![]() So, I'm hoping to have this puppy running after CBC 3 weight classes LW - 25 kg MW - 50 kg HW - 100 kg We're ditching SHW for a year. Not much point keeping around a weight class that doesn't exist anymore. Stats: 30 points, split between five categories Speed Traction Torque Weapon Armor The schedule will be a swiss style 5-round robin. The top 8 bots in each weight class will advance to the quarterfinals. The Arena: ![]() The Robot Bastards Arena features: -Killsaws -Pulverizers in each corner -Arena Drums in each corner -A wedge wall, with an "Out of Bounds" zone that bots can be launched into for KOs. This wall is roughly 2 meters high. -A layer of fine-grain debris on the floor. This affects the usefulness of pressing wedges. If a robot tries to press its wedge it will lose half its mobility! So the goal is to be low, but not too low, this time. Rules Similar to other tournaments. We'll be using the RB rules from last time with updates to the damage scale, saw damage, and some other tweaks. Walkers get no advantage this time. You're free to enter them though, if you're a masochist. ====================================================================== !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SIGN-UPS - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ====================================================================== UPDATE - Signups will be January 25th to February 2nd at 1 AM. ![]() Try to have your bots ready to go by then. We'll pick up right when CBC ends. I'm planning to run this very differently. I'd like people to merely reserve in this thread, and post when their bots are ready to enter (you can post the names but nothing else). There will be a brief time period with SIGNIFICANT FOREWARNING when team entries can be posted. So nobody will know what each other's bots are or what their stats are until they get posted. Surprise makes everything a little more fun, right? ====================================================================== ====================================================================== ====================================================================== !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RULES - UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ====================================================================== ====================================================================== ====================================================================== Entry List Edited by BEES, Feb 2 2017, 05:12 PM.

Chaotic Robotics LW: Eat Me ![]() ![]() Speed: 14 Traction: 5 Torque: 1 Weapon: 0 Armor: 10 "Brad, what the fuck is this?" So, uh... this is an experiment. It's pretty fast, clearly. The wedges are hinged. The wheels are at 30 degree angles, so it can technically strafe, although I concede its speed will be affected quite a bit in doing so. How do I plan to win with this, you ask? Isn't it obvious? ![]() MW: Deception What, you thought Defiance 2 was gonna happen without a walker bonus? ![]() Speed: 5 Traction: 4 Torque: 1 Weapon: 14 Armor: 6 I think this is the first time I've entered a vertical spinner in anything, unless you want to count the Mech Mash event that never actually happened. Or Red Snake, which I'm trying to forget existed. Aggressively wide 2WD reversible vertical bar spinner. The wedges are strategically shaped to work inverted, and the wheels are placed back far enough to give protection from your typical horizontal spinners. We'll see how this pans out with the changes to the arena floor, I guess. HW: Avarice mooooooooooooooooooore... ![]() ![]() Speed: 8 Traction: 7 Torque: 4 Weapon: 0 Armor: 11 Remember Greed? Yeah, I've had this version sitting around for a few months. 2WD overhead thwack with a really big hook that serves as sort of a bootleg clamp. Bottom left picture shows it clamping my Sewer Snake clone. Avarice includes all the features of its big brother: extra treads for traction while tipped up, side spikes on the tail for a horizontal thwacking option, The Master-style all-in-the-wheels internals, and two wedge setups: forks with Greed-style sprung tips that probably won't do shit, and an anti-spinner wedge as pictured bottom right. I can't wait to drive this thing

