As for results at the moment -- superb, looks like it's all coming up Alex so far! Got a nice win with Marauder against a frankly terrifying flipper (even if I did end up in traction -- good thing you get infinite repair time until next Sunday AD. ), and was especially happy with the Heavyweight result. Very pleased to see Dreadnought do well against a previous champion, and despite all the set-backs with the armour against the deathspinners, it's clawing something back. Might even just make playoffs if we're really lucky!

Kind of surprised it was 3-1 this week instead of 1-3, and ironically the bot I thought would win lost and the bots I thought would lose won. /shrug, but at least in a good way this time. |

3-1 again this week, yay! Pinstripe, The Maw, and Sinmill have settled into comfortable mediocrity and Speed Bison... continues to be good. I'm not used to this! |

Well to be fair, I was pretty much expecting a rather gruesome demise in that SHW bout, anyway -- trying to stop Tax Cutter's disc with what I had there is like trying to prevent a tsunami with a mop and bucket. EDIT: On the plus side though, Lightweight went one heck of a lot better than expected! Not only a great back-and-forth flipper brawl in its own right, but Ayame finally getting a legitimate win over Witness Me is a nice way to cap off a tough week. |

Well folks, we’re now officially halfway through the Ruination 4 Group Stages, with seven round of fighting down and six to go! Let’s look at how the divisions are shaping up. Lightweights: Waifubot Division is totally dominated by the bricks, which are in a close race against each other. Hoarfrost, Mushroom Cloud, and Ayame are all tied at 6-1, with Hoarfrost having a tiebreaker against Ayame and Ayame having one against Mushroom Cloud. All three also have a win against one of the other division’s frontrunners: Hoarfrost and Ayame have beaten Flash Flood and Mushroom Cloud managed to take down the feared La Valette. The rest of the division is trailing far behind: Witness Me is 3-4, which isn’t encouraging since its only fight with any of the top-tier control bots in the conference so far is a loss. Nervous Wedge Boy has also managed a 3-4, but Tidal Wave, interestingly enough, is only 2-5. Finally poor Blitz, underweight from the start, has only won by forfeit so far. MissingNo Division is a bit less lopsided, but only has two really strong entries. In the lead is La Valette, which has knocked out EVERYTHING that’s gone into the arena with it – its only loss was a double KO against Mushroom Cloud. Flash Flood, Team Ignition’s super-fast front-hinged flipper, is 5-2 after a loss to Hoarfrost. The two have yet to meet in battle, but if anything can defeat La Valette’s spinning bar it’s the heavily-armored front of Flash Flood. Eat Me Too, the canted thwackbot, is also technically in contention at 5-2, but it’s been beaten by both the frontrunners so making it to the playoffs is unlikely at this stage. Servant’s Assistant and its underpowered axe/clamp have struggled against the spinners, but it’s getting decent results against other control designs and may finish in a decent position due to the conference’s composition. The division’s weaker spinners, Bluebot and Sir Morphsalot, are both pretty much out of it, and… yeah, Green Brick. It’s lost everything, including KO-ing itself against La Valette due to driving into the hazards and getting stuck on its side. In the other conference, nVidia GeForce Division has another triumvirate of bricks. Nick’s Fuzzy Rules, the Angry Goat lifter with an unpowered polishing wheel, and Experiment 626, Team Instant Regret’s near-indestructible lifting wedge, are in the lead at 6-1, with no tiebreaker battle so far. The surprising dark horse entry from Team Cardboard Pony (badumtss.wav) is Ramshock, which won its first five fights and is in third place. The Thieving Magpie had a rocky start but is now at 4-3 and boasts one of only two wins against Ramshock. Pinstripe, the mecanum-wheeled vertical spinner, has also done well so far, with upset wins against Cream and NFR and an overall 4-3 record after losing to Anti-Virus, 626, and TMP. Cream, the trackball flail melty, has so far not met expectations. Yes, it’s won three fights, but it also got beaten by Pinstripe and White Lightning, both bots it should have had an advantage against. It has quite a few more weakly armored opponents to chew up so it could rise in the rankings, but it also still has more spinner killers to fight. Yellow Buzzard is in last partly due to French ennui resulting in forfeits, but it's still got three wins. Twitch.tv division is the most lopsided in the whole event! Anti-Virus is undefeated. Dr. Robotnik is at 4-3 after getting beat up by both of the conference’s vertical spinners and Anti-Virus. It could take some more wins against Ramshock, TMP, and Despicable Twins, but otherwise has hard matchups ahead. Nevertheless it could make the playoffs by virtue of no one else even having a winning record! Everyone else is pretty much out of it with Electric Aggression, Exotherm, and Despicable Twins at 2-5, White Lightning at 1-6, and Serial Forfeiter HIRRicaine winless. Middleweights: The Delightfully Devilish Devision is lead by Harbinger – no surprise given its amazing drivetrain and sturdy wedge – followed by Magnolia