Two out of two RP's done. Hopefully if all goes well, that will be two wins in the bag, hoping for a 3-1 week here. 2-2 will be good enough however.

I've been reading some of the RPs, and I'd like to call into question why a lower-powered flipper is bad. True, something with like 1 power would barely get the job done, but something with 3 or 4 power could reliably flip an opponent over. And all flippers fire instantaneously.

All RPs up. Predicting about a 2-2 this week, maybe a 3-1 if I'm lucky. If there's one I'd like to win though, it's the HW match- only victory will do, there.

It doesn't have the chance to damage an opponent or disorient them as well as a higher-powered flipper might do. I've preferred lower power flippers myself, though, as they give you a better chance to maintain control over your opponent.

Same here, for the most part. That's not to say I don't like high-powered Flippers, though- I had a lot of fun with Terminal Velocity's one back in the first Ruination.

Two parts: one, a higher point would mean more powerful flip, meaning the harder the crash of the opponent on the floor, which DOES cause damage; two, just as the rule is that higher power spinners get up to speed faster, more powerful flippers should logically fire and retract quicker.

My RPs are up. Sorry to be so 11th hour with them, but I've worked 55 hours this week. Just today alone I sorted and delivered my entire route, then got sent back out to deliver half of another route because we were two people short. Crazy as week. But a good one.

1) That is true, but you don't necessarily need to have much higher power just to get an opponent over onto its back, which was my entire point. SZF did fine with just a measly 1 weapon power most of the time. As for Incredible Dong Adventure, which I noted in your RP, I have absolutely no idea how it works, but if it's firing to the side (aka Lightning from Robot Wars Series 7, or Mouser Mecha Catbot), then 4 would be enough to toss an opponent over.

2) Maybe to retract, but I disagree with the firing part. All flippers should fire instantaneously... though whether they'll have enough force to actually do much would remain to be seen. It's lifters that have to worry more about lower power.

So whilst I wait, I'll post my views on my next opponents-
___________
LW- Cherax. Must admit, he's certainly an interesting design. He's got weak armour along with pretty big exposed wheels though, and he hasn't had the best of luck either. I think I can take him.

MW- Mimete. Can't say I know a great deal about this one, but judging by the win record...shit. Driven by Kody as well, so this'll be a hard one even if I do somehow beat it.

HW- Klarinette. Now this is one match I must admit I've been looking forward to. After weighing up my advantages and analysing our win records and stuff, there's only one thing to say. Without sounding too overconfident about it- Lian, you're going down. :P

SHW- Parabolic Trajectory. Mixed feelings about this one. He's a bit slower and has worse traction/torque than I do, but he's got that huge Flipper as well, and has certainly done alright for himself at 5 wins to no losses. If I'm going to win, I'll want to make avoiding the Flipper a main priority.
___________

Honestly, I don't know. There's two undefeated machines in there, so I'll need to be on my toes, but I think I could pull it off. Plus the opportunity to fight Lian is always welcome, so there's that too. :v:

Predicting a 2-2, maybe a 3-1.

Might as well give this a look.

Right Thoughts: Could be tricky with the wedge and such, but I think I've got the speed to pull it off.
Merry Hampton BR: Piss off, Lian. =P If I can avoid his ludicrous front end, though, I'll definitely be causing a good amount of damage.
Golden Blaze: Not too sure about this one, somehow. Only 12 Weapon, so I think my scoop should hold up well enough.
Bistre Airwaves: Bye is useful here. Should still be able to get the win even if he does RP.

1. I think design of the bot matters too. A Cassius-style flipper necessitates a lower slope, to get the opponent further up. Otherwise it'll just push it back.

2. Kinda glad you agree about the retraction bit, since my RP against Phantasmic Slammer relies on that a bit. :P

I should go 3-1 this week but it'll probably be something like 0-4 or 0-5.

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

Uuuuuugh, I hate losing to Agent X. I'm going to have to bring back Industrial Bastardization. :P

Still, KOing Striker is sweet, so fair game. 2-2, good work peeps.

Yes! 3-1 is absolutely fantastic considering the circumstances. Took out two very experienced opponents, and actually beat Stabstract. Didn't think the creator would triumph over his (At least partial.)creation, so it feels good to have pulled it off.

Losing to Zooks by Split Decision blows, though. :/

Losing to that noob Zooks, though...there are no words. :/
You're looking at the guy, not the bot? Well shit, everybody should just stop RPing against Chris then, but playzooki would obviously be a piece of cake. :v:

I should be happy with 3-1, especially with Jesus finally getting a win, and finally scoring a win over Kody, but the Freezerburn vs Jackal match surprised me. I'd expected Jackal to dominate Aggression, but reading the match, I don't think Strategy should have fallen like that myself, if Jackal wasn't able to follow up.

I really hope that's the last time I get swept. I'm a much better roboteer than this, I fucking swear. At least I kept three of them relatively close.