Team Yellow Alert LW - Exotherm "Gamma Ray would be better without the bar" -Kody ![]() A vertical spinner with two setups. Pictured above is the anti-wedge fork setup. The forks are limited from moving upwards and hitting the bar. The robot is weakly invertible and can self-right using the BiteForce method of driving upside-down into a wall and righting itself with its weapon. When the weapon isn't running it can also self-right by simply reversing quickly. ![]() The anti-spinner shield setup. The central section of the wedge is all part of the weapon arm and gets the weapon bonus, while the outer parts of the arm, which are hinged, get no bonus to keep below the 33% rule. ![]() To better illustrate this concept, here's a view with the "darth vader mask" removed. Note the connection underneath it between the side wedges. ![]() Spinning. Speed: 7 Traction: 4 Torque: 1 Weapon: 13 Armor: 5 MW: Pterodactyl ![]() A weakly invertible flipper with a pair of forks on the front, and a hinged plow on the back. Previously ABR forks, I now have to spend a ruddy point so they don't turn on all the time thanks to my new rules. The forks have a shared 1 point lifter running both of them, which I plan to activate only briefly to press the floor when it's convenient, before firing the flipper. TEAM IGNITION LW: Redline ![]() ![]() The champ is back, baby! 4WD rammer with a hinged front wedge and all the speed! Comes in two flavors: the anti-spinner ABR wedge, and the other wedge which will be on for every other fight. The second wedge is completely invertible and has a second set of monster truck teeth hidden under the wedge if it's inverted. The rear "spoiler" does not impair ground clearance when inverted. Speed: 9 Weapon: 0 Armor: 10 (+2 to the front wedge) Traction: 7 Torque: 4 MW: WhipCoil ![]() Yet another WhipCoil redesign! Now featuring more of the same! 4wd grabber/lifter/whatever with a rear plow and full invertibility. The plow can be removed to increase the ground clearance at the back. When the plow is removed, internal ballast makes up the weight lost. Speed: 8 Weapon: 3 (dual weapons rule gives each jaw a power of 2) Armor: 9 (+3 to the plow) Traction: 6 Torque: 4 HW: Doomerang 3 ![]() Doomerang makes its first appearance on Drowning City after two years over on Reddit. Doomerang is a melty-brain spinner with 9 wheels! why 9, you ask? Because there isn't any reason not to! It makes my drivetrain more redundant, and it reduces knockback, and since the outer ones are tilted slightly, it means I have very little wheel scrub while spinning up. Doomerang is fully invertible. (If you're wondering what the "thwack teeth" are, it's the outer region of the arms, including both sets of spikes and the wheel guards) Speed: 13 Weapon: 1 Armor: 10 (+2 to the thwack teeth) Traction: 5 (+3 melty-brain spinup bonus for a total of 8) Torque: 1 Edited by Badnik96, Feb 2 2017, 02:33 AM.

Team Blood Gulch: LW: Zombie Killer 4WD, big hinged wedge, fully invertible, and hinged plow on the back. Who said the life of a slayer of the undead was exciting? Reserved Alpha Robotics LW: Backstab 2 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Remember that immortal brick I made in Cherry Bomb? Well now he's back. No weird spikes and ineffective lifter this time. Just a classic pusherbot. Or is it? If you notice in the pictures, Backstab is basically prepared for whatever you throw at it. It has a plow (shown in the first image) a wedge (shown in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th images), a 4WD setup, and a 2WD setup (the tires are foam filled of course). Said plow and wedge attachments can be hinged or static. Yep, 6. Attachments. All on one bot. (Yes I only showed the 2WD setup with the bot inverted. Give me some slack since my computer crashed earlier :V). The third picture shows the bot inverted with the hinged wedge upside down. It may look different, but the wedge works either way up regardless without reducing it's effectiveness. The sides of this brick also have freely rolling trackballs, meaning that when it gets stuck on it's side, the ball on that side will slip instead of tip, rolling it back on to it's wheels quickly. I'm doing this to experiment something. If Backstab gets wedged from the side, the