...I strongly disagree with some of those sentiments but I will keep my mouth shut in the interest of cross channel harmony :P

Except for one thing - there weren't about 3/4 of robots with pneumatic flippers, nowadays it's closer to 7/8 on the live event circuit. The remainder are either pneumatic axes, rammers, and whatever it is that Scorpion is doing now (what does a disc robot become if the disc is turned off? hmm)

Things got a little better as the seasons went on; season seven was great in terms of robots not breaking down during the fight. Still the huge number of flippers does make it unfun, and I never cared for the house robots that much

We should have ARC: Robot Wars where there's like 5 enormous bots in the arena at all times, all hazards are either completely ineffective or pits, and all robots work at 50% performance. Whatever a certain stat is, cut it in half. Also, 3/4 of all bots have to be pneumatic flippers.

it's more like 2 or 3

just saying

I don't think Housebots would be a horrible addition to ARC and they could work, but pits and OOTAs aren't really needed since goddess knows rammers are dominant enough already

where the fuck did the subject of pits come from, anyway

There shouldn't be any need to go into it, but housebots would be a terrible addition to CFL and were a terrible part of Robot Wars

How is that? They're essentially more destructive hazards

you forgot the part where the armour has to be made of fiberglass soaked in diesel fuel, so that the flame pits are actually worth the cost of gas, and the mediocer spinners look better than they actually are.
Nothing to see here, people, move along

If he turned down the render lines, it would look a bit better.

This new SHW entry from Team Omegaforce makes only my fourth different SHW ever. The design is based heavily on the concepts of Toro and The Matador, with my own twists. The main design feature to note is that the front end is V-shaped. This method proved effective in both Copperhead and S.W.A.T. 3 in deflecting spinners, and is also used on the new Adrenaline. It also shares the "reactive armor" feature with Adrenaline, but only on the front end. The two front armor panels are held in place by very tough rubber bushings, acting as a shock absorbing titanium barrier between opponents and the main chassis. The weapon is a very powerful flipping arm using two pneumatic cylinders and CO2 for power. The arm itself is milled from a single block of billet aluminum, making it extremely strong and rigid. The main chassis consists of a tubular steel mono-frame with aluminum armor panels. Mobility is provided by 2 of the same motors used in Copperhead. Chain driven four wheel drive allows for great traction while allowing enough internal room for the tanks and batteries.

No Joy

No Joy is a new MW entry that oddly enough still looks just the fuck like JAKT. The chassis is as usual a tubular steel frame with aluminum armor panels. This chassis however, is three individual pieces. The two outside portions are shock connected to a central bar, which the center section rides on using ball bearings for support. This makes the whole robot very impact resistant and good at driving over uneven surfaces. Mechanical stops prevent the center section from moving more than 45 degrees up or down from the neutral position. Additional armor comes in the form of the stylized rear plow, mounted on rubber bushings. The drivetrain is a pair of cambered gearmotors with reinforced axels. The weapon rests in the center section, and is powered by two linear actuators. The two actuators act as one, so the upper and lower jaws do not have independent control. The actuators press on the drive fulcrum of a mechanical scissors linkage, opening and closing the jaws. The jaws can serve multiple functions, including wedge, lifter, and clamp.
The unforeseen consequences of ABC's Battlebots selection process:

1999: Shadetree tinkerer sees combat robots made from wheelchair parts and old tire rims; says I can do this. Hobby robotic combat is born.

2016: Shadetree tinkerer sees combat robots that look like they were designed by NASA engineers with DARPA funding; says I can't do this. Hobby robotic combat dies.

Even though most of your bots are bizarro Mutant Robots stuff, they're still cool looking. No Joy's even speed and torque and going to make it a bitch to fight.

Haha, yeah I take most of my inspiration from Don Hudson.

Well so far, it looks like my team-up is gonna look like:

LW: Troubloon or Anti-Virus, depending on how Anti-Virus does
MW: Jinx (Terminus is shit)
HW: a Shadow Zone redesign (may become a full-blown rammer)
SHW: either Tax Cutter's Return stays, or a huge-ass flipper I have planned, depending on how TCR does

for next ARC