Pico (gee, a Monsterworks Walker, surprise surprise) and Stingray (actual surprise given that it beat Diablo Genesis and Eye of Noot). The rest of the division’s fairly close, but the bots don’t seem the best overall; there’s G.B.J, which has somehow won three fights despite its poor control on a dustpan saw, Eye of N00t, which got a FF win and beat up Magnolia Pico, and since then has lost everything else because nobody likes tryhard bots on the filler team, Kid A, which has been solidly Meh, and Instigator which has gotten both its wins by forfeit. In Black Hole Sun Division, Sundancer has rekt everything but Diablo Genesis. Lulver, the agile control undercutter, has gotten a win against Magnolia Pico, but otherwise not really done much impressive despite its 5-2 record. Also at 5-2 is Diablo Genesis, whose only losses are surprising ones to Stingray and The Maw. Harpy has been performing decently, getting two knockouts without even having an active weapon and only losing by close decisions. Its true potential seems wasted with the lack of strong spinners in the conference, though. The Maw has been boring. Magica beat Harbinger in Round 1, after which Pyro decided to quit while he was behind and forfeit everything. Finally, Biological Warfare seems to be pretty much cursed, and has no legitimate wins, just a forfeit from Magica. In the other conference, EA Games Division is pretty close. Marauder has been winning fights as expected, with the exception being an upset to The Magpie Effect. Glitch has done well, if not spectacularly, although it beat the feared WhipCoil. The same goes for Plata O Plomo, which has otherwise been beating up lower-tier bots and taken two losses to horizontal spinners. And… actually the same goes for Raus MK IV as well. Marauder is a frontrunner, but otherwise this division is very much up in the air, with everyone but Mole Butcher having a winning record. Glitch has to stay on top of its game if it wants to keep that second place ranking. Bose Division is a little less close. Clown Recluse lost to the current second-ranked bot, Killing Intent, but it has a massive lead at 6-1vs. 4-3 and will be hard to catch. KI has won three and lost two against spinners, which isn’t too encouraging since it’s kind of a one-trick pony spinner-killer. It’s likely to pick up wins against Metal 2 and Patchouli, but Marauder, Plata, and Whipcoil should be able to push or launch it around fairly easily, and Glitch is no guarantee based on its performance against control spinners so far. Lupi and Patchouli have both had a tough time but have a mix of good and bad matchups ahead. Whipcoil was predicted to do well, but it’s been… surprisingly bad. It’s not winning the brick fights, and based on its performance against Raus it seems like the tongue attachment might not be working for it. Metal 2 has, as predicted, gotten flipped pretty consistently, and Heaven Jaws 3 has been a miserable failure with no wins whatsoever. Heavyweights: In Vietnamese Crystal division, Wedgelord is the frontrunner at 6-1, but Dysprosinator isn't far behind – although Wedgelord has the tiebreaker. Flashback has done decently despite its lack of experience, and still has a shot at the playoffs. Chad the Inhaler has gotten two wins, which is impressive for basically a joke entry but one’s a forfeit and the other’s against Duck King so it might as well be. Speaking of which, both Duck King and Devil’s Verdict are winless due to poor stat allocation, and honestly I can’t imagine either picking up any win besides against each other or as a forfeit. And speaking of forfeits, Narcissistic Hotshot has copied its little brother Magica by getting one win and then vanishing. Neglected Waterbug is dominating GameTechMods Division, but on the other hand its opponents have all been either spinners, forfeits, or just plain bad, and the conference has enough decent bricks and control spinners that it may well lose its crown and even its playoff spot. Behind it at 6-1 are Lunatic Udonge, an interchangeable flipper/axe with mecanum wheels, and Hazardous Waste Removal, an undercutter / visual hazard. Cutthroat is doing surprisingly well given its unusual weaponry and LOLFIVETORQUE, but it’s not exactly getting wins against the cream of the crop. Also struggling are the sideways horizontal spinner of Sinmill, the overhead of Flandre Scarlet, and the hammer of America Offline. In the other conference, Raytheism Division is much stronger. Klarinette 4 has been bricking its way to victory, with its only losses being to Malacoda and Magnolia Grande. Malacoda. Also 5-2, and tied with Klarinette, is the melty-brain Charybdis. After an initial loss to Meanstreak, it’s left no survivors in its wake, with its other loss to Dreadnought being after a double KO thanks to knocking itself into the hazards. At this point it’s running out of easy matchups against weakly armored bots, but no bot can take it lightly. Malacoda has had a three-match losing streak, and fallen to third place after its loss to Charybdis, but it still boasts a win against Klarinette and isn’t out of the running yet. The rest of the division is veterans which have been unable to repeat their success in previous tournaments. Death Metal, Redemption Denied, Dreadnought, and Coup De Grace all sit at 3-4. Dreadnought leads the