(ARMAGEDDON!) Wedge. vs Osiris; finals somehow

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Wedge.: Speed: 8 / Traction: 7 / Torque: 4 / Weapon: wedge. / Armor: 11
Osiris: 8 speed / 6 traction / 2 torque / 7 weapon (5 lifter / 5 saw) / 7 armour (+1 lifter)

well, may as well keep proving why pits are dumb. our wedges are "the same" but like, not really. firstly he's technically just coming at me with the weight of the lifter unless he presses to become 2WD. but, he can't press because he put a saw on his lifter that hits either the ground or the wedge under his lifter when he presses, which will prevent his ability to do so regardless of if the saw is actually running or not. I assume whoever is writing this is smart enough to understand why.

his armor bonus to the lifter covers 3 seperate sides and drives his body armor down to 4 (or 0 in his configuration with a larger armor bonus). I can do damage by ramming, hilariously (ramming power of 6 for me).

his robot is also approximately an acre long and he has worse traction and torque than me so angling in should be laughably easy. just about the only thing he's got going for him here is that he'll be annoying to control thanks to his exposed wheels, though those can still be stranded if lifted from the side (though doing that successfully is another story).

with that in mind, just wedge him around until I can pit him, then do that. Focus on angling in unless I've proven that I can beat him head-on. if he gets under me I have better torque and control and wheels in the rear so just back up at angles until I'm freed and go back to angling in. if he gets me in the dustpan I have lots of ground clearance and can out-push him so that's an option assuming my wheels are still on the ground when my wedge contacts his main chassis.

also he's totally gonna expect me to angle in so I can always fake him out to make him counter my angling my also angling but then going in straight so that I'm still at an angle relative to him. confused yet? :V

Stat Things:

While he may seem to have a slight advantage based on one more point of control and slightly better pushing power, it's not enough that he'll just be able to outdrive me and flank me if I pay attention to that and counter his attempts. Also, while we're both 2WD wedged, his is short, tapers, and has most of its weight towards the back. He's going to wheelie, like...a lot. Also, as shown in the album I linked in my signup post, when I raise my lifter, I have a 2WD wedge that is toothed, and toothed wedges > flat-edged wedges.

He has a lot of armour, but I have a long-contact weapon that will eventually be able to slice through it, and I'll have all of the time in the world once he's trapped in Osiris' dustpan. There's a lot for him to get caught, hung up on, or turned around on in there. I don't have as much armour, and he'll probably try to pull the three separate bonuses to the lifter BS that he pulled with REX in ROBOTS (it's one bonus, to the front, as most people would assume it is, so I don't have like, 3 body armour or whatever), but he has no weapon and there aren't any hazards, so lol. He has no way of really controlling me or keeping me on his wedge, while I can trap him very effectively.

Strategy:

Start out with the lifter raised, forcing him to avoid going head to head. This'll make his approach somewhat predictable: he'll try to angle in. He may have slightly better control, but we're equal in speed, so wait until he starts angling in and then back up to get him to expose his front corner. Then plow forward into him. Worst case scenario, I force him to back off and tilt the 'control' category in my favour a bit. Best case, I get right under him and then snap the lifter down. It's a five point lifter, so that's basically maximum speed that a lifter can go. It'll snap down pretty damned quickly. If he's in range of the saw, start biting into him immediately, and keep biting in.

Try to always have at least one of his wheels off of the ground. If I can slam him into a wall and then trap him with the lifter, then do so. Try to do this right before the pit drops, and then dangle him over the edge. Always try to saw into him if I have him clamped. It'll score points, could mess up his drivetrain, and gives me a slight chance at scoring a KO. Unless I'm in control of him, stay far away from the pit when it lowers. We're equal in speed, he has no way of keeping me on his wedge, and being far away gives me plent of time to j-hook, wedge him from the side, and clamp him.

Stay aggressive, do damage, drive smart, and adjust to anything unexpected in the logical way.
