not taking the chance that the writer won't see it that way. I'm only going to have the middle skid attached, so that it should be able to get beneath the middle of his drum. Come out fast and then just barely hook around the edge of the narrows so that I'm on his side of the arena and out of the danger zone, but still in an area that's relatively narrow. He's probably going to want to avoid being between me and the OOTA zone, but he's not thinking about the Howling Winds, I bet. It seems like few people are. They do 3 damage and can take off a wheel. I want to go head-to-head, which I doubt he'll be expecting, get the central tooth of my flipper under his drum, and fling him. I have 8 speed, so following up and chaining flips should be a viable strategy. I want to chain him right into the Howling Winds, which should launch him and do damage/possibly take off a wheel. When he gets flung out, fling him back in as many times as I can. If he loses a wheel, I'll have a huge maneuverability edge and I'll use that to corral him, take him to the OOTA zone, and dump him out. If he tries to angle in, maneuver around, or generally flank, use my better drivetrain to stop him from doing so. Self-right immediately if flipped, and keep him on the defensive. If he gives me a good opportunity to get him between me and the OOTA zone, then take it, but there's no need to be reckless. He can't really hurt me. Drive smart, avoid the hazards and house robots myself, and try to flip him into the during the last 30 seconds. GL Brad. Kick ass and things (just not mine, k?) |