bottom four so far with tiebreakers against Coup De Grace and RD. Death Metal has managed to avoid the others and has zero tiebreaker points, RD has minus one, and Coup De Grace is in last place with minus two. The Pound Division is much more lopsided. Infrared has yet to lose a fight, and the Mantella Brothers are both hot on its tail at 6-1: despite their very different designs Magnolia Grande and Meanstreak have well, just kept winning. And everyone else in the division has done terribly. Golden Blaze is 2-5, Mr. Bight Sky and Micro Cuts are 1-6, and the only one of those wins that’s against a decent machine is Mr. Bight Sky beating Coup de Grace. Poor Nyam Nyam Nya has the dubious achievement of not just going 0-7, but losing by knockout every time. We can’t all be Spectre. Superheavyweights: Tankasaurus Division can be summarized as: “Jesus Christ Tax Cutter!” Seven fights, six wins, six knockouts. And what’s more, three of those are against Danger Noodle, Lethal Injection, and Lifter 2: Electric Boogaloo, the best-armored bots in the conference, so at this point Tax Cutter could easily go 13-0! Danger Noodle and Parasoul are the main contenders for second place, with Danger Noodle having the tiebreaker win. Ikea’s Guard Dog is also in the running, but its mediocre armor has given it spinner problems so far. And, uhh… Cyclone, Count Bleck, and Death Turret 2000 are all winless or 1-6 due to forfeits, being Count Bleck, and the Pat Effect respectively. AnimeNorth Division isn’t quite as bad. Fenrir is the frontrunner at 6-1, and Lethal Injection right behind it. Froral Fury is somehow 5-2, but it has reliability issues and is likely to slip in the rankings as the competition draws on. Needles and Froral Fury are trailing at 4-3, with Needles winning by forfeits and its opponents failing at life, Lifter 2 just not performing that well. Scrunglebot is 3-4, but they're all forfeits. Hartmann’s Youkai Bot is 1-6, but only won by beating Count Bleck, and does that really count? In the other conference, the Calvinball Division in general has taken a big lead, with and Krakatoa and Beef King, both at 6-1, Space Cadet and Jack Frost at 5-2, and Phantasmic Slammer and Triple 6 at 4-3. So really, everybody but Howler III doing well. In other news, Shanghai is now the world’s leading salt exporter. Speed Bison is the clear front runner in bot257 Division; nobody else even has a winning record. Khnum, and Metal Heck are all battling it out for a consolation prize second place, with Xonotic and Chemical Explosion facing a steep uphill battle to even manage that. Ravex and Panzer Strike both have a terminal case of New Roboteer Syndrome. The Teams: Team Covenant: Anti-Virus and Tax Cutter are both undefeated, Plata e Plomo is doing okay at 4-3, and Devil’s Verdict… lol. Team Blood Gulch: Harbinger is the best performer here at 5-1. Dr. Robotnik and Redemption Denied are just slogging along at 3-3, with playoffs being a long shot. The same is true for Jack Frost despite it being 4-2, because its division is just so lopsided. Team Cardboard Pony: As I said, Pat has really surprised us with this version of Ramshock, initially going 5-0. It could have problems with the spinners in its class, but is still a strong candidate for the playoffs. Everything else has done poorly, with three 1-6s. Team Stealth: Harpy is the only real playoff contender at 4-3, with the other machines underperforming. Thieving Magpie and Triple 6 are scraping along at 4-3, and Death Metal is struggling at 3-4. Chaotic Robotics: Eat Me Too and Lulver are both in contention for the playoffs at 5-2, but it’s a little bit of an uphill battle. Wedgelord is comfortably leading its division, and Scrunglebot… well, I don’t think even Brad expected it to do well, and it hasn’t because GIANT SAW. It’s managed 3-4, but again that size more about its opponents than it does about it. North-West Sheds: Witness Me, the purchase from Monsterworks, seems to be a lemon at 3-4 and fourth place in its division. Ikea's Guard Dog and Kid A are pretty much out of playoff contention as well, and Micro Cuts is pretty much doomed at 1-6. Angry Goat Robotics: Nick’s Fuzzy Rules is in the top two of its division at 6-1, Glitch is in a scramble for second at 5-2. Hazardous Waste Removal is also at 6-1, but still in a tie for second due to Neglected Waterbug lulz. Khnum is in second place too, without much chance of advancing to first at 3-3. Team Foxtrot Uniform: Here’s another team with mixed results. Mushroom Cloud and Space Cadet both stand in the top three of their divisions at 6-1 and 5-2, but will have to keep performing well to make the playoffs. America Offline is in last place at 2-5, and Biological Warfare is in Extra-Shameful-Last-Place. End of the Line LLC: Cream and Patchouli have kind of underperformed at 3-4 and 4-3 due to traction problems, but Patchouli still isn't totally out of it.. Beef King is in the top 3 of its division at 5-1 and likely to make the playoffs, and Neglected Waterbug has pulled off a 7-0 so far, but it may struggle in the second half of the group stage when it actually has to fight other bricks. Alpha Robotics: Fenrir stands out on this team, tied for the top of its division at 6-1. Diablo Genesis is fighting for second at 5-2, and Coup De Grace is in last at 3-4. White Lightning, always