Killjoy... no. Just no. That is not acceptable. I mean, bots like Snijmachine push the realism factor but your MW is just... no way.

Alex, I swear if you accept that thing... :headache:

1. L...LtD doesn't hit with the scythes. They're obviously just decorative trailing doodads. The blades also don't interfere with each other and I can prove it. It's also not as flat as you think. Think about the dimensions due to the size of the blades and total surface area.

2. I love how people don't bat an eyelash at things like Snijmachine, Atom, La Valette, Sabre Rocketeer, and Shiki (actually look at those blades and extrapolate their arc for a moment) as well as Scrapyard Miscreation, Shade Fist, Standard Template Construct, The Placid Casual, and even Black Dog to some extent, (also, where does Tidal Wave's motor fit with that massive indent inn its chassis? How does Red Menace fit the motors and gears for its hammer, dampening systems for the legs, the servos and/or hydraulics for them, the batteries, etc? How the hell does Permafrost actually power that crusher? I see no room for hydraulics in that chassis) but when I enter this, this whole toxic place erupts in a symphony of self-righteous wailing. A lot of the people QQing about L...LtD are the same ones who've entered some of those bots listed. That seems like a blatant and bald-faced double standard. GG in-crowd.

3. So, you want me out. Congrats. I'm out...for good, and you get rid of Mean Girl and Nightshade too. I have better things to do.

I've just moved this week and circuit breaker for my new room is fucked or something, so that's why I haven't been online at all. But I still have my laptop and some time to write RPs even with all the painting. I don't, however, have time to update the Visual Guide, sorry! Hopefully the electricity situation will be sorted out sometime in the coming week and I'll have time to update everyone's team to their final states in time for the next round of RPs, but uhh... don't hold your breath.

Anyhow, good luck to everyone this week! Looking forward to having some free time to spend on Discord again...

Hope you get everything sorted out, AttackFrog!

Yeah, we're pretty spoiled by having the visual guide for quick reference, since CBC2 has 164 robots competing in it!

In the meantime, for anyone who may not know this, you can go into the CBC2 signup thread and press ctrl+f. A search box will appear in the upper-right of your screen and you can type the name of the bot that you are looking for.

It’s time for State of the Bots! The weekly… or, I guess tri-weekly… every round… look at how the teams are doing.

Cherry Bomb Classic 2 has opened strongly, with some exciting knockouts and not too many pushing matches. We’ve had upsets, surprisingly good showings from new competitors, and some redemption from disgraced veterans.

Team Cardboard Pony: Pat’s robots have definitely improved from previous tournaments, as has his driving. Unfortunately, both are still not exactly stellar, and he had some hard matchups in the first round, resulting in a 1-5 showing. The one bight spot, and yes I spelled it that way on purpose, is Mr. Bight Sky, which got the win over the shuffling cluster The Happiness Control.

The Monsterworks: Alex’s machines consistently do well in the group stages, and so far the pattern seems to be continuing. He’s 3-0 in the first round, with literally half his team getting byes this week due to their high seeding. Banana For Scale… survived while Minigame self-destructed, but took a lot of damage. Witness Me pulled off a double wheelectomy on Tarantula despite being a flipper (don’t you love arena hazards?) and Krieg, the trackballed drum spinner, completely dominated TWOSCOOPS.

Chaotic Robotics: Brad’s started decently with a 4-2 run, although one of those wins was a forfeit from Thallium 2. Minigame… disintegrated, just like everyone predicted, Drop Zone outmaneuvered Ramshock, Razro was too touch for the hammer of Needles, and Error 503’s devastating spinner tore Starstruck apart. Scrapyard Miscreation, though, really wasn’t able to get that unusual side hammer into play against Ritual’s saw.

Team Ignition: Well, Dylan went 4-1 with Shade Fist getting a bye. Salamandra’s close JD win over Marisa Kirisame was the most impressive, with the other three being against either brand new machines or The Godfather Part III. More on that later. Still, “Negroblade” gradually pulling Spicy Mozarella apart shows that the horizontal control spinner can be viable!

