Not a bad redesign at all, Alex.

As for my crew, well let's see...

Scarab and Fulcrum pretty much failed, so they probably won't be back. Perseus might return with a better stat allocation, because he just wasn't fast enough. Shadow Zone Forever, however, is definitely returning, win or lose. He might get a slight facelift or redesign, though.

I got frustrated working on Return of Feedback so I knocked up what might be my new heavyweight

Automaton is basically a regular wedge, but it has two racks of 'razor strips' (running on the same motor) that can rotate upwards and aid in hooking and controlling robots. Then there are the obvious two wedge arms that have 360 degrees of rotation that serve as the main lifter.

Haha, that sounded wrong.

Seriously, though, the design looks interesting. I have questions of how effective the lifters will be but admire the effort.

Been messin around with SZF, and here's what may or may not be the final result:

It's a bit lower, and the scoop's now angled at the sides and lengthened: thus it's even less steep than if I had not lengthened it and just left it lowered with the rest of the body. The flipper's pretty much working the same as it was before. More leverage in the front and back this time around. Still might adjust it a bit more.

And a front and side view for convenience:

Comments appreciated, so I know I don't fuck up in the next ARC, lol

It doesn't look any different, honestly.

It's still a great anti-spinner but has almost no defense against wedges or flippers.

Eh, ToC lost to it, so it's doing something right.

I should go 3-1 this week but it'll probably be something like 0-4 or 0-5.

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

That wedged back aka his flipper might do a good job against wedges/flippers

I figure having side skirts might hurt manoeuvrability a bit, and besides no skirt is completely invincible, even sprung skirts.

But yeah, Joey just pointed something out to me about the scoop not completely against the ground; the wheels can be visible below it in the front view, so I'll change that soon, lol

And yeah I forgot to say, Alex, nice new HW. Kind of like a non-boring Voltronic. (jk) Question, though. Are there blades on the underside, so if it gets flipped it can still use those?

Oh, and just for Dylan's convenience (and lucky I saved the new SZF under a diff. name), here are some renders of the current SZF and the new one together, so he can see the difference. :P

Unfortunately no, but the lifting arms do have 360 degree rotation so, if I really wanted to, I could self-right so I could use them again.

Looking good, G-Force. Doesn't look like it can self-right, though. Or quickly, if the claw can bend all the way back. Still a damn good render though, and it looks really fuckin effective right side up, lol

But there's probably a proper srimech on there somewhere that I can't see so I'll go ahead and shut up. :P

If the weapon is powerful enough, it doesn't need to bend all the way back, just push with enough power to get enough momentum to get it over.
There are few crimes in our modern society that merit public beating. Interrupting someone's enjoyment of Messiah to request "Jingle Bells" by the Singing Dogs is irrefutably one such offense.

Maybe I'll add Razer-like wings to be safe.

I'm working on my new HW spinner, "Don't Flick the Bean"
It's a design that, hopefully, will take little to no damage upon intense impacts.

It's wide enough, maybe just put a thing on the back of the claw to push it back up.

HW: Don't Flick the Bean

Friction-driven spinner.
There are four motors mounted horizontally, driving rubber tires. The shell of the robot is in contact with these tires, and that's what powers the spinning motion. The rest of the shell is resting on frictionless tracks at the bottom and top.

Since the shell is not directly attached to a motor, the damage to the bot itself on rough impacts will be severely reduced. Impact is spread across four tires, which will continue to spin while the shell momentarily stops.

This is just the first version, I'm sure I'll tweak alot of things before it gets to compete.

Nice spinner. I noticed lots of people have been turning to friction driven weapons lately.

SHW: Dead Zone.

Still might change this, if I decide it's too ineffective.
Essentially, I zoom under opponents, wedge them, lift them into the "pit" (open space in the center of the bot) and then, while they're stuck in there, just take them to the arena hazards and hold them there. they can't go anywhere or do anything.
