Eesh, not looking forward to this one. Analysis Looks like the second of the big Spinners I've got to fight here. Powerful bar, and he's pretty fast and with good armour as well. His traction and torque are pretty dreadful though- along with his small chassis/wheelbase and having the natural gyroscopic forces produced by his weapon affecting his balance and control all the while as well, those mean that he'll be particularly hard to control and manoeuvre. His armour is also low enough to affect his reliability, the bar looks susceptible to getting caught on the Arena Wall and other hazards, but his biggest flaw is in his complete lack of a reliable srimech. If I can tip him over even once with my Flipper, he's an epitaph. Strategy Start with the front-hinged side facing him. Alright, let's do this. Move out quickly and aggressively, angle my wedge in towards his sides/corners and in the opposite direction to which his blade is spinning (To deflect it up and along the wedge to minimise damage and potentially even knock him off-balance.) to force my way under and stop the initial impact. If we get knocked back, I'll recover much faster, so take advantage to get under him again immediately and attempt to flip him. From there, stick to him like glue (IE. Remain in contact preferably throughout to block his spinner), keep constantly underneath and/or herding him against the Arena Walls and hazards, and mixing up attempts to flip, squashing him into the walls to wear down the clock, and forcing him into the Drum and Pulverisers to flip him and damage his weapon and/or pole to limit his effectiveness. In terms of protecting myself- focus on aggressive defence and preventing him from spinning up as much as I can rather than tanking hits by keeping underneath and herding him against the walls and hazards throughout, and trying to destroy his weapon mechanism and/or self-righting pole in between my attempts to flip him. Keep my corners well-protected, don't give him any opportunities to spin up, and basically keep up the aggression throughout, avoid being passive, and take the fight to him throughout. If I can't beat him on damage, I can hopefully beat him on aggression and strategy if I do well here. Good luck Spatch. |

Well, Conqueror has 9 armor points to my 13 weapon. It is flat surface though so it's not a KO. But I threaten damage. In situations like this I always look at the speed difference between the two bots because generally if the defending bot doesn't have enough armor, they can still take it if they have a big speed difference. But in this case... Conqueror only has 1 more point of speed. Granted, that's with more control and everything, but my weapon doesn't need much precision. If he keeps the plastic thingy on top then I have a clean target for my weapon to tear off. If he gets rid of it then he will have difficulty holding on to my bot. Microwave's wheels touch the floor if it gets lifted from any side, and the weapon--if spinning-will likely knock me off, and protect me from gyroscopic forces. -go at him, aim at his corners -use the forked wedge -play cautious and slippery, landing hits while preventing him from just charging right under. -If I can take out his gas with an early hit, that would be really convenient... as I'd really rather not get flipped. -Use the fact that there's only a 1 point speed difference to get away and respin as much as possible. I want Conqueror to have to take as many clean hits as possible. -Try to show that my damage is too much to be outweighed by his aggression. Good Luck -N |