slippery, moving trackball could allow Backstab to slip out of the opponent's grip. And if that's not enough, Backstab can self right with the painted-white side flipper on top (this can also be used as a flipping arm if I'm lucky). And if there are any doubts about this self righting, it has a stroke of 90°. Bite me It's also invertible so it can drive around as it self rights. It's also got a mean amount of torque to push even the top bricks in the group (unless you're Angry Goat or Pallas ) And for once, I have a bot with ground clearance Speed: 8 Traction: 6 Armor: 10 (+1 plow) Weapon: 1 Torque: 5 MW: Outrage ![]() XD 4 wheel trackball drive not-quite-Swirlee clone. This monstrosity sports a MASSIVE HS disc with two large teeth, sandwiched in between the body. The problem with the Swirlee and Speed Squared designs was the fact that they would get cornered and stuck there. I think I might have fixed the problem by allowing it to strafe with rubber balls as wheels. Also, yes the drivetrain is all on one system via hollow axle. We don't need this thing going the way of Psychotic Brick. The blade itself is actually tilted at a 30 degree angle to make it easier to hit wedges. And just for more good measure, the disc's teeth are the only things that have hard corners. Not much for spinners to grab on the body. If you can reach the body that is, without losing your bot's top half :P. And just for the fun of it, the teeth can be lit on fire (but won't melt) during pre-match and can fight in this way. Because who doesn't love a robot that spins fire? Of course it is purely decoration, and will not cost any weapon points. It just gives the writer something to have fun with. However, if this would cause the teeth to be less effective, or the writer's bullshit detectors don't trust it, then I will just run it normally. The blade's angle is a bit less drastic when upside down, but still invertible nonetheless. It'll probably go sliding across the floor after each hit, but then again, every weapon on wheels does that ![]() Speed: 5 Traction: 3 Armor: 7 Weapon: 14 Torque: 1 HW: Coup De Grâce (pronounced coo-de-gras) ![]() HAMMER TIME! 2WD monstrosity with a chain driven hammer. The wheels are set towards the back, allowing it to have a very effective wedge at the front. Remember all that noise Beta made last year? I'm hoping to bring that kind of success with this bot. The chain is somewhat exposed, but is also protected by two rounded lexan panels, which can deflect incoming spinner attacks. The weapon, of course, is the very large hammer, which has a lot more power than your average hammer. It can self right with ease just by firing the hammer. Also, note the fact that it has no hard corners whatsoever, making it nearly impossible to KO. The hammer head also has an optional pointed spike, which can be removed if I need a blunt hammer head for whatever reason. Sure, it's going to fling itself about, but good luck surviving a full three minutes with a weapon like that ![]() Speed: 5 Traction: 3 Armor: 8 Torque: 1 Weapon: 13 Edited by Wolf51-50, Jan 30 2017, 03:43 AM.

Speed: 6 Traction: 4 Weapon: 13 Armour: 6 Torque: 1 MW - Precise Saunter ![]() A much improved design from the previous version, PS now has shufflers inside the robot so it will have better turning when steering. The robot still has the powerful Axe but the chassis has immensely modified completely. Lightweight: Endless Clowns![]() ![]() And here we see the wild clown. A fearsome predator by nature, it prefers to dig its claws in underneath its prey and then bite them with its powerful lower jaw. ![]() ![]() When threatened, clowns are able to change the positioning of their feathers to make them appear much brighter, in an attempt to frighten off its assailant; in the wild, the Horizontal Spinner is a predator to clowns, known to cut them off at the ankles. In an attempt to defend itself, this clown has brightened itself, and also moved into a more defensive position, abandoning the ability to lift prey in favor of better shielding. side skirts are hinged, removable, and limited from folding under the robot. anti-spinner wedge is hinged (very limited to prevent wedge/spinner interferences), and the robot is semi-invertable (and can maybe self-right?) in that configuration; wheelguards are also removable in the event that they would be a bad idea :V . the anti-spinner wedge is attached at the weapon supports, allowing it to benefit from the weapon armor bonus and giving it 13 armor in total Speed: 7 Traction: 4 Torque: 1 Weapon: 11 (spinner) Weapon: 2 (Lifter)/ 0 (hinged wedge configuration) Armor: 5/ 7 (+2 wedge) (hinged wedge configuration) Middleweight: Heiðrún she finally gets a chance! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ok my worries regarding this design have been sated so I'm no longer worried about entering it. Never mind the bollocks, here's Ice Cubed Robotics. LW: Apathy & Lethargy ![]() Since Spy vs Spy worked surprisingly well, I decided to try doing clusterbots again! Taking inspiration from the Conqueror 3 prototype I did some time ago, they're a pair of agile and tough flippers that are good at turning guys over and keeping them under control, but can still take punishment if needed. Speed: 5 Traction: 4 Torque: 2 Weapon: 2 Armour: 9 Notes: Can self right quickly, and have partially-exposed rear drive wheels for easily escaping wedges if needed. MW: Trump Ex Machina ![]() With morale down on ARC and in America, I've decided to do my bit and provide some much-needed extra fun with an actual robot bastard, and indeed ICR's first proper assbot. Based of course on current US President (somehow) and professional scumbag Donald Trump, it's a narrow and top-heavy design that's slow, can't push, has shit manoeuvrability, and plenty of other things that are wrong with that. But that's OK, because he's got two powerful(ish) weapons- a reciprocating spike with a hardened tip on the front for grabbing robots by the pussy and is surrounded by a protective wall for keeping all the spinners and Mexican drug-dealers out (pls don't actually kill me Mexico, you're OK really), and a flamethrower out the back for burning Liberals (again, don't kill me) and potentially setting itself and others on fire. And of course it's all crowned with a statue of the man himself built mostly out of balsa wood, thin aluminium, flammable plastic and cheap suits, and has a fair portion of the gas tank for the flamethrower mounted inside it. What could possibly go wrong? Speed: 4 Torque: 1 Traction: 3 Armour: 10 (+8 bonus to THE WALL on the front, -8 everywhere else) Weapon: 12 (Reciprocating Spike and rear Flamethrower. 7 for Flamethrower, 5 for Micropenis Spike) Note: Cannot self-right, very fragile, slow, wheels and lipo batteries close to the outside for easy spinner access, gas tank mounted partially inside body (so likely to explode into flames wherever you hit it from), and the toupee is flammable. The one who does the most damage to this piece of shit by the Playoffs gets to keep that! HW: Rainbow in the Dark ![]() Completing the line-up is this guy, returning again from Cherry Bomb Classic. Yes, it was originally a Middleweight (pls dun kill me, Kody), but now, it's been scaled up, had the drive issues that plagued it last time fixed up a bit, and it's back to do even more damage and show support for all the metalhead and/or LGBT fans of Alex V-style robot mutilation out there. Still a big powerful spinner with interchangeable tools complete with the double-sided teeth, the ability to spin either way and as either an undercutter or an angled overcutter depending on which way up it is, and the special luminous strips on either side of them that allow it to produce cool rainbow-coloured rings when spinning at maximum velocity. And thanks to the lexan-covered LED panels and lines etched into the armour (And covered with thick Lexan, so still no breaking them in one hit. ) that glow sequentially in all the colours of the rainbow and the "metal hand" logo and text on the top and bottom that glow white, it's still pretty awesome. Well, hopefully awesome-er this time around, but we'll soon see, eh?Speed- 5 Traction- 4 Torque- 1 Weapon- 14 (Horizontal undercutting/angled overcutting spinner, interchangeable for either a bar or a disc.) Armour- 6 Can run inverted. Interlocking steering prevents the need for it to reverse its controls when flipped, it can be set to function as either an undercutter or an angled overcutter depending on which way up it is, and the weapon can spin either way. Is named after the song "Rainbow in the Dark", by Ronny James Dio. |