a bit of a problem child for the team, only has one win, although it’s an impressive one, lasting the full 3 minutes against Cream despite its weak armor. Team Team British Robotics: Unfortunately the only bot here with a winning record is Dysprosinator at 5-2. Everything else is stuck at 2-5, with Instigator being especially noteworthy for only winning by forfeit so far. Team 57: This team has also had problems. Lifter 2: Electric Boogaloo has the best record at 4-3, but it still faces an uphill climb to make the playoffs and even its armor wasn’t enough to beat Tax Cutter. Flandre Scarlet, Remi IV, and Tidal Wave II are far down in their divisions at 2-5, 4-3, and 2-5 respectively. Aquatic Robotics: Speed Bison has indeed gone fast, and is leading its division at 6-1. Pinstripe and Sinmill aren't doing that badly at 4-3, but will struggle to make the playoffs. The Maw is in a similar boat at 3-4. Tartarus Robotics Group: Goddamnit Laz. Hoarfrost, 6-1. Sundancer, 6-1. Meanstreak, 6-1. Krakatoa, 6-1. What’s worse is that two of them are basically exploit bots. Ice Cubed Robotics: Ayame, Marauder, and Lethal Injection are all in strong positions to make the playoffs at 6-1, 6-1, and 5-2. Dreadnought is struggling to compete with the new generation of spinners, and is far back in it's division's rankings at 3-4. Team Instant Regret: This is another of those teams where there aren’t really any *bad* robots. Experiment 626 and Clwon Recluse are both at 6-1, with 626 only losing to Anti-Virus so far and Clown Recluse only losing to Killing Intent, which can really only counter spinners. The heavier bots, Charybdis and Danger Noodle, aren’t doing quite as well but still have 5-2 records and a shot at the playoffs. Team Ignition: Flash Flood is tied for second place in its conference at 5-1, and Malacoda is in third at 4-3. Phantasmic Slammer has also gone 4-2, but due to its division being severely stacked, it’s only in fifth place. Finally, poor Whipcoil has really struggled, and at the moment it seems unlikely that it will make the playoffs this time. The Monsterworks: “Retired” my ass. Alex has, as usual, only entered obnoxious robots, and La Valette has pretty much breezed through most of its fights with its only loss being a double KO. Both the Magnolias are in second at 4-3 for Pico and 6-1 for Grande, but the transition to the superheavyweight class has NOT been kind to Howler, leaving it at 2-5. Team Myst Inc: Okay I’ll give Mystic credit for showing up for, uhh, most of his matches. His best bot, Xonotic, is still 2-5, but the divisions in that conference are stacked as hell so it has a slim shot at the playoffs. Yellow Buzzard, also 2-5, is in last place. Golden Blaze only avoids this by virtue of Nyam Nyam Nya existing, and Heaven Jaws has managed to lose every single fight so far. NeonCalypso: Sir Morphsalot has yet to win, and Mole Butcher’s only win is from Metal 2 flipping itself. Duck King is also winless due to unfortunate stat allocation, and while Froral Fury has managed a 5-2 it’s also likely to KO itself as much as its opponent, and making the playoffs is unlikely. Team Yellow Alert: Infrared has been hugely impressive this tournament, and is currently undefeated and leading its division. Stingray has somehow gone 4-3, but this is as much its opponents’ fault as its own. Metal Heck looks good, but just hasn’t performed well at 3-4, and Exotherm’s thin armor and lack of traction have really hurt it, with its only wins being against Dr. Robotnik and a forfeit from HIRRicaine. Team Ironside Industries: For a first-time showing Ava is doing okay. The highlight of the team is Raus MK IV, which is 4-3 and fairly high up in its division. Cutthroat is also 4-3, but seems less likely to hold onto its ranking. Blitz and Panzer Strike were unfortunately doomed by poor stat allocation, and neither has gotten a non-forfeit win. Team Loading: Another new team, but showing promise. Killing Intent is a bit overspecialized in my opinion, but OTOH it beat me, and currently has a 4-3 record and second place in its division. Flashback has a respectable 4-3 and third place, and while Ravex and Bluebot are at 3-4 and 1-6, they’ve both won against real entries. Trihunter: And another promising newcomer. Lunatic Udonge is actually 6-1, although it’s still in third due to having a tough division. G.B.J. is 3-4, and while Despicable Twins hasn’t won much, it’s trying an innovative concept. Hartmann’s Youkai bot hasn’t really done anything, but you can’t win ‘em all. Team Edgy Robotics: Jammy’s had a rough event, with a couple of weeks of absence. He also tried to enter a hammer with a 3-point control disparity. The Magpie Effect and Needles are his top performers at 4-3 and fifth place, Nervous Wedge Boy’s 3-4, and Nyam Nyam Nya is still winless. PyroTechnica: Rofl. Honestly there are some good bots here, but he ragequit ARC after the first week so he doesn’t have anything better than 1-6. Team Ectogasm: Klarinette and Parasoul are good, with the former leading its division at 5-2 and the latter in third at 4-3. Lupi and Servant’s Assistant are mediocre at 3-4. The Dream Team: Aka the fillerbots. Green Brick and Count Bleck are winless, Chad the Inhaler somehow picked up two wins, and we know exactly why Eye of Noot picked up two wins. Laz is a tryhard. |