North-West Sheds: This is a veteran team, looking to recover from a terrible run in ROBOTS. So far, it’s looking maybe sorta okay with a 3-3 showing in the first round. 3 Degrees of Ripping Off actually managed to do some damage to Tiger, but big hits from the hazards cost in in the Judges’ Decision. Harrison Howell got thrown out, and TAT lost a split decision to Chemical Explosion. On the plus side, the fast robots with poor armor except for having ridiculously sturdy wedge configs (i.e. Sleipnir and Odin) got drawn against horizontal spinners, giving them easy wins. Carcinogen, the loaner bot from Team Foxtrot Uniform, performed well, but Mole himself didn’t, not knowing how to deal with the tilting arena and being too cowardly to finish off Pat’s clusterbot after throwing out the faster section. He still managed to win, but the judges awarded both bots a zero in strategy, which is… impressive.

Ice Cubed Robotics: Alex V is always a frontrunner, and this week showed why. He went 4-0 with two byes due to high seeding. Torque Dirty 2 Me, the defending Featherweight champion, and Swiftsure, the mini-Dreadnought, won by dominating Judges’ Decision, the rebuilt Dead on Arrival threw Frost Viper out in under a minute, and Barley Picker… well, it actually did worse than predicted against Shrek, but won anyway because Playzooki literally ignored the ending buzzer for fifteen seconds and got disqualified.

Team TBR: British Robotics kinda dropped the ball this week, with Chemical Explosion getting the only win by a very close decision. There’s no shame in losing to powerful spinners like Frost Viper and Oscillator did, but Irritant and Sawtooth suffered due to design flaws, and Bamlathwack lost a very close match to a very similar ring spinner, which would ordinarily be okay except that it would have been hilariously one-sided if British had remembered to put the long blade teeth on his robot.

Team Fox: Ethan surprised almost everyone in the first round by actually showing up. He went 3-3, with Spunky Skunky and Wulven II winning by JD and Night Jackal shredding Revolver Ocelot.

Team 57: Hiicant did well in the first round, going 3-1 with two byes. Chronic Jobber actually didn’t live up to its name, getting around the plow of Gas^3 and knocking it out in a couple hits. Flandre Scarlet spun and won against Death Metal, winning by brute strength, and Initial D actually managed to destroy one of Playzooki’s bricks, which is a major public service. Unfortunately Marisa Kirisame just took too much damage from Salamandra’s saw, and ended up losing the decision 25-20.

Team Mongoose: And Nick’s another 3-1 with two byes – Crash Blossom, the defending middleweight champion, and Agent X. Super Smash Bros managed to knock out the very powerful undercutter Dreaming of Screaming with some superb driving, No Exit tossed Obsession all over the arena and eventually out of it, and You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar but I Feel Like a Millionaire got through against Witty Name Pending on a split decision. Unfortunately Love Hurtz, the absurdly powerful hobbyweight hammer without great armor, got the worse possible draw: a horizontal spinner. It didn’t go well.

Alpha Robotics: While Drew didn’t use his normal… unique strategies, this round still didn’t work out for him. Ververg and its unusual bristlebot drive system surprised many by actually working, and dominated Moroes, while Diablo Intercept outdrove Neophyte Redglare. But the rest of his lineup did poorly; Hyperion died early on to Pingu’s hammer, White Lightning’s speed wasn’t enough to win the decision against Dumbo, Fenrir met its match in the devastating drum of MASHEEN, and The Happiness Patrol just couldn’t hit hard enough to damage Mr. Bight Sky, and the spinner half of the cluster got flipped.

Angry Goat Robotics: Gabe’s bots had mixed, but mostly good results. The smaller classes had trouble, with Moroes and Tria Prima both losing by split decisions, but the lightweight and middleweight clamps of Cuddle Time and Spectral pudding dominated their fights, as did Warlock and Ritual, giving the team an overall 4-2 run.

Team Foxtrot Uniform: Sylandrophol had mixed success as well. Bloody Maryam got Hopscotch Pilgrim stuck on its side, Arcade Queen outmaneuvered Playzooki’s unpronounceable Adidas tracksuit, and Vomit Comet completely dominated the inexperienced Izzy. However, Neophyte Redglare lost to Diablo Intercept in a hilariously lopsided 40-5 decision, and the token spinner, Live Wire, just couldn’t damage Mammoth Apostle.

Aquatic Robotics: Attackfrog had a very good first round, going 5-1, although one win was a forfeit. Rogue Wave and Solomon scraped by in JDs against Chill Out and Tria Prima, and Mega Frogbot won by forfeit. Obsession pretty much got flipped all over the place by No Exit, eventually losing by OOTA. Red Menace got an easy draw and splattered Crush-A-Mon. But the team’s real success story was the latest version of Undertow, which decisively beat Sawtooth with an OOTA in just over a minute.

