- Not only do I have a huge speed advantage, but I also have an even huger traction advantage! Oh yes, you know what that means; more control! - His weapon gets split down to 10, so even if he hits my main body armour of 6, I'll still be fine. He however has a main body armour of 5, so the compressors might just kill him alone. Or the pulverizers. Hell, any hazard is dangerous for him here. In fact, my own thwack has a power of 10, and that can easily damage his main armour! - Sure, he could push his lifter into the floor... with 10 power though, he's going to push so much force into the floor that he'll lift his own front end up. While his rear wheels will still be on the ground, I could get to his sides even easier if he does that. - The side edges of his lifter aren't as effective for getting under things as much as the front edges are and I'd wager I can get under those via angling. - So what's the plan? Well it depends on what he does. If he comes out at me, I'll immediately make a beeline for his sides and, with my amazing drivetrain and 2WD compared to his slower and slightly uncontrollable 4WD there's an excellent chance I can do it. When I do it's straight to the pulverizers with him. 11 power to 5 armour will fucking hurt. Keep sending him there, or the compressors if they're nearer. - If he stays in his square, I'll have to be slightly cautious. He knows full well I'm a thwackbot, so it's time to haul out the old bag'o'tricks. Get right in front of him and thwack him. He may or may not expect that; if not, wedge him immediately and hazardize him. If he DOES, quickly spin the other way and thwack him there! Then again wedge and hazardize him. Be sure to mix up thwacks, and take care to thwack if I'm riiiiight in front of him. - Otherwise, put on a hazard show. Floor flippers won't work too well so avoid those, but even the killsaws are lethal here so he has to really, really watch out. - If he ever gets under me, I will still have one wheel on the ground and I can easily escape him. Give him a parting thwack for good measure. Good luck Spatch. |

I've never lived by anyone's rules but my own.

So, Kody has a fast machine. And he's a damn hard target to pin down. If I can manage to hit the main body on IB, 10 weapon on that axe vs 6 armor is no joke. I certainly threaten knockout potential. Doing that just by swinging at this fast moving small target is a futile endeavor. Instead, I will first pin IB down against something so that I can line up a hit. That won't be easy. I expect IB to be a relentless pain, and to give me very little to work with before slipping away many times. However, I aim to show that Industrial Bastardization can't accomplish all that much with what it has. Ultimately, whatever little I end up doing, I think I can show that it's a bit more on the scorecard at the end. -When it spins, it'll mainly be hitting my plow, which is harder than its pickaxe. 11 armor points. -I will try to keep Barracuda's front facing him, and I can also wiggle off with my back wheels if he ever gets his wedge under my sides. -More importantly, he will find little use with his speed because both of these bots are superheavyweights, and the arena is full of hazards. There isn't physically enough room for him to circle around me safely, and play zoning games with that speed. The robots are too large and the arena has too much dangerous stuff to avoid. SHWs are typically the class that benefit least from speed. And robots that rely on speed require space to use it. He'll be fighting the arena as much as me if he tries. -Because of that last point, I can try to force him to come to terms with my low-low front. My main strategy will be to try to stay in the center and slide under as he's spinning or approaching, and get the top edge of my plow to fit between the gap between his wedge and main body. In that crease, I can hold him with his wheels off the floor--making his speed and traction stats worthless while I carry him to the arena clamper. -Don't push quickly, but cautiously. His wheels are his only weapons. I don't want to jostle him so that he falls off the plow. -I want to use that clamper to hold him while I line up an axe hit on that body. I'll pretty much hold off on firing the axe otherwise. Note: I want to be wary of his attempts to come at my front and then swing at the last second--I can easily see Kody trying that sort of strat. It just feels like the kind of sneaky attempt he'd make. I want to try and fake him out, then follow through when he's spinning. tl;dr keep deflecting his attempts to approach, shove him into conveniently nearby hazards, and if I can carry him to the arena clamper--or whatever the hell that thing is called, use that to hold him while I strike with the axe. Good Luck -N |