Very nicely done! Everything seems to be coming up Alex so far by the looks of things, and even old Dreadnought's fortunes look to be turning around a bit after it got mullered by the deathspinners early on. If I can get a 50:50 record from this season with it, I'd be more than happy with that given the circumstances.

life and health are causing me to delay the tournament by at least a week again. this could potentially happen in future weeks too, this isn't under my control sadly. my health is more important and it's been slowly deteriorating so i'm going to get to the bottom of this. i'll still be visiting maybe somewhat frequently via mobile but results and updates are out of the question for now. also, dylan, do be a gent and fucking tell me before you update the schedule please. you have a plethora of mediums to contact me with beforehand. |

They've cleared up but now I've got my video stuff to worry about, and BotBrawl is this weekend. So, uh, another week to delay this thing. This is all on me since I did say previous that I'd be cleared to continue this again and then forgetting BotBrawl was a thing. Sorry. .___. |

Yeah this is happening. What with the bronchitis taking me away from running this, several tournaments now running at once, writers being taken away, people always bitching about results and just too many things to keep track of, hosting Ruination just isn't fun anymore. It's a chore. And I don't like chores. I guess I have no one but myself to blame for this. Even with all that happened to me over the past month, I could have foreseen that having 27-28 competitors would make writing results a pain. I could have foreseen that making a separate ruleset would get people pissed off. I could have foreseen having a different opinion on the rules than the masses would get me bitched at for what I write. Whatever. I accept it. So Ruination's season is over. Week 7 is the last regular season week and subsequent weeks are not being counted. Play-offs begin next weekend. For this current week, we have some tie-breakers to decide. These won't count in the power rankings, by the way: Matches that decide 1st/2nd: Experiment 626 vs. Nick's Fuzzy Rules Klarinette vs. Charybdis Matches that decide 2nd/3rd: Lulver vs. Diablo Genesis Killing Intent vs. Patchouli Magnolia Grande vs. Meanstreak Khnum vs. Metal Heck All fights will be in the Battlegrounds arena. After that, play-offs will begin, with the Division A leader fighting the Division B runner-up in each Conference. The winners of those then face each other, and then again and so on until we get our champions. When Ruination's done, well... I can't promise it, but I'm probably not going to run another tournament, even a minor one. Sorry guys. Anyway, yeah. |

), and was especially happy with the Heavyweight result. Very pleased to see Dreadnought do well against a previous champion, and despite all the set-backs with the armour against the deathspinners, it's clawing something back. Might even just make playoffs if we're really lucky!
