The first thing I should note is that Shiver is a very similar design to Shockwave [Only its a 2WD flipper instead of a 4WD clamper], and as such, suffers from a lot of the same issues that Shockwave does: Again, poor control, and poor armor [His bonuses at the front and back aren't going to help him, since my hammer whacks his top so he's essentially going into this with 3 armor] I've mentioned how these two combine together terribly already, he spins out, he's an easy target, and bad armor and being an easy target means you're going to take a pretty nasty pounding. The major difference here over Shovearound vs Shockwave, he has to eat my hammer, rather than the arena's. And while Shockwave and Shiver are fairly similar robots, Night Train and Shovearound are two totally different robots, and while this first might cause you to think a lot of the same strategy wouldn't apply, you'd be quite wrong on that. Not going to try to fake him out at the start, unlike before, but I AM going to milk the "keep him on his toes strategy" for all it's worth. I want him to make the first move rather than me: But in the meantime keep my hammer facing him best I can. He moves in, A-ok with me, as I should have plenty of time to aim and fire my hammer at him. And speaking of that hammer, it's going to smart. A lot. He'll probably flip me before I can run away, although obviously I'm gonna try to avoid getting wound up on my rear end. But chances are I will, and chances are he'll take control of me for a bit and get me into some hazards before I can get back on track. Can't really do anything about this except suck it up..although obviously I don't have to worry about him flipping anymore if I can bust his flipper, a very possible scenario. I see this fight coming down to who can bust something vital inside the other first: If I can break his flipper, he loses his ability to make me harmless and while he'll probably wedge under me, I will likely still be able to whack him before he can get under me, causing him even more damage, and since I'm right side up, I may actually be able to escape his clutches via my hammer before I can go anywhere. But if he can get me into a hazard and I get unlucky and a wheel breaks off or something [Not impossible at all due to 5 armor] I'm kind of screwed, as Night Train isn't exactly the most controllable bot around [Although more so than Shiver] and it's going to be even harder fighting 3 wheels. With Shiver's superior speed, traction, and control, I'm going to have a LOT more trouble landing blows. In order to deal damage, I most likely am going to have to take damage. So I need to be very precise with my shots: One miss could be all it takes to make me lose this. Just aim steady and hope for the best, and with any luck he'll break down before the hammers do something to my average-ish armor. And it goes without saying that if his control gets all freaky and it winds up giving me a free shot at him [I.e, I can easily reach the side of him long before he can turn and react], then I'm obviously going to take it, as a hit without me taking a counter-attack is literally a blessing here, and one that I'm hoping [although not depending on] to happen. That covers it, nice seeing you again this week, gerbil film |

Not to be confused with the gerbil movie.

okay, this actually shouldn't be too bad. I'm faster, which is good. his weapon is extremely dependent on accuracy, which is going to be difficult if i'm buzzing around. also, I have a wedge. I'm on two wheels, weighted towards the front. I'm pretty positive I can slip under his boxy body. Charge out, and just confuse him. buzz around the robot, and at a random time, go in for the kill. swoop under him, push forward, and flip, before he has a chance to realize quite where I am and slam the hammer. my flipper should send him head-over heels. now, I'm always a little skeptical when it comes to SriMechs and hammers. they all say the can self right, but half of the time, the angles that they rest on make it more difficult than they anticipate. so that's why i'm going to wait for a moment. see if he can position that hammer in such a way that he self rights. if he's having trouble, leave him alone and let him be counted out. but he if does self-right, charge at him so fast and flip him over again before he has a chance to rotate his hammer to face me again. when he's upside down, continue to push and flip him around. don't give him a chance to get back on his feet and hit me with that thing. good luck |