LW: Wedge Trimmer![]() Well, whad'ya know? Once again, Team Stealth has enlisted the help of Team Alpha Robotics and is running their Lightweight for this tournament! It is a 2WD with an 'eggbeater' spinner. It may not look as menacing as a drum, but it is made of hardened tool steel and at this weight class, every ounce counts. The spinner has a 1/2 inch ground clearance, making it impossible for any wedge to get under the front (hence the name). And, this bot has a thick titanium frame, as well (including a strip of Ti above some of the important electronic bits). It also can self-right: the spinner itself (like with Backlash). Head for the nearest wall and get back right-side up. Spd: 6 Tra: 4 Tor: 1 Wep: 12 Arm: 7 MW: Garuda ![]() View album: http://imgur.com/a/aTVgz Yes, another aviary-themed robot, but this one is all shiny instead of dark and foreboding. 4WD launcher in a similar style to Son of Ziggy, just scaled down a bit, weight-wise. It has hinged skirts all around and titanium 'pontoons' that flank the scoop-like flipper, which should minimize ground clearance. And, the flipper is strong enough to self-right, if needed. There are also static ramming spikes on the back end Spd: 7 Tra: 5 Tor: 2 Wep: 5 Arm: 11 HW: Death Metal ![]() Yeah, it's back, deal with it (if you can)... 2WD horizontal bar spinner (Tombclone). Need I say more? Oh, right-I upgraded the drive to more powerful motors to give this thing some speed this time around. Spd: 5 Tra: 3 Tor: 1 Wep: 14 Arm: 7 Edited by Shaba117, Feb 2 2017, 03:38 PM.

Ok LW: Bunx ![]() Screw all y'all and your 10 speed bricks. I'm bringing Bunx back after a less than stellar performance in Bot-O-Rama. Shell spinner, none of that melty FBS bull. 4wd. Bulldozer-eqsue plow on the back less for protection and more for deflecting horizontal spinners upwards. LW: Firebrand![]() album here I caved and made a brick. Shamelessly plow-stacking thwack. 2WD so that its wedge is actually good. Nice control ratio, solid torque, shit-tons of shock-mounting behind the plow, and can actually hurt spinners by thwacking. The entire tail assembly, including the mounting, is removable and any part can be attached loosely to act as a sacrifice. There's also a fully invertible plow and some wedgelets that I haven't rendered yet due to 10 Speed | 9 Traction | 4 Torque | 0 Weapon | 7 Armour (+3 front plow) MW: Bluetooth ![]() album here Yes, it does have bluetooth. Basically, this is the control-oriented version of Justice that I've been promising Brad for months. I guess it's worth a shot. The arms shoot out quickly, per the rules, and lock into place until the bar is fired in the opposite direction, acting as a clamp. It can self-right with the upper arm, and the punching bar is designed to slip beneath opponents like Smilodon's and Justice's bars do. The teeth that go on Justice's punching bar can also be attached to Bluetooth's. There's also a flipper option with a bigass shield that uses the bonus instaed of the weapon teeth and all of the arms are removable or reversible if it'd be advantageous to fight with fewer (or fewer at a time). 8 speed / 7 traction / 4 torque / 1 weapon / 10 armour (+1 black weapon teeth or flipper/shield) If the bonus to the teeth proves illegal (even though clampers can do something similar), then scrap the bonus. It's up to the TO. HW: Justice ![]() album here The return of The Long Arm of the Law. I swapped out the goofy tracks for wide-base 2WD. It is also now undeniably a perfect octagon. Hinged skirts and wedge teeth are removable (the latter have Bluetooth connectivity ) and there are optional anti-slope hammer heads and long-toothed heads for reaching around some of the ridiculous plows I've seen. All hammer arms are removable if necessary as well. Otherwise, the rest is the same: punching bar to shove itself under opponents a la smilodon, triple death-hammers, lunging tendencies, etc. 5 speed / 4 traction / 1 torque / 12 weapon / 8 armour (+1 weaponry) (stats subject to change for as long as Nick will allow it? I'm really not sure with this one) Edited by The Monsterworks, Feb 4 2017, 03:42 AM.

