Majestic's been having a pretty good run so far. Let's see if I can't solidify my status as a threat by snapping the #1 HW in the Nightmare Conference's perfect streak. Of course, that's easier said than done...but I just might be able to do it. This calls for the...hm...Hammer Setup. 4 armor vs 10 weapon. Granted, I don't want to go anywhere near his blade. Luckily, I have no intention of doing so. As Green Hornet recently proved against the shitty version of Shovearound, a 2 speed lead isn't always enough to outmaneuver your foe, but I'll be damned if I won't get to his side some of the time. In addition, Revolver's a bulky robot, and that huge blade is going to cause some gyroscopic forces, especially since it's hanging out at the front like that. Whichever way his blade is spinning, he's going to turn faster in that direction and slower in the other direction. First things first: Analyze which way he turns faster. This shouldn't be hard. Run out, and go to a position where he would have to turn left to go on the offense. Like: R [slightly tilted right] M Back the hell off as soon as I see a turning motion from him. Now, I only need to do this once to evaluate where his weakness is. If he turns decently enough, his weakness is turning right. If he turns slowly, it's certainly going to be apparent enough for me to see that as his weakness. Anyway, once I know which end is his weak point, force him to turn in that direction. This isn't much of a task: All I have to do is attack the same side as his slow turning point. Since he has no wedge protection at the wheels, I'll slide right under him, and since his blade is hideously low to the floor, I imagine he might freak out a little at my sudden offbalancing of him, we're talking about at least some blade-to-floor contact. If it causes him to soar off me, scamper around to the arena and attack him at his weak point again. If it hits the floor but he's still on me, take him to the hammers and whack him with my own hammer the entire time I'm in control of him. Repeat this over, and over, and over until he goes down or until the buzzer rings: In a nutshell: After evaluating which way he has turning issues with him, take full advantage of that weakness for the kill. that's about it, Good luck Josh |

As with most bots that have speed advantages over me, I'll be playing it somewhat defensive, at least in the early going. I'll be waiting for him to make his move on me. If he rushes, just keep the bar facing him. He's only two points faster so I should be able to greet him with my weapon. If he plays it slow, I just have to watch him as he comes in. If he's playing it slow, it might be prudent to force some action, but going in to attack when he starts getting really close, and doesn't really have a lot of room left for fancy manuvering. With my undercutter, I can hit him without him having a shot at getting under me, and keep his weapon away from me. His armor is only 4 so some aggression is actually kind of prudent here since my weapon power is more than double that. After the first contact, I just have to keep up the pressure. I can be a little aggressive, but I want to make sure that I keep my weapon facing him at all times. If he would get around to my side, then I just have to do whatever neccecary to drive off before he can cause any major damage to me. This match is just a case of who can outlast the other and cause the most damage (all by making the least amount of driving mistakes). Good Luck! |
