Perhaps you could use double-sided teeth for when it's inverted? Hubris uses a similar system that allows its Cutting Drum to work either way up, so if you lined the conveyor belt with double-ended chainsaw-like teeth and protected the chassis with strong armour and adjustable hinge wedges, it could work very well indeed. |

Well then you run into the issue that the hooks on the treads (assuming you were going for similar style as the last version of Striker) would be going in the wrong direction to "catch" the enemy bot so it still wouldn't be as effective as the original orientation of the bot. Of course if you were going with an upward pointing system like the first version of Striker had, then it wouldn't matter in the slightest. For what it's worth (issues with invertiblity aside) I think the hooks are much more useful than regular spikes. That's why I used hooks instead of spikes on King K. Rool (although again, K Rool didn't really have to worry about invertibility with his treads). |

Apologies for the double post here, this bot will replace The Maiden in the SHW category in LoRE (And possibly Fucking Annoyance in CBBR)![]() Please welcome the ass kicking bot with a girls name... It's Josie! Josie is a bot that has a lethal combination for her weapons. For starters, she is a ring spinner with two sets of teeth (In red) going all the way around the bot to rip into it's enemies and deal huge damage. For her second weapon, she wields a large axe that should bash the crap out of her adversaries. It is mounted on a 360 degree rotating turret much like Adrenaline and Pressure Drop. It also has four green "Cushions" which are there for a reason. It's there to prevent the axe shaft from smashing into the top of itself and stop the weapon getting caught in the ring spinner. There are four of them, which complement the rotating turret. Has 4WD and in the event of being flipped, the axe can be used to self right her. Note: The view of the top is only to display the "Cushions" for the axe and the turret. Here are the stats for Josie Speed: 5 Traction: 4 Torque: 1 Armour: 5 Wedge: 0 Weapon: 15 (-2 for separate weapons, giving the axe a power of 13 and the ring spinner a power of 13) So... what do you think guys? |

Actually it would lose additional points because there's a rotating head which is a THIRD active component to the weapon. So it would be that the hammer AND spinner are actually 11 if I'm thinking right (a total of -4). |

Kody explained this rule to me before I made this bot, since the turret is a third active, it would actually be -3 giving the hammer and the spinner 12, but I could be wrong. |

Hmm... I was pretty sure it was -2 for each active component. Let me dig up the rules on this:
Okay, so I'm thinking that the ring spinner, the hammer, and the rotating turret would all have to be seperate systems. A hammer and rotating turret are always seperate systems (and get -2) and either of those would HAVE to be separate from the system that powers the ring spinner. So that's where I would get you'd be down 4 points. Of course if Kody quoted you -3, I'm not sure why your theoretical stats say -2. |

Very well, guess I cannot argue with that, I'll change the stats when I place it in the sign ups for LoRE, my apologies. |

D'oh. For mutli-weapon bots I always thought it was -1 for each active weapon (and weapon assist, like the turret) you had on you. Shows how much I know, eh? <_< Sorry for the misinformation Lian. |

It's alright, I suppose it would be an easy mistake to make cause we haven't had that many bots with multiple weapons like this in recent memory. No harm done man

For a while now, I've been thinking of a redesign for Dr Thwack, after being unchanged for almost 3 years I think it was time I gave it a new design. Why? It's simple, it was always getting flipped and could never pop itself back over and the blade was never really effective against undercutters such as Tax Cutter and Jack Frost. Here it is ![]() Going back to the good old name of Dr Thwack, no EVO's or Grow-REVOLUTION this time. Just a good plain old name. It now feature's a Tri-Bar with spinning hammers on it to punish bots with fury. Much like Freezerburn, the bots weapons are VERY low to the ground, but are not touching the floor if you get my drift. The bot also feature's a back up wedge in case the spinner suddenly dies. The white spot in the middle of the Tri-Bar demonstrates where exactly the self righting pole will be fitted (The pole is just below the bot in the picture) The pole can be attached and removed, depending on this opponent it would fight. Now originally, this bot featured a side view to show how the pole fits into the bot, but the shape I got could be used for a shell spinner, which I did. ![]() This is Archer Gryph, a shell spinner with three sets of lethal teeth going across the shell, the lower set of teeth are for dealing with wedges and undercutters, the middle set and upper set are for dealing with everything else. Also has a self righting pole, but just to be on the safe side, this bot will NEVER remove it's pole. Note: Apologies about the middle set of teeth being off on Archer Gryph, should have spaced them out a bit more. That said, what does everyone think? |

Yeah, that was me being the destruction freak I am, I wanted to pack as many teeth on there as I possibly could to maximize the damage capabilities, but maybe losing a few won't hurt. |

Both are good designs, but I'd like to provide a bit of science regarding Archer Gryph's teeth. Regarding some things, less is more, and in the case of shell spinner teeth, that's certainly true as having fewer teeth would do more damage with each blow, since they have more time to build up the necessary kinetic energy to do damage. Think of it like dropping an apple onto different spiked surfaces- - On a bed of nails, the nails would be so close together that the apple would simply bounce off, due to their closely-packnedness and resulting lack of ability to concentrate damage onto one point. - On a surface with a few longer spikes however, the apple would be much more likely to be impaled on one of the spikes due to the possibility to focus more power into the tips of the spikes. Just a bit of an explanation really, but I hope it helps.