I am here to announce my retirement tour will be Robot Bastards 2. With not as much time commitment and 1 less weight class, I feel that this will be a great way to go out(though I will not rule out a brief return for my throwback tournament--whenever that may happen). Though I have never won anything outside of a rumble close to 13 years ago, and the fact I have been pretty inconsistent with RPing since the dawn of creation this has been a fun pass-time for me. Here we go. Team Toxic LW: D.U.D.E (Dusting Up Destroyed Electronics) ![]() Let's just say I redesigned this bot and made it lighter and stuff, k? A slight redesign of the FRR version. Still boasts the Toro style flipper, but will be ditching the dustpan in favor of a Spin Orbiting Force style trapper. Flipper scrapes the floor and wedge-lets on the front assist in getting under opponents. Speed: 6 Weapon: 7 Armor: 10 Traction: 4 Torque: 3 MW: Tiki Dude ![]() For this iteration I decided to go with a giant ass drum to inflict pain. 4WD, and is invertable but will more than likely become less mobile when flipped. Pointy tips to getting stuck on my side is not a likely fate. I'd reckon that this thing will Minotaur around the arena if I turn too fast as well. Pods on the front prevent drum from digging into the ground. Speed: 5 Traction: 4 Torque: 1 Weapon: 14 Armor: 6 HW: The Raven MK2 ![]() Gone is the lifting plow, but in its place is a beefier plow that ensures nothing is going to be getting past my front end head on. This plow is also totally not magnetized, I promise. It's hinged, so only the lowest of low bots will be able to get under my plow. The teeth on the top of the plow will also ensure that very few, if any, competitors will go over me to get a better shot at my body and wheels. Additionally, when flipped The Raven is no longer sitting in hot water. When inverted The Raven boasts Underall style wedgelets that will assist in getting under and controlling other bots, though the effectiveness is still unknown. They can also be used as ramming spikes and for controlling other bots in a pinch. Wheels are still the same type as Pressure Drop. Though 12 wheels, it will act as 6 Wheel Drive when it comes to impacts and getting flung. I can conceivably lose upwards of 8-10 wheels before I have significant drive problems. The MK2 version of The Raven also has an updated drive system, allowing this bot to outspeed, out torque, and generally out maneuver most bots in the heavyweight class today. Along with added armor on the front plow, The Raven is not prepared to go into battle with not only fast bricks, but powerful spinners as well. Here are the stats: Speed: 8 Traction: 6 Torque: 4 Weapon: 0 Armor: 12 (+3 to the front plow) Good luck, guys. It's been fun. Edited by Badnik96, Feb 2 2017, 09:54 PM.

May as well give it a go even if I am crap with stats. Team Fox's Gardening Power Tools and Hobby Motors LW: Pooky The Lawnmower ![]() Weapon: 17 Armour: 6 Speed: 3 Traction: 3 Torque: 1 Pooky is relatively large for a LW incredibly wide and long to incorporate its massive blade's reach. The blade is powered by 3 relatively powerful brushless motors on a single drive chain to create a mad red whirl of Kinetic Energy! Unfortunately due to its large size its made of relatively thin aluminium tubing which offers little protection and could potentially be bent with a hard hit or two by another spinner. MW: Wulven ![]() Speed: 10 Weapon: 0 Torque: 4 Traction: 7 Armour: 9 Wulven's a lot faster then you're everyday Wolf... A dual hinged wedged design built to tackle robots with weapons at the front (particularly vertical spinners and flipping arms) with relatively thick armour. Wulven's not afraid to reverse into opponents at full force with its large solid impaling spike particularly later on in the fight when its opponents are worn out. HW: Le Tambour De Battaile ![]() Weapon: 13 Armour: 11 Speed: 3 Traction: 2 Torque: 1 It may have a French name but with armour this thick it wont surrender anytime soon. its designed to take on horizontal discs and bars wearing out its opponent and constantly knocking it hit after hit. It's a sluggish bot due to all the weight in the weapon and armour. Edited by Botomatic1000, Feb 3 2017, 07:35 AM.
