The Lost Warrior

For this match I'll come at him backwards with my jaws open. My rear plow is 8 armor and designed to deflect hits, so I'll try to push (or knock) him into a wall. Once I have him stopped I'll spin and take control with the jaws, dragging him to any hazards I can get him to. I'll use my control and aggression to score points, while busting him up with hazards. Good luck and may the best bot win. |

The unforeseen consequences of ABC's Battlebots selection process: 1999: Shadetree tinkerer sees combat robots made from wheelchair parts and old tire rims; says I can do this. Hobby robotic combat is born. 2016: Shadetree tinkerer sees combat robots that look like they were designed by NASA engineers with DARPA funding; says I can't do this. Hobby robotic combat dies. | |

His plow is 8 armor, which means the rest of him is only 6. I'm using the wedges for this fight. He's probably attacking me with the plow, since the front would get beat up. His speed is better than mine, but his torque is only 1 point higher, so I hopefully won't take too much more recoil than him. His speed is only six, so he won't be able to box rush me, and I should have time to spin up. I should also be able to move away from the wall to avoid being cornered and recoiling into it. When he collide, I'm hoping my wedge either catch the corners of where the plow angles or to at least knock him to the side. The shape of the wedges will make it harder for him to just plow into me and have my weapon grind into his plow. It's also important to keep in mind that my weapon still has 2 more power than his plow's armor, so I'll still do damage to it. If I can knock him away, I need to go right back at him. If I can hit his sides or his wheels in the right way, he should flip over. This eliminates his plows leverage advantage. If he comes at me with an upside down plow, my wedges will get right under it and toss him around. If he comes at me with the jaws, open or closed, my wedges should hit the sides of the jaws before he can get under me and knock him away. |
