Okay, fair enough I guess, I thought being almost three times as fast would make it possible to get behind the other robot, but okay. But you seem to be misunderstanding how I intended Frogbot to work. It doesn't drive all the way around behind the other robot in a large curve. It goes back and to the side of it, stops, and turns in place to get the side of the tongue under the back of the other robot (or the side, or whatever.) That's why the tongue is hammer shaped, to make that easier. I'm mostly just mad here because the writeup had me drive straight into Pooky rather than even try to get behind it. |

I think I found the problem here. It wasn't you at all. This was just a good strategy by Botomatic. If you used the flipper, especially with a speed advantage, it doesn't help that he actually wanted to jump onto your flipper. And with the blades large surface area, and a mix of you getting under and him jumping on top of the flipper, there was honestly nothing that could happen but a solid hit. So getting under him actually worked in his favor in a way. Sometimes writers also like it when the RPer says how much of the flipper to use during the fight (idk why) Not saying this is what happened, I'm just putting my two bits and out there. |

Pooky vs Frogbot was one of the tougher fights I had to decide. I think with a shorter and better-shaped snout, absolutely Frogbot could do it. There's very little 'side' of Pooky to gain purchase on with the weapon if you try to outflank though. It's nearly impossible to touch without touching the weapon in some way, and I think having a better anti-spinner shape for your front would've allowed you to just take hits straight on the nose until he died. Pooky is slow and kills itself but fact of the matter is, it has a 17 point weapon and it has objectively a very good shape for a spinner. It absolutely should win some fights and be a problem for pushers that aren't well-optimized against spinners. If it had a larger weapon/armor split it would kill itself in less hits and then it would be terrible. But it has just enough hits in it to be a threat. Edited by BEES, Mar 3 2017, 07:36 PM.

See, this is why there's no trust in the writers and people write fucking novels. I always include a 'don't do anything fucking stupid' disclaimer in my RP, which covers brainlessly driving into hazards and forgetting how to angle in effectively without being matadored when I have a 2 speed and 3 goddamn traction advantage (which seems to mean basically nothing anymore. I decided to forego it this time and put some trust in the writers to assume that I wouldn't drive like a dumb shit. Guess I learned my lesson. |

Very happy with Precise Saunter's win, I didn't quite expect it butI guess the major improvement from PS's previous version is paying off quite well. Shame for Methane and Wingspan, they fought some tough opposistion. 1-2 I can live with that, but I'm hoping PS can keep up his winning form. |

I'm happy that seven speed on a spinner was actually written as seven speed and Meanstreak got the win, and Hellhound did what Hellhound does without any drama. It's just that WTF Hoarfrost decision that sours what otherwise is a pretty good week for my team. Lots of bad decisions this week. Maybe the writers are stressed and rushing it. IDK. I could write a fight or two if we need backup. |

See, it's shit like this. This is why I'm glad that I'm officially retiring from writing soon Imo, you need at least a minimum advantage of 3 speed and 2 traction. Even with that, to expect for a bot to successfully flank at every given moment because it has ALL OF THE SPEED is a bit too high of an expectation. I also agree with Gabe about how even with high traction, it's nearly impossible to drive a speed demon with perfect control. If it's really that important to you man, then you might as well get on your knees and beg for a rewrite that probably wont happen. Shitting on the floor doesn't really help with it, but you're welcome to try I don't think the lesson here is to lose trust in the writers,but to know that were all human here and might make mistakes now and then, and to just simply know how to take losses whenever they happen. My bad if I'm sounding blunt, but I think I have a reason to be atm. that and I was stuck in a car for five hours straight today
