Four bar flipper, wedge tip OFF, spikes ON. Alright, Noothgrush. It’s a pretty fast-turning meltybrain spinner that has good armour and the potential to do a little damage to even my 14-armoured front end with a good shot, but it drifts fairly slowly at only 4 speed (so I’m definitely fast enough to keep on top of it), the traction’s low enough for me to knock it about effectively, and the way the bristles are designed mean it’ll have problems recovering if it gets flipped up against the wall- so that could be a potential means of TKOing him, or at least keeping him under control. Really, as long as I’m proactive and keep him from reaching his maximum speed, it should hopefully be quite doable. So, anyway. Move out quickly, watch to see what he does as I approach to avoid him going round the side or anything like that, and keep the front facing towards the direction he’s turning and moving in to limit his options. Force the initial impact by ramming directly into him in the opposite direction he’s spinning to absorb as much of the blow as I can, and then as he gets knocked back, immediately swoop in, get under, and get shoving. From there, keep him from spinning up again by keeping in contact and preferably underneath throughout, all the while shoving him, ramming him into the walls and corners (and squashing him against them to wear down the clock and earn some nice strategy points), and flipping him. In particular, keep him herded near the edges and forced onto the defence to limit his room to spin, keep watching what he does constantly to cut off any of his escape routes (in particular, watch the direction in which he spins to get an idea on which way he’ll go), and try to either prop him up onto the wall with my flipper to immobilise him, or if he’s in the path of or near the short wall, attempt to get him out, with a run-up if necessary. Be super-aggressive (without being too reckless) and focus on outright stopping him from attacking as much as I can, keep the front end facing him and my back end well-protected, and don’t fire the flipper unless I’m definitely underneath. Good luck! |
