Agent Orange: Speed: 3 Traction: 1 Armour: 5 Weapon: 13 Thwedge: Speed: 9 Armour: 7 (+1 wedge, -1 elsewhere) Torque: 6 Weapon: 0 There's no denying that's a kick-ass spinner, but I have advantages in every other category. Also a big advantage for Thwedge against a spinner like this one is that it can't spin up if the wheels aren't on the ground, because it's a translational spinner. I think I can take at least one hit from Agent Orange, and due to his awful traction he's going to damage himself too, and go flying into the wall on impact. I'm not getting flung as far as he is, so I can come back on the attack quickly. So the plan is to ram across the arena as fast as possible and stop the spinning ASAP. Once he's on my wedge, never leave him enough time to spin up. I'll take him to the pulverisers when he's on my wedge, doing some damage with my overhead thwack and maybe even hooking through some the holes in his bodywork with a lucky shot. If he does get off my wedge, or I have to release him, then drive under again quickly top stop him spinning up. Good luck! ![]() |

For this match I'm going to try to be as mobile as possible to present a hard target. I'll stay clear of the walls and remain in open area. As he approaches me I'll strafe to his side and come back in for a hit on his wheels or rear armor as he passes me. I want to avoid his wedge at all times and try to tear his tires up or get a hit on the main chassis. If he gets control of me I'll still have at least one wheel on the ground, which I'll move back and forth to slide off of him. I may not KO him, but if my plan works I'll have a huge advantage in damage and strategy by the time the match ends. Good luck and may the best bot win. |

The unforeseen consequences of ABC's Battlebots selection process: 1999: Shadetree tinkerer sees combat robots made from wheelchair parts and old tire rims; says I can do this. Hobby robotic combat is born. 2016: Shadetree tinkerer sees combat robots that look like they were designed by NASA engineers with DARPA funding; says I can't do this. Hobby robotic combat dies. | |