Team Instant Regret: The mysterious non-Texan had a middle of the road performance, going 3-1. The terrifying spinner of Vorpal Bunny and the #1-seeded lifter Compound Fracture both got byes. The wins were all KOs: Jokulhaup’s twin spinning discs tore apart Zip Zap Zoo, Tastes Like Boring managed to break Zadkiel’s fist with its face and strand it upside-down, though it took some serious damage in the process due to driving mistakes, and Sekhmet chased down the insanely pinballing shell spinner of Rooster Teeth and smack it out of the arena. Jajanken failed miserably; some reckless driving against Solaris Omega resulted in it losing without ever getting its hammer into play.

Team Edgy Robotics: Uhh… to be honest Jamie kind of embarrassed himself here. 0-6, and one of the losses was Chaotic Reaction forfeiting. Teams with a cumulative seeding in the triple digits can kind of expect poor performance, but this was just sad.

Team Stealth: Danielle is fielding the smallest lineup in CBC2 with only three robots, so two wins is still pretty good. Death Metal just couldn’t stand up to the immense power of Flandre Scarlet’s cage spinner, but The Thieving Magpie and Triple Six worked beautifully, quickly throwing Harrison Howell and the dangerous horizontal spinner Twirley Coyote II out of the arena.

Team Blood Gulch: Josh is one of the most experienced roboteers in the competition, but kind of entered some questionable machines this time. Nanael and Capitol Punishment are by far the strongest bots on the team, and easily beat Demiurge and Poseidon’s Wrath. Revolver Ocelot isn’t a bad design, but just couldn’t take the monstrous hits dished out by Error 503. Rooster Teeth pinballed around the arena as usual, but was tossed out by Sekhmet. And Phobos Anomaly and The Godfather Part III? Uhh… they just… didn’t work. The result was a disappointing 2-4 run.

Arsonists Inc: This is a newer team, and its bots are well-crafted but have some serious design flaws. Rattletail, the snake, actually managed to win, but the only other win was from If You Hate It Hit It With A Ring (Spinner) barely scraping through against Bamlathwack – and that was only do to British Robotics using the wrong tooth configuration for the matchup.

Team End of the Line: Mr. AS did decently in the first round, going 3-3. Gas^3’s trackballs led it to get outmaneuvered and shredded by Chronic Jobber, but Pingu knocked out Hyperion in under a minute and Mouser Mecha Catbot Upurrising scraped through with eight lives left after a split decision against Game Over. Masheen got another win against Alpha Robotics, destroying Fenrir. Depression, honestly, got one of the worst matchups of all time against Odin, which it couldn’t damage at all and was nearly helpless against with its ponderous walking drivetrain. Go! Go! Zeppeli, the vertical gyro walker, was also hopelessly outmaneuvered by Spectral Pudding, barely getting its disc into play.

Team Playzooki: Never have I felt so good about announcing a 0-5 run. Every single one of zooki’s obnoxious, kludge-ey bricks lost, whether it was to being clamped and outdriven (Meat Rub and Adidas Tracksuit), tossed around and torn apart by drums (STOP and TWOSCOOPS), or just having the utter stupidity to keep attacking for a full fifteen seconds after the match ended (Shrek).

Oryx Robotics Group: Brian’s return after a year or so of inactivity has started out all right with a 3-3 run. Teacup Tempest honestly kinda had the perfect draw, and easily beat Love Hurtz. Hopscotch Pilgrim had the misfortune of not only being drawn against Bloody Maryam’s spinner-killing plow, but as a melty the arena really hurt it, and it ended up getting stuck balanced on its side. DumboLITE beat White Lightning in a close decision, but Bunker Buster’s speed and OOTA-capable flipper weren’t enough to keep Wulven II from controlling their match; BB lost the decision after taking serious damage from the house robots. Smilodon lost another close decision to the inexperienced but effective wedgebot Gangrenous Leech, and Mammoth Apostle was just too tough for Live Wire.

Team Obscure: Well, Chill Out almost beat Rogue Wave, which is actually really impressive for any spinner going up against such a heavily-armored opponent. Gaster picked up a win against Meat Rub, but Game Over lost a close decision to Mouser Mecha Whateverbot. And then the entire rest of the team forfeited, and pretty much got made fun of by the commentators for three minutes. Le French Ennui ruins Le Matches again. The result is a subpar 1-5 run.

