Well now, looks like I've got my first match with Lian for this competition- and funnily enough, it's more-or-less Conqueror VS TSA3 (LORE) scaled up! Luckily, I have a few things up my sleeve for this little rematch-that's-not-quite-a-rematch, so let's see what needs doing to get one over my old rival and get Dreadnought Mk2 off to a good start. ![]() Analysis Alright, the predominant thing to watch out for will be his weapons. Although the Axe won't be too dangerous on its own due to the amount of protection I have (Even underneath my Flipper!), it will be a threat if he can get underneath with his Lifter. He was able to TKO the very similar Conqueror by holding its tyres over the Killsaws with the also-very similar TSA3, so I must do what I can to stop him from doing that this time. He's also very solidly built with his eight-armoured chassis, so I'll need to keep that in mind as well. He's got his fair share of weaknesses, though- mostly in how because he's focussed a lot on his good Weapon and Armour stats, he's somewhat neglected in other areas. In particular, I'm a good deal faster and more manoeuvrable at 8 Speed/Traction apiece compared to his distinctly average 6/5, and with only 2 Torque (Which I match him in!), he'll find it difficult to push me around even if he is carrying me, which he shouldn't do. Taking those stats and my 2WD compared to his 4WD into consideration, I'll be the much quicker and more agile machine throughout. Going by his design, the other main weakness is that his defence is concentrated directly at the front, but not so much in other places. In particular, the design of his Lifter means that his front corners are especially vulnerable- a direct route to underneath the chassis, and even though he's got the Skirts, those do not reach far enough either way, and thus will provide almost no protection against my superior chassis wedge. Plus, his weaponry is both nerfed down to 7 due to the Multiple Weapon Rule (And thus besides clamping purposes, his Axe will do little more than leave dents and scratches for the most part.), and easy enough to nullify by flipping. If I use my superior drive and powerful Flipper to constantly flip him, keep him on his back and prevent him from bringing the weapons into play, there is precious little he can do. Strategy Well, game on. From the start I aim to fight tactfully but aggressively, so move out quickly and go for his front corners and/or sides depending on which are closer. Once I get to him, force my way underneath, turn him over with my Flipper, and from there begin pushing. If he tries to run away, use my superior speed and agility to chase him down, but watch out for if he tries to turn the Lifter towards me if he does so. Avoid taking him head-on (He could press down the Lifter.), and don't fire the Flipper until I'm definitely underneath to prevent him from gaining any purchase early on. If I miss on my first approach, don't panic- keep the Flipper down, move out the way, and come back around for another try, maybe from a different angle if I have a clear enough shot at it. Once I have him flipped, do everything I can to keep him that way! Keep underneath him even when he is flipped, and as he self-rights using the axe, manoeuver under and flip him again to stop him recovering and escaping. Mix up attacks by comboing him with flips, ramming him into the walls, and shoving him towards nearby hazards. In terms of those, I want to focus particularly on damaging his wedges by forcing him into the Drum, and boxing him into the Pulveriser corners, preferably whilst upside-down, to damage his axe mechanism. If that goes and I flip him, then that could well be a good option to KO him with. Ultimately however, I want to be controlled, aggressive, and able to make use of my drive, my Flipper, and the environment in order to keep him under control and gradually chop away at him with a wide variety of attacks. Be relentless, and don't give him any chances. The key things to remember with my defence will be to keep the Flipper down when I'm not using it (In order to deny him any potential points that he can hook onto me with using his Axe.), and to do absolutely everything possible to stay off the wedge. He's much slower than I am, so keeping constantly moving and being unpredictable in my approaches will help a lot- when I don't have him flipped, try making use of hit-and-run tactics to not only prevent him from catching me, but also constantly forced onto the defence. If he does lift me up though, don't panic- not only will he be slow to manoeuver due to his slower speed and weak torque (Which will slow him down even more when carrying an extra 98kg), but the low power of his axe and my strong armour means that he'll have trouble maintaining a grip on me. In this case, drive off if I still have a wheel with purchase on his wedge- if I don't, fire the Flipper to break his grip, and shift the weight distribution to shake myself loose. Basically, do what I can to break free with the time I have. Other than that, take these precautions- if I get flipped, self-right ASAP to stop him from pushing me into anything, keep my back and sides well-protected at all times, and keep a good berth of the Hazards when I'm not taking him to them myself. In particular, stay as far as I can from the Killsaws- even though I have better tyres to resist them this time, I still have to be very careful. Overall, my main plan is to do everything I can to avoid him picking me up (And escaping promptly if he does do so.), and in return make use of my superior speed and agility to fight a tactical and aggressive battle. Keep underneath him as much as I can, combo him with my flipper repeatedly, and use my superior drive and running slams into the hazards to gradually break him down. Ideally, I would like to TKO him by ruining his Axe mechanism to stop him from righting himself- once that goes, he's basically a goner. Failing that though, we're pretty hardy, so a KO is quite unlikely otherwise, so I'm fine with winning via Strategy and Damage/Aggression. Anyway, here's hoping this'll be enough. Good luck Lian, let's see what the new guy is capable of. |

We have equal torque, which means we would go to a deadlock. But, my lifter has the advantage here. For him to use his flipper, he has to get me up on his body to use it effectively. That front part however is static, so my lifter should be able to get underneath every time we clash head on, allowing me to clamp him and take him on a hazard tour. We have equal body armour, at quite high values, so a KO for either party does not seem very likely. I have the speed to keep up with him and not be taken by surprise. Game Plan - From the start, head straight out to meet him head on. If we end up in a head on collision, push the lifter down to give me more leverage over him than I already do and dive bomb underneath him. Once underneath him, quickly lift and clamp. Once I have him trapped in a clamping position, take him on a tour of the hazards, first place I'll wanna head to is the killsaws to try and cause some significant damage to his tyres and help swing the damage category in my favour. If I can, drag him to the pulverizer to pound on the top of his armour and try to pin him there for the allotted time. Once I have to back off, go straight back in on the attack and scoop him up. If I can flip him over, do so then quickly dive in and clamp him whilst he's upside down and head him straight to the hammers to damage his underbelly and cause some shock damage to the internals if I'm lucky. If I'm struggling to get him to the hazards, ram him straight into a wall and clamp. Try to pin him up against the spiked walls to eat up the clock and give me strategy points. My main form of offence is to go right after him, lift, flip, clamp and hazard trips are the aim of the game. Try to control the match and have it by the scruff of the neck, don't give him a chance to build up steam. Cut off his momentum and dictate the match. Defensively, there is no two ways about it. The defensive plan is to keep him from getting underneath me at all costs. If he tries gunning for my sides, quickly turn on the spot and keep my face pointing at him at all times. If he tries to slip under the lifter from any angle, just simply back up and prepare myself for an attack. The lifter is quite long so he'll have a problem getting to my main body. If flipped, self right quickly with the axe and get right back in his face. Stay away from the hazards at all times unless I'm the one pushing him into them, force him to eat lifter every time and wriggle off his front should he get underneath the main body. Good luck Alex, let's tear the house down!
