HmmmmMMMMMMM......

Finals time woo! Let's get some things straight - I'm a walker. He's gonna have trouble lifting me up, though he could Outa me on the short wall (I'm at the short wall) - His hinged wedge is heavy. Cool. So are mine because walker. Ooo that's interesting. His wedge might not be the one to win out perhaps. My wedges are much steeper too (but it's not ridiculous like REX so anything he says about my wedge being too steep is bs :V) - If I was able to hit him while I was under him last time, I should be able to hit him this time too - If he gets under my side, my walker pods will still be on the ground since he's only getting under the skirt - It's short as fuck! I should be able to reach batteries within 1-2 hits since his internals are the size of Kit Kats :V Relatively use the same tactics used against Chimera. Run parallel to the short wall for as long as I can until I can't, then turn and keep the battle on the tall wall-half of the arena. If he charges at me, turn to keep him in front. Just before he gets under, strike. If I'm halfway, or on the other side of the arena and he's charging at me, charge back. Avoid the fucking short wall. If I'm starting to get too close to the short wall, walk away from it. If RD tries to stop me, it's his funeral. If he's still flipping me all over the place, keep going until I can finish him. Avoid the short wall until it's obvious that his flipper is dead. Be aggressive if I have enough distance from the short wall If he's under my front, smash him immediately and repeatedly to weaken the flipper. Always try to keep him in front. If he's under my side, remember ^ skirts. Walk away to avoid the flipper since he won't be completely under me. If I'm stuck, flail like a fucker with the hammer and/or j hook if I can. Be aggressive as hell and self right when flipped. And again, even if I'm flipped out, let's look at something. There's a two foot gap between walls. If Coup is a walker that is 3ftx3ft or more, wouldn't it just rest on the two walls? Try to flail back in the arena if so. If he corner camps, that gives me all the more reason to make it across the arena. Once I do, hit him in that corner. C'mon Josh fight me! Always keep him in front of me and don't be afraid to charge into battle (but be smart about it and do so accordingly to my strategy). Keep away from the short wall, and time the hammer blows. RD survived the hammer last time. Make sure this doesn't happen again. And as always, for the last time in this tournament: HAMMER!!! Good luck Josh! |

And now the end is near, and so I face the final curtain. My friend I'll say it clear, I'll state my case of which I'm certain... -Whew, looking back on the last fight I don't think I could have given a more pathetic, half assed RP if I tried. That said I STILL managed to at least hold out to a split decision loss. Maybe with some better effort we can swing that one the other way. -I've got a nice advantage to work with here since Coup is starting out at the short wall, and walker or not I still have the ability to get him over that. In our previous match he was making a point to keep away from the wall, so one would have to think he'd be similarly paranoid of it this time around as well. -Stats! In RD's previous fight he was able to keep pace with a walker that had 1. Great speed, 2. Great control, and 3. Really good acceleration. Coup has only the control. His speed is mediocre and his Torque/acceleration is almost nonexistent. Obviously he prioritized weapon strength and durability in stats. -Since his hammer isn't on a turret, he has to rotate his whole body to face it at me if I go after his sides, and not only is he slower to begin with, but a walker design simply wouldn't be able to turn as fast as a 2WD bot (basically it would similar to a tread bot). -So last time he basically held his ground and waited me out, but I don't think he had the short wall behind him in that fight. Is he so bold as to try that again? If he does, it necessitates a careful approach on my part. Try to swing around and get to his sides. I'm not remotely worried about my ability to get under the side skirts. There's nowhere near enough leverage on them to defend against my wedging ability. From there, try to flip him and then see if I can quickly flip him again over the wall. That first flip wouldn't be in the right direction, but it would leave him vulnerable to getting wedged again quickly and I could position things so he's between the wall and myself. If I can get him on the ropes here, just keep trying to flip him until I get him out. -If he doesn't stay in his square, then either he's coming out in the open to meet me, or he'd be looking to make tracks for a higher wall to protect him. If he's coming out to the middle of the arena then that gives me a LOT of space to work with in terms of trying to get around to his sides and wedge/flip him. I'd like to see if I could start chain flipping him back towards the short wall, but at the very least just don't flip him towards a corner. -If he's heading to another wall, or corner for that matter, then he'd have to be exposing a side to me since he can't walk sideways. There's absolutely no reason I shouldn't be able to rush at him and try to wedge him from the side before he could reach his destination, particularly if he tries to turn to defend himself. His max speed is only 5, and with 1 torque it'll take him several seconds just to get up from his initial 75% speed of just under 4 (I'll allow 4 even just for the sake of argument). So whenever he starts moving from a dead stop he's barely more than half as fast as RD is. Again, get to the side and start flipping him. -Make sure to keep away from the hammer at all costs, use my speed to get favorable positioning on him and stuff. Good Luck! |