Demon Industries: Doot is inexperienced, fighting in his first ever tournament, but so far has done very well, going 3-2 (no byes, but didn’t enter hobbyweight). Leviathan and Cobalt Tsunami suffered from clear teething problems, but Gangrenous Leech and Ricochet picked up wins against veteran teams, and Sabre Rocketeer… well, let’s just say the fourth horseman of the apocalypse is awfully lonely after his brothers got torn to pieces by the giant undercutting disc.

Team Covenant: Kody barely had to touch a controller this round, getting FOUR byes due to high seeding. Shiki tore apart Oscillator, and Scarab showed Phobos Anomaly why you shouldn’t make plows out of sheet metal, giving the team a 2-0 first round with two KOs.

Team PMD:CR: The arena is a harsh and brutal place for the inexperienced. Brand-new teams rarely do well, and NeonCalypso seems to be repeating the pattern. Mini Ceylon’s high blade and lack of reach hurt it against Nuclear Plague 2. Poseidon’s Wrath is actually a good-looking shell spinner, but it got a bad first-round draw in the form of Capitol Punishment, and without a srimech it couldn’t recover when it was eventually overturned by the clamp. Dolphin was outmaneuvered by the very fast clamp Cuddle Time, and was eventually knocked out by a house robot. Spicy Mozarella is well-armored, but its sharp corners proved to be its undoing, and it couldn’t stand up to the continuous punishment dished out by Necroblade. Izzy was unable to do any real damage to Vomit Comet’s durable plow, and barely survived to a lopsided Judges’ Decision after it had a battery punctured by the crushing claw of ERROR. But thanks to Jajanken trying too hard to avoid the disc of Solaris Omega and recklessly exposing its sides, Team PMD:CR picked up its first ever victory, and ended up with a 1-5 round.

Team DEAD: Lian’s robots did fairly well, racking up a 4-2 record. Both the sub-light flippers, Higanbana and Narumeia, tossed Ethan’s bots out of the arena. Zadkiel got some good hits against Tastes Like Boring and caused serious damage to the clampbot, but its poor reliability cost it the match when it was overturned and it burned out its weapon motor trying to self-right. Stabstract Junior wasn’t able to really get under the reserve Tazbot Clone called Chaotic Insurgency, and lost the decision. Klarinette got a forfeit win against Golden Blaze – it probably would have won anyway, but the ring spinner would have done some serious damage. Finally, Parasoul was just too tough for Final Nail in the Coffin to damage, and pushed it around all match while completely ignoring the hammer.

Overall, there was a fairly even distribution of winning percentages. Nobody managed a perfect 6-0 round, due in part to the frontrunners not fighting six matches: in all classes but Hobbyweight, the top seed in each division got a bye this week. The Monsterworks and Team Covenant both went undefeated – no coincidence that they each had half or more of their team getting byes – but interestingly enough Aquatic Robotics got the most wins at five. Almost everyone also avoided going winless: the two exceptions were Edgy Robotics and Team Playzooki.

That was a good read, and thanks for helping keep track of records indirectly!

Also, just for kicks, the CBC2 match report writeups are going to include a number of running gags: some weekly, some biweekly, and some monthly. In any event, I thought it might be a good idea to keep track of them here. To date, the ongoing storylines are:

Josh having a good time with a slightly downer ending
HFL disappearing with some sketchy new friends and coming back with some sort of body modification
Gabe having a hallucinogenic experience and gradually opening his third eye
Salamandra coming to the rescue in unlikely ways
Nick avenging Love Hurtz in a 'death by a thousand papercuts' way against Kody
Pat attempting to bend local fauna to his iron will
Alex V rescuing Swiftsure from something or someone dangerous
Dylan always winning some sort of race
Benny (doot) being the beneficiary of rather mundane instances of dumb luck wherever we go
Brad always trying to do good deeds or the right thing but something terrible always happening as a result
Laz always trying to do something selfish or mean-spirited, but with invariably positive results.
Jamie always eating something that is distinctly bad for him
Drew always picking up some minor injury
Eddie (Sylandro) being mistaken for Arnold Schwarzenegger and then having to fight off real badguys in a climactic action scene.
Laz and Nick trying to outdo each other in terms of hair growth.
Hii (Zach) always kicking the shit out of a disabled, elderly, or needy person for a completely justified reason.

If people have any more ideas, feel free to float them out there. Also, vote in the polls that I posted!
Wins: a bunch
Losses: more every week!

I know that Laz had claimed that I didnt have a stabilizing wedge for my lifter in his RP, and want to be 100% sure that that was not what caused this in our match (because otherwise I am going to want a re-write), because I definitely have one
