USING THE SPINNER CONFIG. All right, like I said last time, he can’t damage me at all, and my sheer weight will make an OOTA very difficult if not impossible. He’s got a slight speed advantage, but I have a very long reach and can swing my blade around in a wide arc, which will make it hard for me to flank me, especially if I reduce his reach by damaging his claws. Last time he used a clever technique of using his claws’ geometry to force my blade into the ground. If he has his claws forward he’s probably trying that again. I still want to tear up his claws, but keep my blade a bit further off the ground, about halfway between the floor and his claw mountings. Hit his claws from the inside if possible, and if he tries angling away from me again, angle my attack too and try to sneak past the claw and hit his chassis or wheel. Worst case he turns back toward me and gets his claw hit. If his claws are behind him or are so damaged he can’t use them to hook or wedge me, go overcutter. Last time I started too high: this time err on the side of being a little low at first - weapon-to-weapon won’t damage either of us and hitting his chassis or top skids is still good for me. Adjust upward until I can take out his wheels. If his claws are bent upward and in the way, 4 corner damage means they won’t be for long. Without his claws in front I have a huge reach advantage and his chassis isn’t very long; if he wants to be aggressive and get a hit in on me, he’s going to have to get within a range where I can hit his wheels just by turning. Speaking of aggression, last match it seems like I let his speed intimidate me and it nearly cost me the match thanks to a bad aggression score. Don’t make that mistake again: stay on the attack and take the fight to him. If he meets me head-on I can swipe his claws with a slight turn or hit his skids or wheels without turning at all. If he tries to flank and get around my weapon, turn and smack him. Use my reach to keep him from hooking his claws under me and knocking me off balance, and give him the choice of dodging away and hurting his aggression score or getting hit and taking serious damage. Try to KO him by tearing his wheels off, but otherwise keep the pressure on him. Without the ability to do damage or to block my weapon, he’s going to rely on aggression and control to win the match, so putting him on the defensive will make his life very difficult. Self-right, avoid the low wall, don’t be stupid. Good luck etc. etc. |

What just appeared in my hands?

![]() (from like Tuesday or something) Both claws forward. Pay attention to his spin up direction. No, this isn't going where I took it last time. Last time, he seemed to bank on his config being hard to flank. Hard, maybe, but impossible, no. I found through my own experience that when you have a walking spinner, turning just generally becomes a pain in the ass. You have to turn on walker legs for one, which isn't that bad on its own, but add a spinning mass into the mix and now you have to turn on walker legs against the momentum of the weapon (in one direction, anyway, which is why I need the spin up direction). This is compounded by how far in front of his legs his spinner is. Basically, he'll turn faster in one direction than the other depending on which way he spins up. So, if he's in undercutter mode, use this quirk against him and flank (wide, so he doesn't get free hits in like I did against TO!) against his turning bias. Once mostly around his blade, turn in sharply and drive forward to get the outside claw under him/hit him with the drum. Keep hitting him and try to strand him against the wall. The important thing, though, is to not let him get back up for any significant amount of time. Control the match like a control spinner is meant to. For overcutter, the strategy is much the same, but a little easier since I don't have to worry about him clipping my claws on the way in. I can also turn in earlier and use the inside claw to get under his front. If all else fails, pull a Lollerskate and charge at him blindly because if I don't win this title, the next best thing is to go out in a blaze of glory in the finals. Other than that last bit, don't drive like a dumbass. Good luck!
